yesterday i purchased nilstat an anti-fungal for oral thrush for my 3 week old DD Alisha.
i gave her a dose at about 9.30am and spent the day with a miserable grisly baby. didnt put two and two together though.
rather than give her 4 doses as directed i waited till later at night and gave her a 2nd dose at 10pm.. she had an allergic reaction :eek::eek:
we took her to the hospital with breathing problems, rash and swollen eyes!!!
she was given some steroid and settled down a lot.
took her home and have to now take her to a pediatrician.. she is not to receive any anti-fungal treatments at all until then.
what a shock i have never heard of a reaction to nilstat..
it was scary none of my kids have allergic reactions to things that cause breathing probs.
