Im 18 weeks pregnant and in the last week i have starting to get itchy legs first and no my arms. Its worse at night. There is no rash just a constant itchy feeling on my skin.
Has anybody else experienced this? I googled itching in pregnancy and came up with cholestasis but im really hoping that it isnt this.
Anyone had cholestatasis?

Could it just be dry skin? My skin is SO dry now that I'm pregnant and it is really itchy!
Are the palms of your hands or soles of your feet itchy?

Yeah it feels just like the itchiness you get when your skin is dry but mine isn't. I moisturise min twice a day before it started and now im moisturising more to see if it helps which it isn't :(.
No i dont have itchy hands or feet. I dunno, if it keeps up i will go see the gp. My ob appointment is not for another week.

I had itching from 32 weeks with my pregnancy and it was due to Cholestasis. Started with the palms of my hands, between my fingers, soles of my feet and up my arms. My OB checked my bile salt levels and thats where he came up with the Cholestasis, otherwise was told it would have been just a normal pregnancy rash. I switched to QV Wash instead of soap and had cooler showers, stayed away from high fat foods (hard when you're craving potato scallops and chocolate!) and generally tried to keep cool which all helped. He prescribed me some medication which also helped relieve the itch.
Hope all is ok and it's not Cholestasis for you and that your itching subsides.
I was like this with my 3rd and 4th babes....I just made sure I kept up with the vitamin e cream...but I used to say I was allergic to being preg..LOL

I had the itch too. It was so annoying I would get up and take a shower and replace the sheets on the bed. Drove me crazy sometimes. Everything becomes more sensitive during pregnancy - even your skin. I used an Ego wash too instead of soap and I think that helped a bit. Also the tiniest bit of grit on the sheets would start it so I kept the sheets clean and sun dried. The good news is that it went away after the baby was born. :flowerz:

i've had this itchy feeling on my legs too, since about 20 weeks. usually when i'm lying on the couch or trying to get to sleep at night - it feels like there are little bugs crawling all over my legs, it drives me crazy!
i googled it last night, (i google everything lol) and i read about restless leg syndrome. apparantly its common during pregnancy. my legs kick around a lot when i'm asleep, but when im trying to get to sleep its just the itchy, crawly feeling. it can also affect your arms.
you can google "restless leg syndrome during pregnancy" and heaps of info comes up...
does this sound like its the same for you? hope this helps :o
