Hi all..

My 2month old little guy has been on Neocate for 4 days. He has silent reflux, and while the Losec is starting to manage his pain, he was still having painful wind and lots of pain before every BM on his soy formula so we were recommended to try Neocate.

Four days in he is taking more of his bottles than before and seems to be sleeping better but he is still having very painful gas and trouble doing his poos... It wakes him up - which is so dissappinting because he slowly starting to sleep for longer... :fingerscrossed:

Did anyone else on Neocate find that painful wind continued? Is it short term? Or have we not found the solution to the problem yet....??

you may find it takes up to about 4 weeks for the system to rid the inflamation caused from the old formular so that could be the isue

WE found with DD she stil had wind pain and spasms on necoated, It was confirmed during a xray that showed her Jenenum ( small bowel) was ful of air seeminly during an intolerance that is the area that produces gas

I would give it a bit longer and see how you go 4 days isnt long at all

Hi Miki's Mum.. thanks for your response.

How long did you find it took for Miki's wind pain on neocate to subside?

As always I agree with Miki's mum lol !

For us it took a good few weeks before G was having less pain & for all the meds & Neocate all to be working together iykwim to help him.

There was an immediate difference though but it did still take a few more weeks before he was truly settled.

Hang in there :hugs:

I agree with the 2 above... my DD didn't tolerate Neocate well and we went onto Elecare which worked perfectly, so don't worry there are other options... It can take awhile, they could also try adding Zantac to his medication's and there are lots of other options if that doesn't work!!!!!

we had the exact same problem. DD's colic had finally subsided but the reflux was still bad so we tried Neocate. But within 3-4 days of only half/half neocate (she wouldn't drink it on its own), the colicky symptoms came back really badly. They went away once we put her back on the Nan HA.

We've just tried Pepti Jnr and after a day, she was screaming and probably TMI but her BM absolutely reeked. It was horrible. No more pepti, no more screaming.

Back to the paed again for us!
