Hi,

We moved to Brisbane 18 months ago, I had my first two in Sydney, fist hospital was ****, second was brilliant...

Now, considering number three, can someone tell me which hospitals in Brisbane take public patients? I know redlands does, but not sure which others. We are in bayside, and I prefer to be as close as possible to the hospital, but need a good one.

Well we've only been here for almost 7 months and I'm not sure where Bayside is, but I was told that where you live determines where you give birth. I called the Royal Brisbane Hospital and they said I needed to live on the 'north side' to deliver there. There is also the Wesley, Mater and Ipswich hospitals. I'm at Ipswich hospital. Maybe call around and see which ones are closest to you?

If you live on the Bayside, and are going public, you would usually deliver at Redlands Hospital (or the Mater Mothers Public). good luck with your pregnancy

I had my dd at the Mater Mothers public (in the city). I believe there is one out near the bay as well.
I had a fantastic experience there, and would recommend it to anyone.

The Royal, as far as I thought, was the main public hospie in brisbane, I don't know why you'd be told that you had to be on the northside to go there - one of the girls on Bubhub lives 3+ hours north of Brisbane and is delivering there!

I'm going to the Royal, I really like what's happening as far as my care goes - however I do have nothing to compare it to being my first time!

They have free pre and post natal exercise class which is a bonus. :)

Had both my babies at the Royal Womens, emergency C/S the first time and elective the second time. Both experiences were fantastic (apart from my room mate who was a bit of a nutter:eek: )
