Ella has been a great night sleeper since 3 weeks old!! Sleeping through...

But now she is waking from about 1am randomly until morning. I usually just go in & stick her dummy back in, which last for up to an hour. This morning at 3:30 I gave in & got her a bottle. Then she slept until about 6:30am.

I know you're not supposed to get a bottle for them if they have been previously sleeping through. But I was so tired & sick of being a yoyo!!

What do I do about this? I'm so tired!! I have started her on solids last week. So she shouldn't be hungry.....

Help... thanks guys!

I found the same thing when Wy was her age. Turns out he was having a growth spurt and needed something during the night to fill the hole.

Devils Avocate I know, but we ended up giving him a bottle. I know they say not too, but we found we had no other choice :(

Do you know if she is cutting any teeth?

i did the bottle and bf too because at that time of the night and in my tired state it was far easier than tackling the real issue head on. only thing is DD's waking went on for months, then when i did finally decide to tackle it, she got over it, just like that. so she started waking through the night at 18 weeks, then she dropped it at about 7 - 7.5 months.

there are threads somewhere about this that may give you some good advice

Thanks. No I dont think she is teething. Last night she was so wide awake & seemed like she wanted to play.

I am actually wondering whether she might be getting too much sleep during the day? She sleeps for about an hour after her 1st feed. Then another sleep at about 10am for about an hour or so. Then another sleep after lunch for 2 hours. Then she usually has a little nap before tea, then after bath time she'll sleep until we wake her for a late bottle before we go to bed.

I just dont know how to change her routine?

I always found if Wy slept any time after 2pm he would be awake all night, so I eventually cut any sleeps out after 2pm and he started to settle down. He was never a good sleeper during the day at that age though

Might be an idea to cut out the sleeps after 2pm and try and hang her out till bed time? Wy's bedtime was 6-6.30am at 5 months as he was so tired

What time does she wake usually in the morning?

Wy used to be up between 5 and 6am. I would put him back to bed about 8am, he would sleep for an hour (Tops) and then I would put him back to bed around 11.30am and he would sleep for about 2 hours. The he would go to bed at 6-6.30pm after dinner and a bath :)

Good luck with it! It's hard trying to work them out at the best of times let alone when you feel like a Zomie from lack of sleep!

Keep us posted! :D
