Hi all, my hubby and I decided to start a family 2 years ago...but then we found out that I've heart murmur and won't be able to conceive. I was dumb struck :(...it was difficult for me to accept. As I come from a big family... infertility never the issues...as far as I know.
Anyway, we went to see a dr and he adviced me to undergo laparoscopy. What I've been told that chances for me to get pregnant after laparoscopy is 40-45 or was it 50? But without it, it might be around 15-25...hubby said I should but I'm worried about the risks...guess I'm just being silly! Even my cardio said my hear murmur won't cause me any problem during pregnancy.
Well, if anyone had laparoscopy and if it really helps for you getting pregnant, I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks

Hi! Welcome to bubhub!
I have a friend who was diagnosed with a heart murmur AFTER she had her two children. No problems conceiving, no problems with her pregnancies or birth experiences. There are definitely scaremongers out there, so try not to listen to the negative - stay positive! There are quite a few bubhubbers who have had laparoscopies so hopefully someone can give you some advice about it. Best of luck! :hugs:

I am new to this site too, and like you, I have been TTC for 2 years now. Just wanted to say hello and good luck! (I would say your heart mummer would not be a problem, I had a friend who was born with a hole in her heart and she has 2 littlies and no probs at all)

Bye!

Hi there...thanks all. I'm looking forward for my appointment next week. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. Yes, it's frustrating for us but I know there are women TTC for more than 2 years. Well, good luck to you too bikini...and everyone...
Will keep posting...thanks again...

I had a laparoscopy in October after 11 months of trying to conceive (have PCOS) and fell pregnant the very next cycle (although I also had to use clomid as I don't ovulate without it). My hubby's aunt had tried for 18 months, had a lap and fell pg the next cycle with no drugs. My OB says it is amazing how many women fall pg just from a lap, fertility is increased enormously in the 2-3 cycles after one. I was scared too but after all that trying figured it was better than sitting around and wondering if I didn't do it.

I wish you all the luck in the world and a quick BFP!

Hi Kiahsmum..thanks for your reply. A few months after we got married, I found out that my period was late almost a week. I thought 'this is it' Im pregnant but on day 8, it came. I :crying:as I was hoping that Im pregnant. DH did everything to cheer me up. A year TTC, we decided to see gyneacologist, had blood test etc...we were told that there are couples waited for 2 years and more...after 2 years TTC still not pregnant we went to see FS. My DH sperm count is good and Im ovulating but when I had HyCoSy...blockage in both tube. So FS advised us to think about ART...I should do lap and IVF.
Im not sure when but as I mentioned before I will find out when to do lap when we see FS again next week. Im still waiting for my period this month...my last period was on 2nd Jan...I know it's impossible:( since blockage on both tube. Well...all I can do now is wait and see....

Me 35:bee: & DH 55:D
I know...age gap:valentine:
