Hi everyone

Wondering if anyone can help. DH has come home from work with what looks like a blood vessel has burst in the corner of one eye. Its awful to look at, but it doesn't hurt, if someone hadn't told him today, he would have no idea it was there. Any ideas what may have cause it. DH is a shocker for going to the doctors, so I said well I will post on bub hub :D. Hope :fingerscrossed: someone can help.

Hiya

I had this happen to me a year or so ago. I didn't know until I got home from work and looked in the mirror when brushing my teeth and almost passed out from the shock!

I have no idea what caused it, but I do remember that it faded very quickly, a day or two at most. I didn't go to the doctor either, although I would have if it hadn't had faded so quickly.

Thanks Nicole, I am probably worrying about nothing. It is so awful, if it isnt gone in a couple of days I think I will put my foot down and tell him to go to the doctors. Thanks Again. :)

Hi
We haven't covered eyes in my course yet - that one's next week so I'll ask the lecturer and see what she has to say out of interest sake but I certainly hope it's better by next Wed. Poor thing hope it gets ok real soon.

sounds like it could be a burst blood vessel but if it's still there in a day or so I'd cart him off yelling and screaming to the docs - typical male hey!!!!

My friend had that happen to her a while ago what caused it with her was her blood pressure shooting up really high one night:(

Well this morning my mother told me that last night it had been sore just below the corner of the eye, apparently I was there when he said this...umm I am blaming lack of sleep :o

Anyway he told this morning that if its still bad tommorrow he will go to the docs, and thats only because he has the day off, otherwise i would have to cart him off yelling and screaming!! You nail it in one butterflyKissees -a typical male!! Let me know what your lecturere says, though we will probably chat before hand - just a minute its my turn for the email isnt it :o

Thanks Cathyn, hopingg its not anything like that. That might make him go to the doctors for sure when I tell him that!

I will let you know what happens.

My DD was born with a burst blood vessel in her eye - pressure in the birth canal according to the doc.
It looked awful but it was nothing to worry about, it didn't hurt her. It took a long time to go away though, probably about a month.
It's probably nothing, don't worry.

DH just went to the Doctor and thankfully it is nothing serious, just a burst blood vessel that could have happen with a simple rubbing of the eye. The doctor took his blood pressure which was fine as well. The only thing the doctor said was his weight, DH has put a bit on lately - too much junk food at work and not enough exercise. As much as I love my husband no matter how he looks, I do believe he needs to lose the weight for his heath. DH does know he needs to lose some weight but hearing it from a professional may help him be more motivated. Thanks for all the posts, just thought I would let you know what happen.
