What did you spend the baby bonus on?

Sorry if this has been done, I am really curious as to what everyone spent their baby bonus on. If there is another thread please point me in the right direction, I did a search and nothing came up.

We have spent ours as follows ...

$3000 - Stem Cell Storage
$900 - A tallboy (we bought one before bubs was born but the baby store closed down before it was delivered so we lost our money)
$1100 - Will be invested for bubs

I paid of my ge and the rest i used to pay rent, food, nappies waiting for my payment for centerlink to start i think i got about $3000 my ge was $1500

Just stuff... bills, my car radiator sprung a leak 2 days before the boy was born so we had to have that fixed with whatever money we did have.. yeah, just stuff really, food, bills, baby gear.. no big purchases that stick out in my mind.

to cover my loss of income so i could take time off work, went on bills, mortgage etc. I bought bub everything before i received the lump sum so was prepared. not sure how you can wait to buy these things until after they are born:confused:

I paid my mum back because she'd been letting me stay rent-free and had bought a few items for DD and for me. Then, I bought a convertible car seat, a pram, some clothes and stocked up on some nappies and things for DD.
I bought myself a CD. :)

i banked it for DS's education! I saved my bum off from when i found out i was pregnant and am very lucky to have a very supportive family.... this allowed me to put it in a term deposit to save for his education the $1000 from xmas time is also in there and money i have continued to save

So far its gathering interest in our bank. We will be going to see DPs family in the UK and revisiting my orphanage in Guatemala at the end of this year. So, along with our savings that will take a chunk of it.

We bought a new fridge(we had one that was big enough for maybe two people, so we needed a much much bigger one!)

Paid out one of our loans

Paid extra on rent and other utilities so that we're a bit ahead.

A maxi rider for DS3 so DS4 can go into the convertible car seat once he out grows the capsule.

A toddler bed for DS3 so DS4 could go into the cot(he's outgrown the bassinet).

Both bonuses have been put away in a bank account that gains interest and the money will most likely be used for school fees, uniforms, books etc. in a few years time when they start.

The $3000 we got after Hayley was born we spent on rent/bond, new fridge and funiture because we moved house (we were living in a 3 bedroom unit before hand with 4 other people and it was quite squashy, also it was all their funiture apart from Grant's bed).

The $4000 we got after Skye was born we used to put towards a deposit for a house.

And with this baby we are hoping to get a bigger car.

We put it inot a savings account and then had to use some for bond, but once we got our bond back we put it back in.
Im so freaked out about dentists bills and school stuff that i needed to start saving now! I also ad to it every fortnight.

i got a dryer, as my little man was a cloth bum.

a fridge as i didnt think the bar fridge was gunna cut it anymore.

i bought a tv and dvd player, no not a big screen... an old school, cheap as chips **** brand tv and an even cheaper dvd player as i straight up didnt own one and with late night feeds and sleepless nights i wanted one.

i put the rest into a savings account for ds, which has slowly dwindled away over time on things like moving house, and big items such big boy bed and stuff.

With DD it was 4000 I had all of it still in the bank til not long before she was 2 out of that I bought cloth nappies for her and baby on the way, double pram, paid my rent 6 months in advance :D, a maxi rider for DD so bub could use hear rear facing seat and a couple of maternity items.

DS's was 5000 and its still in the bank I have no need for it so it can accumulate interest until then :D

the 2k we got in december went to chrissy presents, bigger sized cloth naps for DS and a good camera which I figure I will save anyway not having to get professional pics done

i didnt spend it i put it all into bank accounts for my children i had everything they needed and wanted them to have something for when they are older we still add to it $50 each pf it will all add up eventually

The $4000 I got went on baby stuff. We'd spent a fair bit before he was born and that money had come out of our savings, so technically the baby bonus went into our savings which in turn helped us pay the bills while I was on maternity leave. It was great cause it meant I could stay home for a whole year after he was born without having to go back to work. I wouldn't have been able to do that otherwise.
