is rolling all over the place and has been for a few weeks now. Everytime I put him down he manages to roll away into something lol. Now when I put him down for tummy time he is pushing himself up onto all 4's are rocking as if he is gonna crawl soon  eeek he is way to young to be mobile!!! Has anyone else had a bub crawling at around 5 months? and were they early walkers too??

I have good news for you - just because he's on all 4's rocking doesn't mean he'll crawl straight away. My ds did that for at least 6 weeks before he actually crawled. But he was 9 1/2 months old when he crawled so a bit later than your ds probably. My ds didn't end up walking til 14 months. So, don't worry, one movement (rolling) doesn't mean that within 2 months he'll be walking ...

My ds is just on 5 mths and has been doing this for a while... the funny thing he is now effectively crawling but only backwards! He can't master forwards at all! He can cross the room as of the last couple of days - going backwards - and seems to find it very frustrating that he gets further away from where he wants to go than closer!

But yeah they do this semi-crawling thing for ages...

My DS was the same, always very active and strong. He was properly crawling at 5.5 months, standing up at 6 months, taking steps at 9 months and properly walking at 10.5 months!

My ds2 started to crawl at four months. He started to pull himself up at 5 mths. He started to walk around furniture at six months. He started taking one step and falling down at seven months. He turns eight months today, so we have to wait and see what this month brings.

DS rolled at 8 weeks at the clinic while I was talking to the CHN... I didn't notice, I was talking to her and her eyes popped out of her head and then I looked to see what DS was doing .
He crawled at 4 months and was into everything, by 6 months he was standing and climbing, cruising on the furniture etc.
At his 6 month checkup the CHN said he'd be walking by 7 months, but between 6 and 9 months everything seemed to slow down for a bit and he didn't walk until 9 months.

I hope you have a tough skin; I had to put up with many people telling me I must have 'forced' him to stand/crawl/roll whatever; that I must have him in a walker all the time (we never had a walker as I read they could be dangerous) and that 'his legs will be damaged because he's too little to stand/walk etc'... it got to the point where I stopped going out for a while as I was sick of the comments and competitiveness of other mums.

I also had the 'he must be hypo' comments as he was very active . The good news is that although he's active now and full of energy, he also loves sitting quietly drawing, reading, painting etc too.
Enjoy the crawling while it lasts! It's great for brain development

DS first rolled back to tummy at 3 weeks yes 3 weeks. The CHN couldn't believe it and said she has never seen a baby roll that early but like gazell he rolled there and hit his head on the cabinet that was next to the table we were lucky it was there or he would have rolled off the table. I wasn't happy. Crawled at 4.5months, and now at 10 mnths he is almost walking has taken a few steps but is a bit of a chicken.

My DD1 was exactly the same as this

i have an almost 5 month old baby girl who is doing exactly that she's been rolling for ages and i'd be very suprised if she doesn't crawl in the next few weeks. she gets the poo's cos she keeps going backwards lol. i hope she'll be mobile soon i've got another on the way.
