Dr Browns bottles vs Avent bottles

Just wondering has anyone used Dr Brown's brand of bottle? How do they compare to the Avent ones? they seem similar in price, however no one i actually know has used the Dr Brown ones.

I haven't used them either, I've only ever seen them on the UK target website - but I've used the avent bottles. They're great, but DD hated the teats. After LOTS of research and tries, she settled on the pidgeon periolistic (?SP) teats - they're a lot softer and more pliable, more like breast I suppose. Luckily they fit the avent bottles - otherwise we would have outlayed a lot of money for nothing!

we have used both. I found the Dr Brown's are better when babies are youngish (under 6 months) as it helps with gas. It definitely helped Jess and seems to that she drank alot faster and it didn't take 1/2 an hour to feed her. Make sure you get the fast flow teat even when they are young. I love the Avent bottle now as it seemed when she was younger even with the fast flow teat she had to suck really hard to get any milk out

I have a bunch of Dr Brown bottles and teats (I think I have 12-ish bottles and maybe 6 teats in stage 2 size?)...I've hardly used them! (Some haven't even been used).

A friend ordered them from the US when I was pregnant, but they're pretty useless IMO. They're SUPPOSED to prevent colic, and DD never ever had colic (even on other bottles). I just found that the dr brown bottles made her throw up more...and the flow sucked.

I think you should start off with a few different bottles and test them all out. See which works best and THEN load up on that brand. Different bubs like different things (and at different ages too...DD used to LOVE NUK teats...now she's into Pidgeon Peristaltic Teats).

I like Avent better only because the Brown bottles I had were to reduce wind and had a lot of small parts that needed to be cleaned by hand after every single use which got annoying FAST lol:banghead: :laughing: But then again I hated washing and sterilizing bottles anyway.........much preferred the easy care breast feeding method :p

Besides my son had reflux no matter if I was bfing or ffing with different bottles, it was something he had to grow out of.

I too like the pigeon teats they are great coz are more like a nipple (softer).
