So Skye is 20 months and still in a cot which is fine but lately she has started climbing out, she still hasn't figured it out yet but I think its only a matter of time before she gets out. I am wondering how old (or young) were your kids when they went into a big bed (single bed). Hayley was 2.5 cos we needed the cot for Skye, but Skye will be 2 (27 months) when bub #3 comes along (though he/she will be in the bassinett for a few months before anyway).
Should I put her into a big bed now or just leave her in the cot (even if/when she climbs out) until the baby comes? I am a bit worried she might hurt herself whilst trying to climb out.
Thankyou in advance.

coop went into his toddler bed at 18mths and is 19mths now. it was the best thing for him as he only had a porta cot, the room wasnt big enough at the time for an actual cot so porta cot was best for us. he only ever climbed out of it once but i think that was with added help from the single bed that was in there. he was also starting to rock the cot at one stage so i was scared he was going to tip it over.
i think he likes the toddler bed as more spread out room but i can no longer put him in his 'jail' where he will stay until i decide he can come out:laughing:

It sounds to me like she's ready. I'm thinking about trying to move my DS when he's around 18 months lol, if he's ready then. I think that he will be at that stage.
I'd try and get her settled into the big bed before the new bub arrives - get all of the big changes out of the way, as part of being a big sister?
