Just wondering if anyone else has a problem with Baby Love Nappies. I love the fact that they are soo cheap but i'm sick of them leaking when MJ has an "explosive situation."
Being breastfed, she is always loose and everytime this happens - like 20 minutes ago - they leak everywhere. I was checking BubHub, heard her fill the nappy and got straight up to change her again because that noise is all to familiar now and it was everywhere :o  From her ankles to her neck. Needless to say we just had a nice shower together :)
Also, but just annoying, is the little jelly chrystals that i find on her skin everytime I change her. I've contacted Baby Love and they want me to send in a sample for testing, but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this occur? I don't have these problems with Huggies which we also use.
Thoughts / Comments?

i have never had leakage like that... but Ethan is formula fed so its not runny like that...
however i have found that during the nite he often leaks thru them... currently i am trying COSFITS, mainly because they are also 1/2 the price of BABYLOVE... i will keep u posted on how they go.

Hi there,
Just wanted to let you know that I have had the same problem with the baby love nappies with my 4 month old son, Ryan (who is on formula) :( . I too brought them coz they were cheap and recommended to me by my sister in law but found that they leaked each and everytime he worn them. After endless loads of washing and baths for ryan, I have now reverted to the good old huggies :) and haven't looked back.

We got the crystals with Huggies when Chloe would have a very wet night.
We're now in Snugglers, having switched from Huggies. I've had one or two leaks with both but stuck with Snugglers as they seem to fit her better right now. Maybe as she gets bigger we'll go back to Huggies.
yes we had crystals with babylove too. were using huggies infant but now grown out of them and are having leakage with Huggies through the side material. many baths are needed now. They fit but leak through when she explodes. We use snugglers during the day and they are fine but also leak through the edges. but are half the price so I have just taken to putting a huggies on at night and then plastic pants to stop the morning explosions from leaking through before we get to her.. Are there any other nappy brands worth trying.?

i have just started using cosfits... they are really good price and give a good fit, the only down side is that the tabs are sticky tabs not grip tabs.
the great thing about these nappies is that they are around $5 for a small bag so its not a huge waste of money to try them.
You can normally find them at the chemist.

Hi Rainbowbrite,
I have used Huggies, Babylove, and Snugglers, and regardless of the brand, found my little Libby had lots of leaks. It was just the way it seemed to go, and we got the crystals with every brand once they were quite wet. So, now I have given up, and buy Coles 'savings' nappies. 28 for $7.99, I think from memory. They do have sticky tabs, not the grip tabs, but other than that, they are exactly the same. Her poos have settled down now she is on solids (she is still breastfed too), so hopefully that will happen for your little darling too!!!
Hi there
I've been using Babylove since the Huggies changed, and have had no problems until last week.I had a major leak once, and also the jelly crystals started appearing big time.
I've also sent a sample to the makers, still waiting to hear back from them.
We are still using baby love for DD1 with no dramas at all - they hold a huge amount of wee overnight and rarely leak, and when they do I figure that any nappy will at some point. However we have gone back to Huggies for DD2 as the tabs on Baby love were cutting into her chubby little thighs and rubbing them raw. I suspect that once she goes up to the next size we will be fine to use Baby love again.
And we have had crystals leak with all of them - it is just one of those things you put up with using disposables I guess. And they are still a LOT better than cloth in terms of the cleaning up!
I tried the babylove once with my 3mth old because they where on special and found that it did not take much to leak and also for his clothes to get wet. I also had the problem of little crystals everywhere. I went back to huggies and love them, I can put him in one after his bath at night and he is fine for the night and I have never found him to have wet too much. I find them very absorbant. I have not had him leak out the sides or back in about a month either. I guess all you can do is try different brands and see which you think is best and worth paying a little extra for. Maybe you could email the companies and ask for some samples as you have been having problems with some nappies and wanted to try some out, most companies will send you samples.

the reason why Huggies nappies leak less for boys than other nappies is because they design them specifically for boys, mainly by putting more padding in the front where boys pee.
I found just about every brand of nappies leaked with my son until more recently and things have settled down a bit.
Now the only nappies that still leak are the huggies, the baby loves are great for us but i couldnt use them when he was smaller....
Also VIP's are fantastic, i have NEVER had a problem with them
From reading the replies looks as though different brands work or dont work for different kids and different ages....
Cheers

Snugglers work for us. Also Coles or Bilo home branded ones.
I just bought Snugglers nappies for the first time after having used huggies since birth for my now 6.5 mth old DD. EVERY one I have put on her has leaked in under one hour of wearing them...aaaarrrrgggghhhh! It is driving me crazy. I have emailed Snugglers and we will see what the response is. Don't know whether I have just got a bad batch or they just don't work. What does one do with 136 nappies that are no longer of any use!!!!

I agree, the babylove were no good for us, my dps mum bought me 2 bags of baby love & i used one & gave away the other.
huggie might be a few dollars more but ou save money on washing all the wet bedding & all the wet/dirty clothes.
I only use huggies now. not once have they leaked for me.

I've used Huggies and Cosifits (ran out of huggies nappies whilst in hospital and the chemist only sold Cosifits). The Cosifits really do leak. We ended up using up the nappies but only during the day as at night they'd be really leaky (especially with bowel movements). Now I continue to use Huggies. I've only had them leak once and that's when Raleigh had an explody poo (happens sometimes) and in picking her up I snagged the cuff on the leg and the nappy leaked a litte. I've never had problems with crystals either. Then again, every time Raleigh wakes up after a sleep and before she goes back to bed I check her nappy. Even if it is only slightly wet/soiled I change it.
We sometimes get the crystals with the Snugglers we use with our DD but I never regarded it as a problem. She ususally only got it when she was really wet. It is just the absorbing stuff that has come through when your baby is very wet. Not that unusual really. We got it with Huggies, Bebes and Target nappies. Personally, I don't worry about it too much.
Also, I think that some nappies are just suitable for different babies. We found the priceiest Huggies to be too stiff for our DD. Snugglers have been good for us though. When we noticed leaks we just took her up to the next size and then no more leaks. :)

Until recently at home we have always used cloths during the day and babylove at night, although we have tried so many different brands of nappies. My dd always leaked in huggies so we went to babylove and never had a problem only when she was in between sizes. As for snugglers they were useless my dd leaked up her back everytime and when in a change room another mother there was having the same problem. Anyway we are using dispossables all day and night due to bub#2 due soon and we want a rest before we have two lots to wash.
If you live near an ALDI store try the nappies there, I've found them to be great both day and night they are really absorbent and no gel with grip tabs at around $16.00 for 50. They also don't cause any skin irritations as with different nappies my daughter has broken out.
I think each child and size is different so all brands work differently.
Just to let you all know,...Baby Love, Snugglers and Huggies are all made by the same company - Kimberly Clarkson,.. They are just 3 different price options.

Hello,
VIP, Snugglers and Huggies are mad by Kimberly Clarke.
Babylove are a seperate.
As I said in a previous post,I sent a nappy sample to Babylove because of the massive amount of jelly crystals on my daughters skin, well, today I received 4 packs of 22 pack nappies from Babylove(in the right size)which I thought was pretty generous!
The funny thing is,since I sent the sample,I've hardly had a problem with the nappies :p Maybe there were just a few faulty ones in my pack.

wow that is good!!!!
i complained to babylove a little while ago cause on of the nappies in a pack was missing a griptab and they sent me a new pack of nappies.
And their response time was pretty quick to... seeing that cosfits are useless at nite i am going back to babylove at nite...

my DD had serious leakage problems, we tried just about every brand known. The best brand that I have found that fits well and so far from what I can remember are the Target and Coles brands, I assume that they are made by the same people as the two stores are linked and the Bi-lo brand are not brand either. The price is pretty good too...... :)
