I need some advice. I'm am soo sick and tired of DH's dad and sister asking about why we haven't bought a house, when are we going to buy a house, etc etc. It's none of their business.

Anyway, I've just realised it's going to get a lot worse when they find out I'm leaving work next year. We will not be buying a house until I finish my degree and the kids are all in school. No big deal right? Ha! I don't get why they are so concerned with our personal finances. I don't know what to do?

I've tried to talk to DH, but he is just so laid back and doesn't even get annoyed at ANYTHING. I'm the total opposite, I get upset/worried/annoyed/concerned of everything. I even get annoyed because of DH's lack of ability to get annoyed IYKWIM :laughing:

I've tried some smart a@@ comments such as;

FIL OR SIL: "So when are you going to buy a house?"

response to FIL: "Don't know yet. So when are you going to marry your girlfriend of 5 years?" I really want to say "When are you going to marry your girlfriend, you know the one you left your childrens mother for. The one you cheated with etc etc :devil6: not worth it!

response to SIL: "Don't know yet. So when are you going to have kids? I don't know why you haven't had any yet"

They just don't seem to pick up that they are being intrusive and rude.

We will buy a house when WE are ready. I'm just sick of their comments. This is more a vent than anything else. Sorry it's a bit long :o

Some e don't realise how rude and intrusive they are. I like the pretend responses, it would be funny to use them. However backlash would be terrible.

Perhaps you could try, "When you are paying!"

:hugs::hugs:Know how you feel, my MIL is the same and has even gone to the extent of emailing estate agents enquiring on our behalf despite numerous tellings we're not doing that for many (if any) years to come.

Chances are it's just what they can think of to bug you about and if you had a mortgage they'd be bugging you about something else, that's what it is with my MIL anyway, she just likes bugging people. :rolleyes:

BTW I really like your possible replies PMSL.
