HI:wave:
My 7 week old bubby girl has bad nappy rash and it is obvious that her poo is burning her bottom. The rash is only in that area! Could the foods that I am eating be the cause of this? I use cloth nappies and water and flannels to clean her so I am thinking that chemicals on her skin isnt the problem.
If it is what I am eating how do I figure out what it is that is causing the problem?
Thanks :flowerz:
Baby poo contains lactic acid that can burn their delicate bottoms. Be sure to change her nappies as soon as the poo is complete, clean her gently (don't rub her bottom with the cloth wipes), use a barrier cream to stop the poo getting onto and irritating her bum (Bepanthan or pawpaw ointment or something) and give her some nappy free time every day so that the air and sunlight can help with the healing process :)

I agree but you will need to go a natural cream like paw paw or Brauers so that you dont ruin the cloth nappies as well as using a good liner ... Depending on what you are using as your liner it might be an idea to try a different one as this could be the cause of the irritation as some fabrics can cause a reaction on little bums !
If you still feel there is an issue then I would look into your diet to make sure that there isnt anything thats affecting her but this will become more obvious if there is.
Good luck !

DD had a REAL problem with alot of stuff I ate early on. It didn't result in anppy rash but bad colic. If you do a google search it's pretty easy to find websites with lists of foods to avoid in the first 6-8 weeks.
depending on bubs tummy it can take longer. It's taken 6 months for DD to handle me eating normally again
good luck
