Hi,
I have almost completed doula training with Optimum Birth but also have a fair amount of prior experience - before I even knew what a doula was :laughing:
I'm the mother of four adult children and two grandchildren that I helped bring into the world. I have assisted friends during labour and also have experience as a breastfeeding counsellor.
I have great concerns that the birth process is becoming more and more medicalised and continuity of care during preganancy and birth is not easily obtained. So, after many years of considering (not a fast mover !) I decided to leave my professional career in library and information management behind and become a full-time doula.
