Hi,

I am an aussie living OS. I am in aus nw on holiday. I had bub in Aus, one month later I moved OS.

Now, i realy need to see the doc for DD asap. But she doesn't have a medicare card. I want to see my family doc (who saw me throughout preg). As far as I know she accepts bulk billing only. Is there any way I can see a doc asap? I hope one of you might had been in similar situation and can help me out.

I'm an Aussie who had my 1st 2 children in Ireland. I had them made Aussie citizens as soon as they were born and got their medicare card organised asap.

As your bub is an Aussie citizen I would go to a medicare office with your baby's birth cert and tell them the situation. They should be able to enrol her immediately and give you a paper makeshift medicare card until the real one is sent out to you. You'll need your partner's signature on the form (I think).

But feel free to ring Medicare, they are very helpful.

Best of luck
