Considering how today went im re thinking if its a smart idea to go on a holiday this year or not..
We really want to go to tasmania to see snow as well as the chocolate factory. thing is we dont know how Seth will cope being away from home for 1-2weeks.
Do we see how early intervention goes and wait till next year or do we go this year.. thing is i dont want to go if it causes him stress like todays outing did.. coz both me and dh didnt handle it very well at all:no:
we barly lasted an hour at the aquarium.
opinions please

I have a child that falls into the same group as you boy, but now he is about to start high school. Here are a few things that we did to make holidays easier.
try for a holiday closer to home, you will be more rested from not haveing so far to travel.
choose one destination and just take day trips, that way you sleep at the same place each night.
Staying in a cabin at a caravan park is a good idea, as you have more space, and you are able to prepare your own meals when you want them.
prepare for your holiday by doing a lot of day trips and maybe one or two overnight trips, to give yourself an idea of how things will work.
It really helps if you child's comfort items are transportable and easily adaptable, when my child was young we had to do a lot of traveling, so lots of different sleeping environments, what we found to work for us was a small tape player and a tape of "sleep music" calm soothing music, he also had his own pillow and blanket, which really helped him settle.
We were in Tassie last Sept. with a 8,10,12yr olds. and had a great time. But we are glad we waited until the children were alot older. As going on tours and the like would have been a lot more difficult with a pram and so on.
also Cadbury don't do the big tours anymore:no: You just get to watch a movie and listen to a talk for 10min, but you do get to go to the shop and pic up lots of bargins, and seconds and they give you a box of favorites aswell:D
