I am looking for some advice on cloth training pants/undies.
I haven't started using any yet, but was just wondering if anyone was using some, which ones and what features are important. I saw some nice ones on the Darlings site but they are pull on and off and I imagine that in the case of a number 2, I wouldn't really want to be pulling pants off, would rather undo at the sides IYKWIM...
Well I dont know if you want my advice cos I buy el cheapo ones at best and less but I love em :D. DS is only 13 months but he goes in his potty or outside. He tells me when he needs to go. I went to best and less and picked up his cute little pants for $3.00.
I bought them because I hate nappies in summer. Anyway since I started using them he hates wetting or pooing himself:thumbsup: which I totaly understand. It started off that he would whinge before he did anything and I'd take the pants off and let him run wild outside and do wee's or poos. Now he will go in a potty. I love, love, lvoe our training pants. Oh and if he does poo in them I find it doesnt cause a problem pulling them off even if they're not solid poos. They look adorable too:bee:

Oh, I was thinking about this, too. Would be interested in anyone's imput!
Bumpity bump!
We have OWP from Noonne Wilga. I'm only sending them to daycare though, cause they have the PUL backing, so helps with any little oopsies. They seem to hold more than the cheapy ones. I've also made a couple of pairs. Mostly at home, we just go with undies, they are easy for her to take off and we have wooden floors, so accidents aren't that bad to clean up. Not that we've had many, she's doing very well. Soon I'll have none in nappies, my babies will have all grown up :(

I used the towelling pants from best & less as well, I agree Leisa, they look so cute with just these on!
Pulling them down if they have done a poo is no real drama, the pants are stretchy and if the poo is solid it just sort of hangs down in the pants (TMI, sorry!). If you want something waterproof they are no good - but they do have a bit of extra padding through the middle so if wee'd in they stop a big flood.
With my now 5yo, the year she was TT we spent a week at home at the beginning of summer with her in undies all the time. We did a few short trips to the park or shops but basically we just stayed close to home.
Goodluck!

we used snap-eze training pants, mainly for nights, they come with an insert that goes in like a pocket and you can add more to it for heavier wetters. It has a microfleece lining to keep bums dry, and that was really hard to find, most are designed to let children feel wet so they learn..but for night, I don't want DD waking up with rashes every morning. They pull up and down and they have side snaps in case of poos. We found them to be perfect even though DD hardly ever wet in them even at night right from the start. We used undies straight away in the days when she was really ready to use the potty so no need for training pants to help her learn and she hardly had accidents.
