View Full Version : Where have all the swings gone??
Is it just my imagination or is it hard to find a play area with a swing set in it?? I have been to several big parks lately scoping out play spots for my bubba and it is a mission to find one with swings! Is it just Brisbane that has this problem or is it across Australia??
BRING BACK THE SWINGS!!!

C'mon, who plays on swings these day....Sheeezzzz ! Okay, I do - just a few days ago in fact :D
There are a lot more climbing things than swings these days.
How's that handsome little bubba of yours by the way ??

Might be a brissy thing - Melb and ACT are swings a plenty.
yeah climbing things scare the c$@% out of me... Nathan is getting very confident very quickly with the whole walking/climbing thing... that's why i want swings! Only dodgy little parks seems to have them.
My spunkrat is doing gr8 btw ryanosmum... how's my fellow working-mum? i am sooo out of the bubhub loop...
I agree!...theres a major lack of swings and good parks in brisbane...i espically miss those kinda like...merry go round carosel things which you can sit on while someone spins it around.....ahhh the memories..if anyone knows where there is one let me know lol

It's probably due to rising insurance costs and swings have a way of 'launching' kids into the air
Are you back working yet ? Lunches are down to a regular foursome...
It's the big parks that are really missing them... up at the Sunshine Coast we drove all around Caloundra looking for one! Dicky Beach, Moffat Beach, Currumundi Lake... all those parks at the beaches are all minus swing sets! And those carasole-things too BTW... also Kedron Brook in Brisvegas... you're right Rynosmum, maybe an insurance thing... flying foxes are much much safer!! NOT!
When and where do you have your weekly lunch? I work Mon/Wed/Fri in Mary St.

I think we are quite lucky in Melbourne.
We have a few good parks with swings.
Just around the corner we have a whole new playground.
It is suited to young kids which is great.

I think for really good parks in Brisbane you just have to know where to look!;)
I live on the Northside and their are some fantastic parks on this side of town, swings and all!
