i think the rule with babies is "if in doubt check it out"
doesn't sound all that normal to me:no:
Thanks, I will definately take her to the paed 2moz...Its so worrying having a child...
omg..:(
A friend of mine had a child whose eyes did this from a very young age. He's now 18 months & wears glasses. It wasn't epilepsy with him, but he does have very bad eye sight.
I agree, a check out with a Dr isn't going to hurt her.
Good Luck!

When can i get her eyes cheackd...:confused:how old?
I think he was a couple of months old when she got him checked. I'd start with a GP or your ECHN, they could tell you the best place from there. Or you mentioned your seeing your Pead tomorrow, I'd be asking him.
You never know it might be something she'll grow out of, but I know anything out of the normal gets amplified in our heads as mothers!
Hun, if it's stressing you out go see your GP today.
Is it that Sibel is trying to focus and this is happening or is it happening all the time?

Like if I say
"Little chicken" she turns her head and it happens, It has only happend when I talk to her and she is paying attention...Ive like practically stared at dd for no reason just looking at her and she has never done it. Only when I start talking to her or come sit near her!...

Hi,
It could be what my hubby has, he is legally blind (has about 20% vision) and it is common with low vision eyesight.
"Nystagmus (http://www.healthscout.com/ency/68/516/main.html) is an unintentional jittery movement of the eyes. Nystagmus usually involves both eyes and is often exaggerated by looking in a particular direction."
We had our little boy checked at the childrens hospital eye clinic since his father has it and he shows no signs of it.
It is nothing to stress about it is a simple test by an opthamologist took about 5 mins like a regular eye test and my boy had it when he was about 2 1/2months old.
I will also say even though my hubby has low vision he has gone on to live a full life, gone to uni and has a very good well paid job so even if anything is wrong with your bubs eyes it is not going to be anything to stop them living a normal life!
DO see you GP or Pedi just to be sure.......this is just my thoughts!
Any concern at all i would take her to the pead, My DDs elilepsy went about 18 months not diagnosed as we and some drs kept blaming it on her other health issues

Yeh get her checked out...sounds like she is having problems focusing, what if you put a toy in front of her? Does she do the same thing?

Well even being 2months old she isnt too interetsed yet when we show her teddies and such. But yeh Ive only just realised she does it when focusing.
Maybe its just becasue her eyes are still new and not too strong yet

It does sound like she is trying to focus.
You should be due for an 8 week check up soon anyway.
If you are taking her to a CHN bring it up with her.
They usually check eyes at that check up anyway..

My mums' eyes do this, I have gotten used to it now but you can really notice it when you look close, I wonder if she gets dizzy sometimes lol. But hers was caused from a car accident 20 years ago, damaged nerves or something. They also shake all of the time.
