why dont u guys go to a playgroup? or 2 or 3? lol
that's what i do - we go about 3 times per week. that's how i have met other mums and kids. I'm younger than most of them - I'm 27 and they're all over 33 - 39...but has been great

I'm from Melbourne too!
I dont have any kids yet, but I'm currently 29 weeks along and my bub is due May 09. I'm already feeling like a loaner not hanging out with the people I used to lol. I'm in need of new friends lol

Greengables is right, the only solution is to get out and go to a playgroup. Many libraries also have kiddie Rock 'n' Rhyme sessions.
See if there is a young mums group in your area you can hook into as well. Only problem I found is that most of the organisers are quite enthusiastic but the mums aren't.
The area we used to live in had 7 or 8 different playgroups so I just went one by one till I found some girls I got on with and a fun atmosphere for DS.
Good luck becoming a mum can isolate you from friends you no longer share a similar life with, but there are plenty of other ladies just like you wanting to get together.
