View Full Version : babie books - routine/sleep advise
hi all,
just wondering if anyone can share with me any books that they have read to help them raise there babies. if so can you please tell me the name of them. keen to read up and teach my 9 month old son to put himself to sleep during the day. does at night as he is in a grobag but during the day he stands up and shakes cot........ dont want to use the grobag during the day in case i confuse his routine.
I love The Baby Whisperer by Tracey Hogg.
Not everyones cup of tea though.
Maybe see if you can get it from the library for a look before buying it.
Good luck!
Hi there,
Try" Save our sleep" by Tizzie Hall. It is a really good book
You can get it from her website www.saveoursleep.com.au
or you can buy it from www.bumpto3.com.au
Good Luck I hope this helps.
Kylie
Also recommend the Baby Whisperer and Gina Ford 'The contented little baby book' pretty strict routine but it worked really well for us in conjuction with the Tizzie Hall routines, I just tweaked them to suit my day.
I'm also a Gina Ford follower....works a treat for me, but gave me nightmares when I read the book while I was pregnant!!
Is there something wrong with using a grobag in the day? Do you mean he might not know it is a night-time sleep? Just curious, my boy is only 5months but has all his sleeps in his grobag.

"Babywise"
Best book ever! It made such a difference to DD's sleep, would recommend to anyone!
hi sueb21,
after reading tizzie halls book i have put him on this routine and sleep him in bag during the day. i thought it may confuse him but its worked a treat. thanks
Interesting to hear! To answer your original question, I have all 3 of the Baby Wise, Baby Whisperer and Gina Ford (although only really borrowed the routine times from her). I haven't got the Tizzie Hall book as I figured 3 books was enough at this point!! Oh dear.

I also have the Gina Ford book -- really helped us and now Ash is in a great routine although she has started to wake up during the night again (she is 8 months) and during the day I have to rock her 1/2 to sleep before putting her down as she just stands straight up (even in her sleeping bag) and crys until I pick her up. I have tried controlled crying with her as I didnt want to make a habit of rocking her again, but she wouldnt have a bar of it. If anyone can give me a few tips to get out of this habit that would be great!!!!

"Baby Love" by Robin Barker is the best book!
It answer's just about any question you have and she also has one for the next stage "The Mighty Toddler"
I used Baby Love for both my babies and found it amazingly helpful, like having your own CHN on hand, can totally recommend it!
