Hawthorne/Bulimba Mother's Group

Hi,

Just wanted to let people know of a group of mums and bubs who meet every Wednesday morning in the Hawthorne / Bulimba area. Our bubs range from 'soon to be born' to three and a half. We're all pretty much in our 30's and would love to meet some new mums!

We tend to arrange week to week where we are going to meet via a group email, but it's usually either at a local cafe, a park or someone's house. Once a month we venture out for dinner and leave the little ones at home with Dad.

My name is Jody, and I have a 16 month-old boy named Darcy, and an eight year-old daughter named Georgia. Let me know if you'd like to meet up for a coffee or play in the park one day, or join us one Wednesday!

I've been meaning to come to this group but something keeps happening at the last minute...today it's cleaning vomit out of the car!

Anyway, just wanted to say that I still intend on coming one day and I'm not a snob!

Sorry for not responding sooner - I seem to always forget to check posts, and instead, rely on email.

Yes - we still meet each Wednesday, either at Hawthorne Park, a cafe, or someone's place. We tend to decide in the days leading up, via a group email.

Sonja - we'd love you to join us. Why don't you email me on jodyoc@bigpond.net.au and I can give you the details for this coming Wednesday. Danielle, if you like I can send you an email too. I know how some weeks can get - I've had a shocker - one of my parents in hospital, my 17 month-old broke his arm (at Mother's Group!!!!) and so forth, so don't feel bad.

South Bank Mum - I work Mondays and Tuesdays so I know what a juggling act it can be. Happy to meet up for a coffee at some other time though if you are keen.

Anyway - my son is attempting to climb in the dishwasher, so bye for now.

Thanks Jody - I am trying to get mums to south bank for a monday or saturday meet up in early july so will try this and then get more adventurous thinking about heading out to bulimba in the near future. I'm still at that stage where going out with baby and without partner helping seems 'big' and daunting but I'm sure it gets easier.
