I've tried to find a forum / thread for this but can't find one, so please feel free to point me in the right direction if you know of one.

We have custody of DH's kids and his ex is paying child support. She doesn't work, refuses to work, has debts with housing (should be kicked out as far as I'm concerned) and we get an amazing $6 week in child support.

She has just rung DH and asked why he has only declared such and such amounts on his tax returns for the last two years (which we have just submitted due to business). He asked her how she knew and Centrelink has sent her a letter stating what his earnings have been for the last two years!!!! So now she wants to know why he isn't earning much more since we run our own business (why people assume that if you run your own business you're rich, I have no idea. We live on what we have to have and the rest goes back into the business. Give us another 10 years and we might be doing a lot better).

Is this normal for them to tell the person paying CS what he's earning? I can't believe that they would do that!!! What business is it of hers what he earns? We pay for everything for the kids, including more often than not sending them with food when they visit her for a day visit once a fortnight or less.

I am really angry that they have done this. We didn't get the letter until after they were closed so haven't been able to call them yet, we will be tomorrow.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.

On our child support assessment notices it has hubby's income and hers(I receive CS too and it has mine and his). It's always been like that as far as I remember.

Not sure about it if the letter came from centrelink though.

Yep, CSA assessments show both parties earnings... it has to in order to be a transparent system...

It's only the amount that's stated so that both parties are clear as to what the assessment was based on....

:iagree: CS is calculated on both parents income so it makes sense to have both on there, they don't have any other details on there.
