I have started planing out my DD birthday party ( which is not to October :o) and decided to post my plans on the hub so someone else can benifit from them ( and so I dont lose them:laughing:)

Theme: Willy Wonka and the chocalate factory.

I plan to hold it at the back of the propety I will be living at the time (AKA my work) the invites will be golden tickets with "Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this golden ticket! You're invited to a Willy wonka and the Chocolate Factory Party to celebrate Rory's 2nd birthday, so and so" on them.

Colour theme will be purple and brown ( ballons, table cloth ext), Im going to K-mart,Target to buy there leftover big candycanes and those giant tobarones. The centerpeice will be a bowl filled with giant freckles and smarties with a Oompa Loompa statue in the middle.

games:Pin the hat on Willy

Bubble blowing contest ( most of the kids are either my cousins or my friends siblings so 7-100)

Egg and spoon race

chocolate bar hunt

Marshmellow mouth: The kids get marshmellows put in there mouth and say Augustus Gloop. The last person who dosent lose there marshmellows or laugh wins.

I want a squirral: sorta like musical chairs, but with a toy squirral in the middle and when the music stops the 1st person to grap the squirral and shout " I want a squirral" gets a point after 15 rounds you have a winner.

And last but not least Im borrowing our projector screen to show the original movie.

Food: Not really sure about this but I know we will have a donut and fairyfloss marchin

:devil6:Mwahaha there are going to be some very sick tummies ( Mine inc)

It sounds awesome!!!
maybe you can provide some nuts (there are nuts in the movie :P)
and a few savoury things
but other than that, just awesome!!! and for a second birthday, which he won't remember.
you'll have a tough time out-doing yourself. (and it waaaay beats a macdonalds birthday party :p)

sounds great but a lot of work for yourself for a 2nd bday....would be better for a 7th or 8th bday

 Most would think so but I plan to use it as a starting block to messure her future parties on.
I want them to be able to put
Here lies Georgia, Notorious birthday planner on my headstone.
Its the day that Rory,my heart, was welcomed to the world, it has to be a big event.

Sounds absolutely awesome (I wanna golden ticket too ) but just want to say be very very very careful with this one....

I'm a teacher and we've been given a specific memorandum from the Education Department on this - as funny as it is (and I know, been there, done that :D) it's a huge, huge chocking hazard so if you have a large no. of people, especially young people attempting it at the same time you may be creating a huge risk for yourself

but enough of the downer...back to wonderful planning ideas

:iagree: Sorry to bring the mood down but Oprah had a thing on this a little while ago about a little girl dying as the marshmellow "melts" the longer it's in your mouth and can clog up your windpipe. She suffocated.

The whole party sounds fantastic though...you are so creative  With easter coming up too you should be able to pick up some good specials post easter before the party.

sounds great:laughing: you could even hire one of them chocolate fountains if you wanted to go all out. but the candy canes are good ideas, and chocolate coins.
