Hi there,

I am new to this forum,

My husband and I have been trying to conceive baby #2 for the last few months and already I am starting to get some negative thoughts which I am finding a little discouraging because nothing seems to be happening.
One thing that keeps popping into my mind is that I have waited too long after cesarean. (It's been 5 years)
This might be because all of the mothers I personally know who have had a cesarean have not waited as long as I have to conceive another child.
I am just wondering if someone has heard of anyone who has had a gap of 5 years or more after cesarean and then once again fallen pregnant and carried a child to term???

Hi Nadia,
my cousin had a 5 yr gap after a cs & she now has a healthy happy 12 month old :)

I also know of a 3 and 4 year gap with equally positive results.

Good luck ttc and enjoy the attempts!

Hi Kat,

Thankyou for taking the time to respond to my question.
Your info is encouraging to me as I'm feeling quite alone in this issue.
I'm going to ask this question in the ttc section to see if I can get some more responses like yours.

thanks again

I've never heard of any linkage between having a cs and having trouble conceiving after. The only things I've ever heard is that dr's generally want the scar area to have at least one year to heal before you get pregnant again.

But unfortunately the older most women get the harder it is for us to conceive.
