How old for big bed?

So Skye is 20 months and still in a cot which is fine but lately she has started climbing out, she still hasn't figured it out yet but I think its only a matter of time before she gets out. I am wondering how old (or young) were your kids when they went into a big bed (single bed). Hayley was 2.5 cos we needed the cot for Skye, but Skye will be 2 (27 months) when bub #3 comes along (though he/she will be in the bassinett for a few months before anyway).

Should I put her into a big bed now or just leave her in the cot (even if/when she climbs out) until the baby comes? I am a bit worried she might hurt herself whilst trying to climb out.

My DD is 19 months and just recently has went into a toddler bed. Maybe if your DD is climbing out of the cot you might as well give the bed a whirl. Atleast when your 3rd bub is ready for cot your DD should well and truely be used to the bed.

My DD was 12mths, mainly because she got the bed for her birthday, i was ,oving house and i didnt want to set up the cot. She did fine in it, havent had a problem.

DD was just over 2. I would've done it earlier if I could've but we were waiting to move.

DS1 was 14mths when he went into a single bed. Only coz he wanted to be like my cousin who was staying with us for a week.
DS2 was only 9mths and he was on the floor on a mattress until he was 12mths then got moved from the floor to a single bed. He use to hate being in the cot and would scream. I think it had something to do with he shares a room with DS1 and he seen that DS1 was in the bed and well we thought we would trial him and he slept muc better in the bed then the cot.
