View Full Version : sleeping bag thingies for 16 month old
Does anybody know what those sleeping bag thingies are called for children? I know a lot of you use them with your little ones, I just can't remember what they are called. And also if I can use one with my 16 month old DD? I want to ask my MIL to get me some as I'm having probs keeping DD warm at night bcoz she throws her quilt off. Is she too big for one??
you mean gro-bags?? (that is a brand name- although they are good.. they are also expensive) - BIg W has some (with sleeves) at the moment... for about $11
xx
Good luck! Andrew hates them, likes having his legs free. He also doesn't sleep under a blanket. We just make sure he is dressed for the temperature, usually in a fleecy all-in-one suit or flanelette pj's and socks. Nice and toasty, and yet still free to move and roll whenever he feels the urge.
Gro bags!! Thats what theyr'e called! I was thinking 'grog bags'!
Anyone know what age you can put them in them till? Or doesn't it matter?

we use one for DD who is also 16months, we only started using them about a month ago for the same reason she would throw her blankets off during the night and wake up cold at all hours of the morning, she doesn't mind having them on which is good and it makes her extra cuddley in the morning!
I bought mine from Best and Less for about $9 each, much cheaper than target who were selling them for double the price as they had pooh bear pics on them! I'm not sure what the name is for them i've always just called them sleeping bags with arms in them lol!
Good luck
Cheers

umm I think size would matter more than age..
the grobag website is
www.bumpto3.com.au
I got a book in the mail - so I'm sure they would send you a catalogue
(we won our grobag at the parenting expo :smiliedance: it was $83 dollars worth  )
xx
edited to add- they have gro bags for kids 3-6 years old ( I've just read the sizing)

my DD is 18months old & uses them - i get mine from best & less or big w has them on sale at the moment 2 for $20 - they are polar fleece so keep bubs nice & warm & i just add thicker pjs underneath - DD has learnt to walk around in hers! when the weather is warmer i also have ones from big w made in t shirt fabric - all big w sleeping bags go up to size 2
Hi there, the best one to get is a Grobag, They are thermal reated and 100% cotton and will not over heat your baby. Other sleeping bags are not thermal rated. They do sizes 0-6m,6-18 and 18-36m.
you can buy them from www.bumpto3.com.au or you could try Ebay.
Good luck
If anyone knows of anyone who is selling one, or a couple , can you let me know. I have just looked on their website, exactly what I wanted but was looking for something a little cheaper. Like $30-60??
I'V put a wanted add in the section of bubhub aswell. Thanks everyone!!!

i've always called them 'sleeping bag thingies' :o
if your bub hates having her legs contained you can get them with legs - ozzy has a cookie monster one ($17 on special at target) with legs and he loves it coz he can crawl around. he doesn't mind the other one which is just a bag-style, but he tends to fall down a lot if i don't put him in day clothes as soon as he's up!

Ashton is the same he hates them aswell, i put him in some all in one suits i bought frrom best and less, they r just cotton ones.. then i put over the top either his flannie pj's or his tracksuit and jumper we bought just for bed time....
polar fleece is another great material to put them in at night as its really warm....
hope this helps....
Bets and less have polar fleece matching top and bottoms at the moment for
$14-00 and the all in one suits for $11.00......Wondersuits and flannies are a great combo to put together too....

My sister gave us some that she bought from David Jones. They have a section on the bottom that buttons on and off so that they can be worn as a dressing gown in the evening and then you button on the extra bit and it becomes a sleeping bag at night. They are fab because the baby has already got them all nice and warm before heading off to bed.
My DD, 1, sleeps in a sleeping bag made by Snugtime, which I have found great for her! It's polar fleece but cotton lined on the inside as well, unlike the Target brand. It cost about $30. MY DD was also given one of the same brand but it had legs instead of the bag - it's just as good and kept her just as warm with the added bonus of being able to crawl around before bedtime and in the morning when she got up. But perhaps the bag time would last longer sizewise. I'm pretty sure when I bought her the sleeping bag that the shop assistant said it was one of the brands that actually went up to much larger sizes than some of the other, like a size 6 or 7 or something (I might be wrong). I also have a GroBag which I used over spring and summer as it was a bit lighter but still kept her warm during the warmer months.
Thanks for all your answers girlies xxxxxxx
Have you found one yet?
I saw a couple in Myer in the city tonight - they were in a fleecy fabric, looked nice and snug and the biggest size was 2. Forgot to check the price tag, though :o sowwy ...

My daughter loves her sleeping bag at night. I got one the other day from Best and Less for 15 dollars made of polar fleece. I have a gro bag aswell but that is used in much warmer months cost me $60. You can find the sleeping bags in Target, Big W, K Mart and Best and Less.
