Hi ladies,
I am 30 weeks and the last 5 weeks been in and out seeing the Ob and my Gp firstly my blood pressure was high and then had to have the 24hr urine check, my ankles were swollwen bad but they have been like that for every pregnancy.......they found protein in my urine just under what they think is to high but after doing a heap of blood tests found that it is not pre eclampsia. Went back days later blood pressure normal bubs in good condition heart rate normal and growing to normal size but still have the protein in urine facter, now the Ob tells me my kidneys might be under pressure and not breaking the protein down like normal so they will keep a close eye on me! seen my Doc on friday blood pressure normal and protein low in urine...great!
But since yesterday i have had this sharp burning, stabbing pain just under my left shoulder blade, it hurts more when im in certain positions and is painfull! Bub has been in full on movement mode and i feel ok otherwise except for the normal indigestion but i have never had this pain before, i got it weeks ago but it went away after a day and i thought it was from when i walked the dogs! any thoughts? or has anyone else had this pain?
cheers..Jo:wave:

Are you on a high protein diet? Lots of protein can help to relieve fluid retention, as can drinking nettle tea, and dandelion tea.

The pain in your shoulder sounds as though it could be stress related? Do you know where you tend to hold stress in your body?

I can't imagine pain there would be related to your pregnancy....

All the best, I hope the swelling eases for you.

Also if your kidneys may be involved, make sure you are keeping really really really well hydrated.

Thanks for reply, water is not an issue as i make sure im drinking 2L or more a day and i was on a high protein diet before i got pregnant but i have added more carbs for the pregnancy! I have googled a little and it says it could be related to gallstones, liver, all i can say it is so painfull if i move or sit in different ways, oh well back to the doc:yes:
cheers...Jo

Have you called your OB/L&D and let them know? If you haven't done so already I strongly suggest that you do so now. Pain in your Upper right abdomen and/or shoulder pain are symptoms that should NOT wait until morning/next appointment etc. It can be a symptom of HELLP, which is extremely serious.

Well what a week of tests in out in out! bub is fine and they have ruled out HELLP and pre eclampsia, my kidney is overworked and keeping a close eye on that as thats the protien in the urine, but the prob with back is impinged nerve under the right shoulder blade above the rib so very painfull, so im going to have to give up work a little early for as soon as i start moving my right arm like lifting, cleaning and whatso the burning starts and sharp pain so i have some stuff for it and some pain killers, my Bp was a little high but back to normal when i seen the doc again yesterday so just trying to rest which i find so very hard to do!!
Thanks for the info girls:thumbsup:
cheers!

Thats excellent news!

How often are the doctors having you in for monitoring now?

Even though they have ruled out HELLP & Pre-Eclampsia, I would still report any new or worsening symptoms to your OB/midwife as soon as possible, especially since you did mention you have protieninuria, and a slightly high BP reading.

Hi zoey,
Im going in every week on a tuesday and if anything is not right or worsening symptoms i have to go to midwifery department straight away and they are fantastic up there no messing around!
This pregnancy has been very hard on me, must be age...lol i think my body is saying, hey you have been having babies since you were 17 time to stop.
Last pregnancy had no probs and worked right up untill the day i went in, i clean private, huge homes!
But im going to take it easy from now on and thanks for the info on HELLP i heard a little but when i googled the information was interesting to read and my symptoms are very the same and sometimes it will not show in blood tests so i will be keeping an eye on myself.
cheers.
