Hello everyone,
I just have a quick question. I got my implanon removed in early April and on my second month of TTC. How long did it take you to conceive after you got your implanon removed?
Thanks everyone

Hey all,
I am Sarah I am new. I am going to ttc. I am having my Implanon removed this week and was wondering the same thing. I am a little worried cos Ive heard they can leave you infertile (after I had it inserted) but if thats the case I will try anything for a baby, I couldnt imagine living my life and not having children. Wish me luck! Oh by the way does having the Implanon removed hurt? I am a big wuss :(
My worry was more when I stopped taking the pill after about 10years (before conceiving DS). I'd heard more horror stories about the pill stuffing up your cycle and fertility. In fact one of the reasons I decided on an Implanon after DS was because everyone advocated to me (other girls who had them and the doctors) was that your cycle should return to it's previous activity straight away.
almost 2 years

Hello CaseyorMarshall:wave:
Welcome to Bubhub, I'm a newbie as well.
I haven't heard of the rumour of implanon making you infertile.. in that case, now I'm worried as well. I agree with you, I can't imagine my life without children :D . I am also a big wuss when it comes to pain and I have to say that it wasn't the most pleasant feeling in the world. It hurt worse than them putting it in because they have to use more force to get it removed. My GP also didn't use the same incision that they used to put it in, so now I have two scars instead of one.. I also heard that your cycle should go back to normal quite quickly after you get it removed but it took me a week to get my AF once it was out. Good luck ttc!!!

I had my implanon taken out at the end of March and have had one visit from AF since (9th March). I would like to TTC at the end of 2006 and therefore would love to start tracking my cycles. With no AF that makes it pretty hard!!

HI
 i know how you feel.
I had the implanon removed 2 months ago and we just used condoms as well and one night it broke and i got pregnant. I am extremely fertile too.
Oh well at least i know when it happened exactly as there was only one time it could have.
Hi. I had mine removed 23/11, had a regular af on the 25/12 on a 30 day cycle and by next cycle i was pregnant.
Good luck

I went straight on the pill after getting mine removed... so I'm not sure on regards to fertility.
Mine both sucked getting removed (I had 2over 4 years) Due to the fact that both doc's had only done so on one other patient  And mine took awhile to find, due to crappy placement, better luck for yours caseyormarshall, im sure it'll be fine, try for an experienced doc

Just a rumour. Implanon is the only contraception (aside from abstinence and condoms) that wont alter your fertility at all. Your cycles will generally go straight back to how they used to be. Usually 4-6 weeks after it is removed you will have your first normal period.
Shelbelbabe - like you I went onto the pill after taking out the implanon. I only got mine removed cause it was approaching 3 years and I wanted to give my body a break.
I made sure that I got a dr who had experience inserting and removing them - I didn't want to become another horror story!!!
Best Wishes

Actually a few studies have linked implanon to subsequent infertility, looking for them now...

Hey all,
Well Ive made the appointment to have the Implanon removed but Im a little scared. Its for 2.15pm on Thursday, I wish it could have been today or tomorrow cos at least then my mum could have gone with me cos she is on her days off. My fiancee Ben is going to be at work and my best mate said she couldnt go in with me but she would pick me up as she doesnt think she can have that long off work. :crying: I will be ok but as I have said b4 I am a big wuss. I trust my Dr though he has been my Dr for about 5 years. Oh just another quick q, has anyone heard of Nicobate/Nicorette patches interfering with trying to concieve?(sorry if its a stupid q!) I just quit smoking yesterday. Sorry Im :ecomcity:
Thanks Sarah

Sarah, AF is Aunt Flow (your period basically). :)

About 6 months for me... I had charted my cycles before having implanon and after having it removed my cycles didn't return to how they used to be. My luteal phase was a lot shorter.
Obviously I was not infertile:rolleyes: It just took a bit longer than I thought it would.
Good luck everyone... Hopefully you'll all have a BFP soon:smiliedance:

Thanks everyone for your comments.. I have to wait until the 10th June to get my BFP :fingerscrossed: I'm hoping I am as fertile as when I was before Implanon. We will have to wait and see:rolleyes:
Hi - 3 months after having it in for about 2 yrs - very surprised as it took us over 18months to conceive #1 child...not sure of anyone else's opinion on this, but I felt so much better after having it removed - emotionally/mentally I mean, as though I have been pre menstrual for 2 years! Would not use it again...

Hi all
New to the site, and after reading some of the threads, its nice to know Im not alone.
I had Implanon taken out in September 05 after having it in for 3months and experiencing problems. I have had only one period (January 06) and nothing since having it removed. My partner and I are wanting to concieve but finding it incredible frustrating as I dont believe i am ovulating and am not experiencing any sort of period.
I have been to the doctors and am booked in for more tests however so far to no evail. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing after having Implanon removed?
Thanks.
Zoe
I had mine removed today after nearly 2 years, so it will be interesting to see how things go.
Good luck to all those waiting on BFP's.
