hi everyone,
im new to this website but thought it would be a great place to get some advice. My partner and i have talked about having a baby for a while now, and decided it would be a good time. Unfortunatly, i have a small uterus and have many period issues. My gyn/ob told me i will never have a uterus that functions in the normal way. Has anyone had this or have any advice on what to do? can ivf help us? i have become so anxious about it, and it seems i am being handballed from one specialist to the next and all send me for more tests! i just want a firm answer so my partner and i can try for children. It is something that has always been important to me, and i am very anxious at the possibilty that my dream will never become reality:(.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

:hugs: do you have a unicornuate uterus? i have one and it is smaller than what it should be. My doctor has told me that as long as i am monitored continuously throughout the pregnancy then i will be able to carry there are higher risks of miscarriage and pre term labour but it shouldn't affect my ability to conceive unless i have a rudimentary tube which i find out on thursday.
Do you have any other issues like Endo or PCOS?
has your partner been tested?
I say just keep trying and if you need IVF consider it, if it is your dream it will happen one way or another.

Have you started trying to conceive? Have you been told not to, it doesn't sound like it from what you've said. So, why not try? You don't need to go down the IVF pathway unless you are having trouble conceiving. A small uterus shouldn't stop you getting pregnant, I would think.

My SIL was told she would have trouble getting pregnant and if she did she would likely miscarry. That was because she had polycystic ovaries and a funny shaped uterus. In fact she got pregnant twice, carried to full term twice and has 2 happy healthy children. Oh and she got pregnant within 4 months for the first pregnancy.

Good luck!
