Am i the only one who isnt a fan of weekends?? It seems all my friends have family things going on, my sister is out and its just DS and i.... not that im complaining but sometimes i find weekends lonlier than weekdays as during the week we have something on everyday... I was wondering if anyone else would be keen to do a meet up on a saturday or sunday morning at the park or somewhere?

i think its because we are "replaced" on the weekends which is totally understandable.... but sometimes its nice to be also remembered!!

yeah thats it
it would be nice for them to drop in before they went out
or even durin the day
makes you feel a little loved
I'm not a huge weekend fan either. It's ok now that my mum has weekends off, but it was hard when she didn't.
No Dr Phil, everyone is off having fun and poor little me is stuck at home.. no swimming, no kindergym, no work :(

I used to feel that way too. But I make sure that if I have any single friends I include them in everything I would include couple friends in. Plus I don't spend much time with family so I know how it feels when you don't have family to do stuff with.
I prefer to do stuff with a group of people any way, it's heaps more fun. Except S E X with my hubby that's where I draw the line.

I love the weekends cause I don't have to go to work!! Just kidding I love my job. I never understood why theres nothing on tv on weekends, I would think it would be better things all day on tv on the weekends cause thats when everyones home from work??
Yeah weekends can get really boring at night especially - thank god for the internet!

I hate weekends too.
Even though am married my DH is overseas so i feel more lonely on the weekend because that is when we would be spending time together if he was home.
On weekdays i doesn't seem so bad - i can find things to do but once the weekend rolls around i am usually pretty sad.
Everyone is out with family etc and i'm alone with bub.

Weekends are booooring! :sleeping::rolleyes:
We sometimes go to family or in-laws or close friends but otherwise we're at home all day.
I need to get out. :hair:

i dont mind the weekend days for shoppin and chillin out but i always feel like a loser friday saturday night, when i cant go out and i just watch tv and go to bed like any other night! i think weekends can be one of the lonliest times for single mums....we definately should start catching up on weekends.

I feel exactly the same - I have to sit at home alone (with DS sound asleep in his bed of course) and listen to my neighbours twice my age going out and having fun :(

I was just thinking the same thing! A single parent community would be awesome if it's anything like here :D

Hi, yes can totally relate. The weekends are for when you do things as a family and to be honest I've spend the past three years as a family with my son and I and now I'd like to share that with someone else.
And since I haven't met the right guy yet I'm looking to meet friends to do things with on the weekends too in Sydney. I have a four year old son.
give me a buzz

I LOVE weekends! No work. Get the house clean, have sleep ins, do nothing. So nice.
Plan a train trip (DS has been bugging me to go on the train for AGES now).
Plan a picnic.
Go to the pools
Mum of one boy- have you checked out the Sydney Festival site? There's great free events in there. We regulary go to homebush for movies in the overflow- I think this weekend is Kung Fu Panda!
weekends are kinda like every other day to me:yes:
i tend to do stuff on mondays (my sisters day off:laughing:).
sometimes on fridays nights my friend will come over for a few drinks, but alot of the time she ends up going out while i stay at home, plus i still have to get up at 7.30 so late night s are a no-no.:o
sometimes I feel depressed that i can't go out like I used to.
Other times I am happy to stay at home as getting old lol :D
it is hard.
I know excatly what you mean.
The kids and I are so busy during the week with school, work, playgroup, swimming lessons and meet ups with my sisters, my friends and their kids.
On the weekends it seems we are forgotton and i think its because all my friends and family are all married with kids and they like to spend the weekend with their hubbies and kids which is understandable, thats what i used to do when i was married but now im single its like... hmmm, now what?
