About a week ago I was doing the usual changing nappy thing with all the cream etc...
After a couple of days I noticed a rash wasn't getting any better, infact it was getting worse! So I put away the cream and it cleared up.

Thing is, this is a new dilemma I suppose. If DD had a bad reaction to nappy cream (I tried bepanthen and curash) out of the blue, but then got another nappy rash, what would I use??

Is there any organic or super sensitive creams available??

I have heard that a cream called TUSH is good -it is all natural stuff.. but you do have to purchse it on line.. ( I haven't tried it - I have just heard good things)

the other thing to think about is that BEPANTHEN- although a fantastic cream .. is a fairly strong anti- bacterial cream .. something softer .. like a basic zinc cream (sudocrem??) might cause less of a reaction.

good luck

If she gets a nappy rash, use sorbolene cream, water and cotton balls to clean her bottom at nappy change instead of baby wipes - or if you have to use wipes, make sure they have no alcohol, and are hypo-allergenic.
Also, use a very basic zinc and castor oil cream, rather than a "nappy rash cream" as often these have fragrences and other additives in them that can be more harmful than good.

All else failing, take her to the doctor in the case of a nappy rash (not a bad idea anyway) as it may be thrush or something other than just irritation.

Good luck!

If the nappy rash is a sort of pimply raised type rash or sort of like little sores it's a good chance it may be thrush, if it's just really bad redness it is probably just bad nappy rash.
Give Daktozin a go and see if that works, or maybe even (if you can get your hands on it) some fresh aloe vera (put the crystal gel stuff on bub's bum) and try leaving the nappy off as much as possible, I know it's hard in the cold weather.

My DS started getting a horrid looking rash on his bum and I immediately started using Sudocrem - my friend recommended this as the best one to use and she was right.

Clreaded up after a day or so. I think it acts not only as an anti-bacterial cream, but also as a barrier to further germies! (Is that the same thing??)

Anyhow - I just put this on his bum at evry change now, regardless of whether the rash returns or not (which it hasn't).

Give it a go.

DS2 has had a really bad case of nappy rash and I had been using Daktozin, it usually works like a charm for him, but I think it actually made him worse this time also.
Now I'm using Lucas' Papaw ointment and a layer of covital nappy rash treatment over the top. It's still there but it's clearing up nicely.

I only use the Brauers Nappy Rash Cream now which is all natural & you can get it from your chemist with the other products in their range or from a health food shop.
Tis great because i found the other creams on made stuff breed for us & this stuff actually clears it up within a few hours. Plus it isnt gunky & heavy instead very light, rubs in well etc.

Papaw ointment has always worked for us  On the rare occasion that DS had a bad rash start before I noticed...usually when he was on antibiotics...a cream called B.O.Z. Ointment was the only thing that worked. It's made by a company called Gold Cross, it's in a white tub with a blue label, I've only ever seen it in chemists. It's very thick, can't remember what the B & O stand for...the Z is obviously Zinc, the main ingredient.

No other creams worked on DS, they were all too thin. Thankfully DD hasn't had any rashes, other than a minor one when she had diarrea for 10/11 days...and the papaw ointment kept that under control :D

Wow, Thanks guys!

I've been using the sudocrem just because it was sitting in the cupboard lol
It's pretty much cleared with only a couple of spots here or there... But from the sounds of it, it Might've been thrush!!

We're due for a doctors appointment shortly so that'll be a good topic to start on

Thanks again :)
