Welcome to Oz! I'm from the UK and have a 2 year old boy. We lived in the CBD for 4 years however now we live about 40 mins south Sydney. Have you heard about the early childhood health clinics? It is a good way to meet other mums and find out about mothers groups etc. I would recommend going to the one in Randwick :)

Have called our local clinic and they were really helpful going on tue to the drop in centre and she said they can put me in touch with some groups! Its tricky cus only staying where we are on Pitt st for six weeks. Just starting our search now for a more permanent home.

Hello Popsmum,
Welcome! :)

I'm not originally from the UK but I was living there for 1 half year before moving to Australia. I'm living close to the CBD..just 20 minutes walk. ;)
Btw, as Larski said, yeah Glebe would be your local ECHC.
