baby proofing

is there anything made specifically to baby proof a kitchen bin? Its one of those with a flap in the lid. my dd keeps trying to put things in there and take things out :barf:so disgusting. i usually keep her out the kitchen but sometimes shes sneaky n gets there before i notice lol

The only thing I can think of is using a bin with one of those foot pedals. It'd be hard for kids to step down on it I think.
