HI
has anyone got any tips on how to get a 4-5 month baby to do more than catnap in ner pram/stroller?

She is in one of those joggers that can go flat but strapped in on her back. She will only sleep for about 30 minutes in it !!! Fine for if Im out during the day for a couple oif hours but we want to start going out in the evening for dinner...and we really need her asleep for an hour or two while we eat....

trouble is her pref sleeping position in her cot is on her side/ tummy ( please no neg comments)

does anyone else have this problem ? and any tips? She does the same in the car seat too...........
cheers
PS she is not wrapped either

I think it's just something that some bubs do and others don't. My DS and DD1 wouldn't sleep in the pram after they were about 6 weeks old. DD2 is 13 weeks and rarely snoozes when we're out either.

I don't think it's something you can make happen if they don't want to.

I did find it difficult to get my ds to sleep more than 45 minutes (the usual time for 1 sleep cycle) in the pram. He was wrapped til 10 months, so he would be wrapped and then strapped into the pram if I wanted him to sleep.

Going out with a 4 - 5 month old is a challenge. They sleep so unpredictably with regards to time, that I really found this age quite challenging. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

I used to take the bassinet attachment for our pram when going out for dinner bub up until he was about 7 months (then it was impossible and I couldn't be bothered anymore lol!) he would only sleep in that because he slept on his belly/side too.

Can you put bubs on her side and just make sure you keep checking up on her?

My DS never slept in the normal seat attachment for longer then 10 mins or so when out.

I don't think I could sleep longer than 30 mins in a stroller either. They must be so uncomfortable!

I agree with Freya about the bassinet attachment.. Would be a little less uncomfortable?
