GD question

Hi - I'm wondering how late in the game they would put you on insulin?

I'm due for a c-section in 2 weeks and 4 days and the past 2 days my fasting levels have been through the roof. One at 7.2 - this one I understand I was in the hospital overnight and had 3/4 of a sandwich for dinner and no snack. But then today I read 8.7 - I'm off to jump on the elliptial trainer in our gym now but I'm wondering if I can't get it back to normal tomorrow that would be 3 in a row.... My next OB appointment is on Wednesday.

Would they start me on insulin for a 2 week stint?

I don't know for sure but I think they may, as its not good for you or your babies health. They may even bring baby on earlier, I would call your ob in the morning if you have another high reading, you have come so far & it is not worth the risk to wait until your appointment. GD can affect kidney function, placental function etc.... Hope it all goes well for you. GD SUCKS!!! I am so glad I only got it the first time :)

thanks for that - I'm having an awful day with my levels today! I think I may have to call tomorrow and see what the plan is - I walked over 5km today trying to get them down but it kept bringing contractions on and I'm not sure what the lesser of 2 evils is. I'm already having an early c-section at 36 weeks and 4 days and I don't think they'll want to move it back any further.. I don't think I want for sure.
