My name is Roxanne (shortened to Roxy) & I love my name.
My family have further shortened my name to Rox - Which is a liberty I only let them do ;)

Up side is I can use both names ( I prefered Roxanne when I was working - a suit and the name Roxy just don't go together ;)

The annoying thing about it is I get to see my name emblazzoned across a multitude of teenage girls butts and breasts thanks to the surfie clothing label 'Roxy'

I have only ever met one other Roxy/Roxanne so it's not a popular name.

On the teasing side of things I got Foxy Roxy in high school which I wasn't very comfortable with. ( a side affect of that quit smoking campaign with the fox called Roxy LOL :D )

I knew a Roxanne and her name was shortened to Xanne pronounced Zan. I really loved this.

Me & DP like Roxy/Roxi too... I'm thinking Roxanna or Roxannah (still not sure on the spelling) as a more formal name.

I know of a Roxy and her sister is Siggy.

Both not shortened for anything.

My nickname is Rose as part of Rosanna and it would be so embarrassing for me when my friends had dogs named Rose...i could never tlel if theyw ere talking to me or their puppy. My roommate in university had a dog named Roxy...it's definately not my style for a baby girl, there are so many other pretty names....but thats just my opinion of course :hugs:

I think Roxana was the original name; it sounds quite grand, in contrast to Roxy, giving her options for what to use in different situations.
