View Full Version : Night Nappies
I dug back a few pages and found some night nappy threads, but thought I'd see if anyone has any fresh info to add. (Plus I don't like reviving old threads)
Would I be better off getting some fitted and covers rather than AIO or AI2? I already have some covers from before bubs was born. A couple of fleece and some PUL Tots Bots and some Bummis Super Whispers.
DD is a pretty heavy night wetter so she'd need a robust nappy so I wasn't having to change her at 1am! :p

My night nappy is a cloth'd up nappy (so basic un-padded fitted), a bamboo fleece prefold folded into thirds and a BBH PUL cover.
It does Baylee overnight but also well into the morning too. By that I mean that she can wake up at 7:30 and not need a change for another hour..
I figured a fitted or such under a cover would be better for night since it doesn't matter if it is kinda bulky.

We use a fitted at night with a PUL or wool cover - what ever is ready to go really.
They work really well for us, I have super big wetters. Our nappies have 18 layers of absorbent fabric.

At the moment I am using a medium Magicall with the bamboo pad it comes with plus a tri-fold bamboo booster that is from a large Itti.
This combination works really well and she lasts 12 hours without a leak.

the only thing that ever worked for us is a good fitted with a bamboo tri fold booster and a woolen cover. that or a krap katcher or trumpet bums.
I've got some BBH bamboo fitted and night boosters on their way to trial for night time. As it is the overnight nappy that usually causes DD's nappy rash to flair up I think it is really important to get it right!
Do you guys use a fleese liner or anything to keep the wet nappy from touching bubs bum?
I'm excited to get my little girl into cloth full time!

a lot of people use liners but i dont feel the need. some of my night nappies have a fleece inner anyways so dont need to use one but even with the bamboo baby beehinds i dont. but if you feel you need to so she doesnt get a rash then why not?

My DD ended up with horrible nappy rash ( not from the cloth) so I went to spotlight and dot some polar fleece, the thin stuff and cut it into liners. If I use a cream I put the cloth liner in first so it doesnt end up on the nappy.
I use the greenkids at night, never had a leak yet!

I have been thinking about making some polar fleece liners for when bub is born just incase he gets nappy rash and I need to use cream. I don't want to ruin my nappies and have obviously no idea how big he will be.
As I have no idea about sewing and making liners, I was wondering if someone could please suggest how big I should make the liners? Thanks in advance.

No sewing reqiuired!! I just cut the fleece into rectangle shapes about 15cm by 6cm..... depends on what nappies you are using but tailor them to suit.
I've been using my BBH bamboo nappy at night, boosted to nines with the longer insert and a GK's Night booster and have had no leaks.
However... DD tends to soak the front of the nappy while the back stays pretty much dry. I assume this is because she is a tummy sleeper and being a girl it all comes out towards the front IYKWIM.
Is there a way to help wick some of the moisture towards the back so she gets a slightly damp nappy all around and not a soaking one just at the front? Would fleece liners help draw some of the moisture to the back? If I can find a way to get more even wetting then I wouldn't have to boost the nappy so DD looks like she is wearing a beachball under her cover!
