Hi,
Were a lesbian couple in Adelaide and looking for other lesbians who are TTC or who have children already to chat with and trade advice.
We dont know any other lesbian mums and would love to meet some and what better place than here.
Were both new to this site and are a little clueless about it all so any advice would be awesome.
Hope to chat soon

Hi Shellkiz, welcome. I am an adelaide lesbian who has kids and we are TTC. there are a couple of other local lesbians on this site who will hopefully come and introduce themselves....
I have two boys (10 and 8) who I had with my ex-DP, she is the bio mum to both of them and they live week about with her and then with me and DP. DP and I have been TTC for about 20 months using a known donor and about 8 months ago started down the IVF path. We did our forst IVF/ICSI cycle in Nov 08 but it was a BFN. We are hoping to start our next cycle in a few weeks, Girldoc

It is all all little over whelming atm! My DP and i are going to be using a known donor and were in the process of checking out the paperwork needed to protect both ourselves and our donor.
Were hopeing to start TTC next month and as much as im hopeing i fall pregnant first time round i am trying to prepare myself for the chance i wont. Sorry for just blabbing everything out, its actually the first time ive mentioned it to someone other then my DP!!

Hi
We are also an Adelaide lesbian couple who are in the process of TTC. We have decided to go through Fertility First in Sydney and have our first appt at the beginning of April.

Hi Nurse27,
How are you finding the process? Did it take long to get your 2nd appt?
Did the blood tests etc take long to get back?
I am just curious as i am hoping that because the appt is at the beginning of my cycle that we will be able to try in the same month.

Hello! My partner and I just started TTC. I'm 36 and my partner is 35. We'd love some on-line friends going through the same things. We are doing at-home insemination using a known donor. We are also using the Instead Cups to help keep the spermies up where they need to be!
I previously TTC for about 5 years with no success, but I'm hoping this time will be different ;)
Best of luck!

Hi Astrogal,
I would sugguest start BBT (body basal temperature) charting and checking cm (cervical mucus) to get a better understanding of the process of your body. Also, will help keep your mind off the appointments and give them more information.
good luck! :fingerscrossed:

I purchased a Clearblue Fertility Monitor for the USA as they dont sell them here. Its a great device, highly recommend it.
Hi Everyone,
My Partner and I have been TTC for about 14 mths, using QFG in brisbane as this is where we conceived our 2 year old. We have been using IUI with the same unknown donor that we conceived
No.1 with.
Best wishes to everyone.:goodvibes:

Hey there astro,
We are going through Flinders IVF here in Radelaide. Our 1st appointment was in November and our 2nd is at the end of February, but this is because of the christmas break and renovations and things at FMC.
As far as getting blood tests back, they should only take a couple of days at the most to get back to your doc - we haven't seen any results as yet though - just waiting for that next appointment to roll on.
We were/are really eager to get started with everything because we spent all of last year with Jay trying at home with a donor, with no success. Unfortunately for us there is a mandatory counsellor appointment to make sure people are fully prepared for what is about to happen and to assess how you will deal with everything. We know we are ready....it is just a matter of convincing another person that we are well prepared. Hopefully we will be able to schedule that really quickly after the doctors appointment, and then be set to start in March (after our Mardi Gras Holiday :smiliedance:)
Hopefully things will go smoothly for you both, and things will result in :bfp:

I just wanted to make sure that the adelaideans know that there is a gay/lesbian parenting group here in adelaide called pink parents (www.pinkparents.com.au (http://www.pinkparents.com.au)) who meet up once a month and go away on camps twice a year. New folks are always welcome.
