I am due to give birth at Joondalup hospital in jan/feb. My due date is feb 3rd however everyone (including the doctors) think ill go a couple of weeks early.

So... i was wondering who else is due in jan/feb and giving birth at Joondalup hospital?

I thought it would be a good idea to see how many of us there is, ur due date, and also if this is ur first bub, or if u have any previous kiddies. You never know, we could end up in hospital at the same time!

I am not due until end of June but I will be having it at Joondalup and I would be interested in finding out how it went and what the people there were like etc if you don't mind.

Although you'll probably be far too busy once it's all done to write a 'review' LOL.

Hi DungeonKeeper... well i have been admitted 3 times and so far this pregnancy & i have been treated really well. All the midwives and doctors (except 1 MW) are exceptionally nice and do there best to make u feel at home amd comfortable (as much as u can be in a hospital). I'll let u know how i go and my experience.

Hey there,

Well I had my gorgeous baby boy Jordan on Feb 7 at Joondalup and it was the most amazing experience ever. i was induced, and had Heather as my midwife. She was awsome and stayed with me throughout the whole labour. I would strongly recommend her to anyone who gets the choice! I ended up staying for 5 days as Jordan wasnt feeding or holding his own temperature very well, and everyone that looked after us was great. I will be defenately going through Joondalup public again next time round.

Hope this puts ur mind at ease ladies! Any questions, feel free to ask!

HI cookie087

I too had my bub at Joondalup on Sat Feb 7 ! but not untill 11.17 pm ! i did not go up to the hospital till about 8 pm ish! As i think i was the only one up in the birthing suites i gather you had your bub earlier in the day! I was in hospital till the thusday as my bub was in the special care unit for afew days with jaundice and a raised temp etc.... All good now tho!
I had a baby boy Chas which is a liitle brother for his twin brothers Rory and Levi who are 3 in June. Wow fancy finding someone who had the bub on the same day at same hospital! Cool!
I did not meet many mums up there i was so exhausted if i wasnt in the special care unit i was trying to sleep or expressing!
I can not say how happy i was with my experience at Joondalup ! Most of the midwives are fantastic and the specail care unit staff are fantastic!
I was due on feb 3 but went into labour 4 days over!!

Well i mite check to see if you are in the feb chat group i posted on last night!
Cheers Sal:shakehands:

Hi Cookie087, Congrats!!

Just wondered what Joondalups feeding policy is? I had my DS back in the UK and was unable to breastfeed properly so the hospital provided pre-made formula in bottles for me to use for the 2days i was in the hospital, do Joondalup do the same as ive heard you have to take steriliser, bottles, formula(basically the whole kit n caboodle) to the hospital with you as they dont provide it? if it is i think i need a bigger hopsital bag just incase i cant breastfeed this one too!!

Cheers Jo :))

I had my beautiful twin girls on March 6th. Started off at Joondalup, got transferred to KEMH for a c/s then back to Joondalup 2 days later. They were great.
Jo, i bottle fed, & yes you do have to provide your own bottles & formula but they now don't advise you sterilise so steriliser is not necessary.
