Hi Everyone
My almost 12 month old daughter wriggles around so much at night when she sleeps that it is very hard to keep her covered. I have taken the sheet out at the moment as it is not doing anything.
Would love some suggestions as to how you all keep you child covered up at night.
Thanks for your help.

Another GroBag user here
My DS is such a wriggly worm (has been right from the start) so he would never ever stay under covers. The GroBags (as well as some of the other brands) have different 'TOG' ratings so you can use a different one depending on how warm/ cold it is. I'm still using one now (and it's been very hot here in Perth of late!) and using the lightest one they have available (0.5 TOG I think off the top of my head). It's more like a sheet if anything, but obviously moves with them as it's a sleeping bag ;). I still like to use them even when it's hot cause sometimes it can get a little coolish during the early morning hours, and also keeps them covered in case there is a sneaky mosquito floating around (at least most of his body is covered then and less likely to be 'eaten' :D).

Honestly right now, my kids are sleeping with just nappies.
Not really any need for covers at all when it is this hot.

I got mine from a baby shop here in Perth (BabyLand). It's size is from 6-18 months. I do remember when I was buying it they had others there that went up to 24 months and even 36 months (I remember seeing them 'coz I had to dig thru to get a blue one in my DS's size as they had heaps of pink ones in the size I wanted LOL!). Probably not much help 'coz you're not from Perth but I HTH a little...

Just google grobag or sleeping bags, have a look around you can also find them in most baby shops. There are heaps of brands Merino and Mamas and Papas are great.
You can get sizes to fit up to about 6 yrs old I think.
Yep, they are perfect, very worthwhile!

Buy a Bubbaroo sleeping bag. A fabulous Australian company with a product that's much better (IMO) than the foreign Grobags
Google them, you can buy them online and usually cheaper than in the shops. I ordered some new ones on Thursday and they arrived today. They have sizes up to 3 yrs old.
Hi,
We use Merino Kids Go Go Bags. They are woven from merino yarn so they breath and keep you cool when it's warm and warm when it's cold.
They're about twice the price of a Grobag but they last three times as long. There are two sizes- newborn - 2 years and 2-4 years.
I bought the 2-4 year size for Xavier a few months ago when they were on sale and a one year old would fit into it.
Depending on the temperature Xavier either sleeps in-
a nappy and a singlet (boiling hot night)
a nappy and a singlet and gogo bag (warm night)
or
PJ's and gogo bag (normal night)
Also the gogo bag is made from natural fibres so there is little chance of irritating sensitive skin.
I think the bubaroo ones are all natural too. Not filled with polyester that doesn't breath like other brands.
Can you tell I love them? Sorry for the long post but I hope this helps.

Yes they are. They're 100% cotton, except for the heaviest weight ones, but even then the part that is closes to the baby is pure cotton.

Hi Ladies
Thank you so much for all your advice. I will head out tomorrow and get one. I did not know that you could get summer weight sleeping bags.
Thanks again
Suzi
I started using a sleeping bag for DS2 after getting the same amazing advice from fellow BH members and it has made the most AMAZING difference to his sleeping patterns and ability to self settle :smiliedance:
To be honest though I nearly died when I saw the price of the 'Gro Bag' brand sleeping bags...they were like $80+ each where I am!! I managed to find some light weight cotton sleeping bags that are almost identical and do the same wonderful job

I use dreambags, just do a google search and they will come up.
Great quality and such cute deisgns too!!
Started with a grobag but they are so expensive had to find a cheaper alternative as DS gets older...
It is over 40 degrees here most days so he always has his aircon on and he sleeps in nappy and long sleeved shirt to keep his little arms warm and a dreambag, he is now sleeping like a baby LOL
I got a great 0.3 TOG (bascially like T shirt material, pure cotton) one from Target $29, perfect! They don't have them at all the Target's though, so you may have to ring around, they had lots when I looked, from 0.3 TOG right up to the 2.5 TOG winter ones and also ones with long and short sleeves, I was very impressed
I have always thought they Grobag ones are overpriced.
