View Full Version : Baby Clothes Sizes
I know done the topic many times on baby clothes, but I was shopping today and at Best & Less... is it just me or are their sizes bigger than normal (kmart etc)
The 000 stuff looked monsterous so I didn't know if I should get the gear that I wanted to get or not.. or if simply it's all the same sizze as 'regular' 000 stuff and I was just not thinking right.
It's not the first time I've thought that. So I thought I might post on bubhub and some of the experienced mums can help me out :D
(can anyone tell that Friday is my day off work, I swear my post count shoots up on Fridays)

I find Best & Less sizes more of the correct sizing & Kmart to be small but maybe im wrong i dunno :o
But for me having a big baby the B&L stuff was a lot more roomy & gave him growing space whereas Kmart stuff i always have to get a size bigger which means a size 3 atm
Target always seems to be a little generous or at least on track in size for us also.
Remember your best to get a range of sizes etc & it doesnt matter if one is bigger or smaller as it will depend on whether you have a long baby, a short baby, a small baby or a hippo like mine lol. All sizes vary so much its ridiculous i measure mine against Boof nowadays as there is such a variance just to be sure.
Good luck !

Best and less are bigger than K-mart and Target...bonds wondersuits are quite teeny.
You can tell I normally shop at kmart aye? that's who I'm obviously comparing to...
I normally expect Kmart to be more roomy in their clothes and target to be more snug - at least that's how it goes when I'm trying to buy for me!
I got lost in kmart today shoe-shopping LOL

Pretty much all of Boof's clothes come from Kmart, B&L & Big W.
As we tend to be rather tight with money now but he does have a lot of Target stuff my mum & sister buy.
Nothing wrong with it especially as they look gorgeous in half the stuff !
I know there's nothing wrong with kmart :D Lots of Nuggie's stuff is kmart and big w :) the Target stuff can be so cute but sooo exy!
I'm a Kmart shopper through and through.... only hit Target when they have sales on... hehehe.....
A true cheapskate.... learnt my bargain hunting skills from my pop!!

My MIL just bought Charlee 2 jumpsuits for winter, one from B&L, and one from bigW. The best & less one is sooooo much bigger and longer than the other one, i'm afraid she might not get to use it before winter runs out. I've noticed it with alot of their clothes, some i even buy a size smaller than normal.

Here is what I've discovered from my baby purchases...
Bonds: A size smaller than "normal"
K-Mart: Normal
Best and Less: A size larger than normal
Target: Normal
Pumpkin Patch: A size smaller than normal
Big W: Normal
However, often if you actually read their sizing chart, the sizes work out to be what they're supposed to be. For example, in one brand, a size 0 will be for a baby 10kg in weight and approx 12-18months in age...whereas another brand with a size 0 will be made to fit a baby size 8kg and for approx 9-12months in age.

Thanks for the tip SassyMummy, I just relised, I have not checked the lables properly.:o
but I love B&L they have some very cute out fits,(well if you ask me they were even better than the stuff I bought from David jones:yes:)
Ive found pumpkin patch pretty normal sizing if slightly larger (with tops). Target are a larger sizing than kmart.
Bonds I dont often use but the body suits seem to be small - she has a bonds hooded top thats a reasonable size though.
