Help! I can't have sex!

Oh boy, this is an embarrassing problem, but I really need some advice. I'm just seven weeks pregnant and for about a week now, my lower abdomen has been really tender. My hubby and I tried to have sex today but I had to stop him. (I'm trying to word this delicately). With every in and out movement my tummy was just really, really hurting. Not the kind of hurt that might be from thrush or a urinary tract infection, and not cramping type pain either. Just really sore in the lower abdomen area. It's even been sort of hurting sometimes to sit down - like hurting inside. I've made a doctors appointment for tomorrow afternoon but I hoped you wonderful ladies might have some advice. Could it maybe just be constipation? I don't really know what that would feel like. I'm not taking iron tablets yet but my usual daily toilet habits haven't been as regular as pre-pregnancy. I'm also worried it might be an ectopic pregnancy but again i know very little about what that would feel like. It even hurts to wear trakky pants with an elastic band if its around that area. Any ideas? :confused:

I'm afraid i can't shed any light on the subject for you, but you may be right about your bowels being part of the problem. I hope things improve and you can resume normal activity soon!

Yes it very well could be constipation, try and drink a bit of prune or cranbery juice.

It could also be ligament pain maybe?

I just thought maybe its not pregnency related and maybe your apendix?? If the pain gets worse before you see your doctor i would head to the ED.

Could be constipation as that area may be a little senssitive at the moment, maybe your cervix is a little sensitive too.
Glad your asking you doc as I don't have much idea:)

Well, I've been to the doctor and it's maybe not good news. I have an ultrasound first thing tomorrow morning to see if the pregnancy is ectopic. I'm trying not to panic until I know for sure but I'm feeling pretty hopeless.:( I'll keep you posted.
