still fresh in my mind seeming as i only did it on Thursday.. but i just cant get over giving birth! i keep talking about it and thinking about it.. i cant believe that i actually did it!!.. it was very scary.. and i felt a little out of control.. but im just amazed that the human body can make and deliver a baby..

i had a good labour i am so proud of myself.. was in labour for 9 hours and 20 minutes! apparently thats great for a first timer.. went very fast.. i also had no epidural only pethedine.. i cant work out what feeling was worse.. the contractions or the pushing.. i guess they r both as bad as each other..

as soon as the baby is out u dont care what pain ur in or what ur feeling like.. its so amazing seeying ur little baby for the first time..

when they put him up on my belly i was so emotional and teary.. its so weird he had this smell on him.. not a bad smell.. like a new life.. it smelt warm.. does that sound weird? who knows im talking about..

lol im sorry my mind is racing a million miles and hour right now!!!!!!!!!!

i have to say i have a new found respect for every single women who has even given birth!! what amazing creatures we r!! lol

one more thing.. i was so lucky to have 2 of the nicest midwives.. the women who delivered my baby.. stayed past her shift cos i had felt comfy with her as she had been there with me all evening.. and then i had another one looking after me through the night and she was great.. they r just amazing.. for what the have to do and how they have to help us.. i couldnt ever do or see the things they do! but i guess nothing must shock them..

anyway everyone talk to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hehe!!

xoxo

Hey jennababe...yep giving birth is certainly an amazing experience!! Sounds like you went very well! My birth was 36 hours long and i didnt have any pain relief for the first 30 hours!!! I had to been induced by a drip at 30 hours and then the contractions come on long and fast - and i opted for the GAS - the gas at this stage became my best friend and i almost cried when they told me to start pushing and took the gas away lol...as long as my labour was, and yes as much as it hurt it is an amazing experience and the best thing in the world!

You definatley forget the pain once your little one is on your chest...oh its all coming back to me now! enjoy your little one because before you know it they will be all grown up!

Firstly Congrats, he is just beautiful :hugs:

Yes I loved it too, I had so many complications & nothing went to plan but I often find myself thinking about it & how I managed to pop my huge DD out(11 pound) but I did & loved it :D
Thinking of my birth(how hard and long it was) is the only thing that gets me to stick out the whole hour in my Spin Class
Enjoy being a Mummy

Hey,
Congrats on your new baby. I don’t usually talk about my labors as other mummies hate me lol. But here it goes.
Ds 1: 9 hrs DS2: 2.5 hrs (no drugs all natural) DS3: 1 hr (no drugs all natural not really a choice) DD1: 2 hrs (had an epi because they were going to do an emergency CS because of hemorrhage but she had other ideas. Epi had worn off they topped it up and 2 secs later had urge to push so I guess it was drug free).
So if you go off mine your next labour should be about 2hrs long. :smiliedance:
Enjoy your little miracle; you will be in awe for many years to come.
They do grow up too quick though so make the most of this time and take tones of pics.
Well done

hey  congrats on your beautifull bub (very cute!!)

I am always happy to talk about my birth when ever someone asks!! I really enjoyed it. Labour was 8 hours long (counted from when waters broke) and I pushed for about 10 min and bub was out. I found the whole thing to be really positive and it was great to be able to share it with DF (and the other 8 people in the room:eek: , who I didnt even notice till afterwards!!)

We ended up with so many people cos we were the last to arrive that morning, but the first to have our bub (after being turned away 3 hours befor, "no hun your not in labour") All the midwives came round to have a squizz.

My ob was awsome and we all joked around for the whole thing (It was more like a comedy gala than a labour room!!) I look forward to doing it all again (realising it will prob be nothing like the first but will make the most of it anyway!!):D

though I think my hubby enjoys going into my detail than I do...

I had three natural births, painful but so rewarding=baby

Even though i gave birth nearly 14 months ago it is all still fresh in my head & i love talking about it to anyone who will listen. I too had two great midwifes; one was with me the whole time & the other came to take over the other ones shift but she said she would stay over time to see me through it all. Yep once the baby is out you just seem to forget about the pain & your just so happy to see your little bundle of joy. Im scared of giving birth again soon but i know it will all be worth it in the end & i know i can get through it. A few hours of pain (hopefully just a FEW) is so worth a lifetime of your baby!

My son was a caeser and my daughter was natural. I was very excited that I had her naturally. I could also talk about it all day. My DH took lots of photos and I am forever looking at them. I love reading the birth stories and I try to keep my birth fresh in my head. We both said two is enough, but am sad I won't be able to go through it again
