OK, after a week off-line and 6 pages of chatting I've caught up.
Belated Happy Birthday's to:
Katie, Caitlyn, Talon, Tarni, Clea and Mim
Congrats to Hels on the arrival of her blue bundle
Cordelia...hope all is going well in the final few days. :yelclap:for Dh standing upto IL's
3Divas and Sammy...looks like you had a fantastic day!
Mim...congrats on the job. Hope J's molar has stopped giving him (and you) grief.
Tabby...paddling pool looks great. :hugs: to Katie, hope she feels better soon
Cat...:smiliedance:for C's test results
Charis...great to hear from you again
Shazza...LOL at your NYE. It sounded as exciting as mine. My second year alone at home. When in March will you be in Perth? :fingerscrossed: it's not when we're camping in Kalbarri. If not, then we'd love to catch up. I'm the closest to Joondalup.
Us...a nice calm family Christmas this year. No arguments or over-done people this year. The kids all got spoilt again. Most of the day was spent outside with the kids riding bikes and scooters.
I think TJ is teething again. Have had some rotten nights since Christmas.
My 2 weeks off work has disappeared, with most of the past week spent outside on the swings, bikes or trampoline. Have been to the beach a couple of times. Have the day to myself tomorrow. Have to at least start the curtains for TJ's room. We've packed all the Christmas dec's and tree's away. 2 very good helpers made the job easy yesterday. I think they enjoyed taking the dec's off the tree more than putting them on:rolleyes::laughing:.
Happy Birthdayfor Cooper on Monday and anyone else I might have forgotten.
Have a great day!

Yes 2snuff- xmas certainly chews up alot of time- I wonder where the past week and a half have gone and actually realised tonight in that time i have watched zero on the television!!!
Went out last night- have been paying for it tday with a slight hangover and a very unsettled 9 month old- I am so glad I dont do that very often- and the price was ridiculous- We started drinking at home first then managed to spend a futher $150 b/w dh and myself out:eek: Just so expensive.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

Happy New Year Everyone.
We havent been here much lately as I dont have a computer and browse the web via PS3 so it is awkward to reply to posts.
Hope everyone have a lovely 2009 and HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to all our cheeky 2 year olds.
Happy New Year everyone!!
Happy Birthday to all those I've missed - I think about 1/2 of our little ones are 2 already!
Congrats to Hels on the birth of little Alex - he's very cute!
Cordelia ... not long to go now! :hugs:
Tabby ... how's Katie?
Shazza ... great to see you!
Dragonflyblu ... fantastic to hear from you - sorry it's so hard for you to surf the web at the moment. Where are you living? How is life in Australia going?
2s'nuff ... don't tell me that 2 weeks leave goes so quickly ... I'm currently a few days into my 2 weeks of leave and I want it to last forever!
Note to all ... toddlers do not like people dressed up in costumes, especially if they involve face masks. Went out to a party (tonight) where people were dressed up. It was a disaster and Josh lasted about 25 minutes and that included plenty of tears, lots of cuddles (he wouldn't let go of me!) and otherwise he just looked terrified. Oh well, at least he got to dress up as 'super josh' and he was there with his 'super daddy' :)
I start my new job in just over 4 weeks, so when I get back from leave I have only 3 weeks to get ready to leave my current job - not much time at all! I will miss my current job, especially as I wasn't planning on leaving there for another year or two. But, the new job will be good too, I hope.
Cordelia

Just a quick note to say Happy New Year :) Can you believe it's been 2 years?!
Will be able to give you baby news tomorrow :) Dont think i'll be doing much sleeping tonight  (remember it's still a secret on facebook - sorry I've been pedantic about keeping it a secret for months!)

Mim- goodluck with the new job- the next 3 weeks will fly- they always do in January!
DFB- great to hear from you again- hope clea had a great 2nd bday.
Feeling a bit better today after a good nights sleep. Things might go back to normal around here now that my brother, his partner and kids have all gone back home- this week has been quite crazy- all over the place- kids have been eratic too!
Lots of cleaning and washing on the agenda today then a friends place for a bbq this evening.

I know what you mean Tabby about needing the break- It is so full on- even though its great having such a long summer break- I miss school as it is my only release from the kids- I know that sounds horrible but I dont have anybody to watch the kids or help with the kids when I am on holidays- what I would give for a pedicure and massage right now!

3Divas...know what you mean about needing a break. The kids are at daycare today, needed one day to myself before work on Monday. With Dh and the kids home for 6 days, then having the kids by myself for 2 days I'm going insane! The mess and the continual chatter drives me nuts. I'm beginning to wonder if 2 weeks in a camper trailer in Kalbarri is really a good idea:rolleyes:.
Tabby...good to hear K is over her bug. :hugs: for your mum. Hope you get a break while at the IL's.
Fugly...congrats on your latest arrival. Ditto for 3Divas - I want details.
DFB...good to hear from you, hope C enjoyed her day
Cordelia...hope all is going well today
Us...After waking several times last night TJ decided it was time to get up at 5.30. Woke to find her trying to close her door with pillow and baby under her arm.
Have managed to get TJs curtains cut and the front panels sewn together. Me thinks this is going to be a long winded process:rolleyes::p.
Have a great day!

 Just came in to give you the details but see they have been found :D
Little Ashleigh is doing wonderfully - althiough I've had bronchitis and a sinus infection, DS has been vomitting and hasnt eaten for 4 days (have gone to the docs 3 times).....It has been a trying time !!!
AND NOW - DS wants nothing to do with me  HE was SO good with Ashleigh to start with and now he wont look at her or come anywhere near me. Just went to get him up and he wouldnt come to me but when DH came in - Up he got :hissy:
Any suggestions from those who already have 2??

A big congratulations to Cordelia on the arrival of DANIEL!!
Fugly - Congrats on your little girl too. I dont have any advice, even though i have 3 i was never in that situation. So big :hugs: cos i'm sure it is very upsetting & difficult.
I know what you all mean by having a break. How nice would that be. DH has only had the public holidays off work so haven't really had him around since school finished. He is taking annual leave in Feb for 4 weeks but is having eye surgery & will need the 4 weeks to recover so not likely to get a break then either... might even be busier with me having to take care of him too. We really wanted to go away but cant really book anything when we don't know how his surgery is going to go. So will probably be around easter time now.

Congrats Cordelia on the birth of little Daniel- well done to you and dh!!:yelclap:
Fugly- Congrats again- my only advice is give it time- took a good 4 weeks after dd3 was born before Bridget got use to it all- I know atm it feels like it will never get better, but just some adjustment time is all that is needed- GOODLUCK with it all!
Phoebe is teething so badly- never had the other 2 as bad as this- refused to eat all day because of the pain- finally bale to feed her tonight by quickly rubbing her gums with bonjela and sticking the boobie straight in her mouth- she is really sufferring. Hope my night is not too bad with her.

Just popped in to see if any congratulations were due and I've not been dissappointed!
Congratulations Cordelia on the arrival of Daniel. Hope you are all doing well.
And congratulations too to Fugly on the arrival of Ashleigh.
3divas, hope Phoebe's teeth settle down soon.
Our New Years was quiet, we went to the fireworks as planned and while we didn't find them too impressive Cameron certainly did which was the main thing (Tabby, I must have misled you with my last post, fireworks were on New Years, not on Cam's bday - that really would have been special!).
Spending most of our time putting up Cameron's playhouse - we may have gone a bit over the top and we've had some challenges along the way. DH is generally pretty handy but he's had a few creative ideas that haven't quite worked out and I'm only just holding the "I told you so's" back!
He is on holidays for a few weeks which is nice though and I've taken the chance for a few solo shopping outings. Gotta make the most of it - he's away for 12 weeks from the 26th Jan. The next 18 months I'm hardly going to see him really - a few smaller trips the first half of the year and then the 8month overseas posting from Sep09. Trying bot to think about it too much though.
Good night all,

Wow Cat- I really cant picture myself as an Army wife with dh away so much- will you stay up north the whole 8 months dh is away or will you go and stay with family down South? Its prety amazing how the Army works hey? You do an amazing job:thumbsup:
I am going away again tomorrow- back to Newcastle- for 5 days. I am pretty bored at home and want to take the kids to the beach, so I will go with the kids and dh will stay at home- he will come up on Friday to look after the 2 little kids so I can take dd1 to see Delta Goodrem in concert.
Anyways better go- will pop back in later on to do next weeks bday wishes!!

Thanks for all the congratulations :) We're having a ball. I was dreading it after the drama and stress of Caitlin's birth but it was such a joyful and happy day!!! and so far Daniel's been a dream (altho I know not expect that for too long!)
Caitlin is very affectionate towards her brother [so far] but won't talk to me!! So I know we have some interesting adjustments to come.
I hope everyone enjoyed their new years and for those who have birthdays coming up - happy preparations!

Cordelia...great to hear all is going well
Tired...4 weeks at home with a sick/recovering Dh doesn't sound like much fun to look forward to. Hope his eye doesn't take the full 4 weeks to recover.
Cat...LOL at the creative ideas. My Dh is oftne the same, great idea, but not necessary realistic or practical. Enjoy your time with DH while he's home.
3Divas...enjoy your few days away
Tabby...hope you've enjoyed your time off
Us...back at work today, and oh, is my day so much quieter:p. Kids were also eager to go to daycare today, they were ready and sitting in the car 15 minutes before our normal leaving time, LOL:D.

Hope you have a nice break.
Have spent this morning cleaning so less to do during the week.
I really feel let down with this so called holiday I had....
the first week was flat out! 2 bdays and xmas to deal with so only really had a week and that was spent cleaning up and recovering from xmas!
hoping to get another couple of weeks off soon as ds2 is showing he can handle it all alone, which Im sure he can and will, he starts this week solo when we only need one of us

HI everyone
Happy Birthday Cooper!!
Tabby - Not fair having to go back to work
3Divas - Have a great time away again!
Us - Not much happening here. Went for a little road trip yesterday down to the beach. It was nice. Ended up driving 3.5 hrs out of Melbourne. Was ok on the way there but on the way back was  The girls were getting unsettled but we survived. Strawberry & Tabby - my status on facebook... you are probably wondering  Its a secret but i can tell all of you. NO i am not pregnant LOL... we are moving to QLD!!! :smiliedance: Not for ages yet but we have been thinking about it for ages & DH wanted to wait until 2011 but we have been talking about it & have decided to go this year. Really want to tell people but worried about a few reactions from family, i dont know why i should be though... nothing is going to talk me out of it this time lol. Our lease is up here in March so starting to do all my research.
tiredmummy ... that's good news, I'm sure you're family will be excited. I did wonder if you were pregnant after your status on facebook :)
tabby ... holidays at Christmas are so hard. Without time off Christmas is even more exhausting, but as you say the time flies so much quicker than a holiday in the middle of the year. :hugs:
2snuff ... that's so funny about the kids being ready 15 minutes early to go to daycare! I know that when I'm back at work and my mum is due to pick up Josh he won't be crying to leave me, he'll be saying 'mamas house' over and over again.
3Divas ... have fun on holidays!
Cordelia ... congrats - he is adorable!
Fugly ... congrats! Great to see you!
happybirthday Cooper!
cat ... that's funny about the cubby - did it get finished and look stable in the end? I hope you get to enjoy your time with your dh. For the first few years of our marriage my dh was away for about 1/4 of the year (usually for a week or 3 at a time) - it was rough - and I didn't have a child. Lean on us when you need help when your dh is away - practical or otherwise.
Us ... oi, I know 2 year olds have lots of tantrums, but Josh isn't 2 yet and his tantrums are escalating. I can barely get him in the pram, highchair, carseat without screaming, going rigid and then tears (usually with 'play, mummy, play' screamed as well). Once he's there he's fine, but he's becoming a real handful.
I wore him out today - went to an indoor playground this morning for an hour - it was fun! Then dh came home (he's working a few hours here and there this week while we're on holidays) and we went to the beach (we're staying at the beach this week). It's been too cold to go swimming, so today was our first opportunity. Josh had so much fun splashing in the water. But tonight he was especially tired.

Mim: Close enough for a 2 yr old tantrums hun
Hes most Likely just trying to find out how much he can get away with, as they do, With Katie Im quite stern with her when she tries that caper she usually gets the message quick smart. i dont like to be "tough" but in the long run i dont want another like ds2 and I dont have time to be mucked about like when trying to get everyone and everything into the car , specially if its hot! lol sounds harsh when I put it down like that but its not really..Ive just let her know whos boss here and there is no fighting for the top branch with me lol :)
what I say goes here
anyhow so far so good but those tantrums can hit harder any time now, they change every day imo so hopefully as quick as its started it will also pass for you

Tabby...hope you have a good day at work today. Holdiays are always too short, and yes, Christmas ones disappear in all the cr@p that surrounds it.
Strawberry...don't panic about the photo's, when you find time is ok. We're getting excited about ours. I've got to go down the the showroom and take some measurements next week. Have to start looking for boxes to fit under the bed and maximise the space.
Tired...:yelclap: for your planned move to QLD.
Mim... for wearing J out. It's been too hot hear lately to do much physical stuff with the kids. I'm thinking that's one of the reasons for our god-awful early mornings at the moment.
Us...yes, another cr@ppy night. I don't know if it's the heat, but TJ's been up about 3-4 times a night again lately.
Yes, we have a grumpy cow in our house at the moment - the teriible two's have hit.

Tabby - Still staying at mums for anther couple of weeks. Cant wait to get into our own house very soon.
2s'nuff - We love our camper. We took it up to bundaberg over the new year and it had ample of room.
I can also say the terrible 2 have hit here aswell. When t1 doesn't get his own way he starts but to make it worse T2 copies him. T2 is cracking it today don't know if its from the heat or she's teething so i better get going and sort her out lol.
Take care

Strawberry - Not 100% sure yet. Depending on DH work. He can get a transfer to anywhere from South Brisbane & up to Caloundra so it just depends on where an opportunity comes up i spose. If nothing comes up then his company said they will just make a spot for him... which is good.
Terrible two's are here too. Tantrums galore lol. Sierra is very sooky today. Not sure why exactly. Teeth, tired, who knows. Got some good news today though... my brothers wife is pregnant again. Due is August. :smiliedance: There little boy has just turned 9 months so it will be a nice age gap. Very exciting!

Hi Chrini,
Just noticed how close our 1st two are in age - bit freaky actually!!!
Hi everyone else, working on another cake order so won't be on much again.
Tiremummy, what an exciting change!
Tabby, glad DS2 is working out well at work!
3Divas, hope you have fun back up the coast, I'm heading back for most of the long weekend. Is the tramp still popular at your place?
Terrible 2's have been here for a while. DH and I joke that Michael has anger management issues. Luckily he only takes out his agression on me, DH & predominantly DS1. He still adores the baby and is constantly kissing him and sharing toys.

Strawberry...LOL at T2 copying T1's tanties. Have you got a house sorted?
Tired...:yelclap: for the SIL baby news. Always exciting when a new baby is on the way.
Sammy...Are you a glutton for punishment...more cake orders? Good to hear M is gentle towards bub.
Have got TJ's cake out defrosting today, have to ice it tonight for daycare tomorrow. I'm attempting a cow this year. Will post photo's (successful or not) when I have time. No parties for her this year. We're going to a 6yo birthday party on Sunday, so that will have to do her.

Look forward to seeing pics of the cow cake 2snuff, I'm going to be attempting a car cake next week. Cameron is totally car obsessed - can those who also have DS's tell me are they all completely nuts over anything that goes brmmmm brmmm crash bang or is it just my little man!?
Cordelia, glad your DS is settling in well so far. Don't worry, apparently I wouldn't look at my mum for a couple of weeks after my sister was born (I was 27months) but eventually got over it and so will Caitlin.
Tiredmummy, the move to QLD sounds very exciting.
And yes Mim - the playhouse is finally all up and stable, will post a picture when I get around to it!
Sounds like our 2 and almost 2 year olds are all trying to test their boundaries. Cameron's tanty's are quite shortlived now with a preference to throw himself on the ground in a sulk or lean on a wall head buried in his hands. More frustrating is the extremely defiant "no" he likes to give us - complete with dirty look. And then stare at us as he repeats the action he was just told off for. And laughs if we sternly tell him off. We are planning to buy a naughty chair very soon! Just not sure how we'll actually keep him in it.
Thanks everyone for your support about DH being away alot over the next 18months. Going to stay up North but schedule a few visits down south and also lots of people visiting us up here. No luck with the TTC so going to hold off a few months now - last thing I want is to give birth just after DH has headed overseas with 8months of single parenting ahead. Plan now is to try for the couple of months before the overseas posting to be due not long before he gets back or better still just after. And if not will just have to wait until he's back and enjoy the one on one time with Cameron. Am sure he won't complain!
omg lol... it's like our almost 2yos are all self destructing at the same time!
mine's had incredibly bad sleep just over the last week... why why why? i'm so drained and tired, i've been handing him over to DH and my mum during the day cos i'm so drained... so we've been missing out on time together! which sucks.
and he's been so intensely horrible when he gets tired, these few days, it's all i can do to hold it together.
he was so lovely until just recently. what the hell?!
we did start the tantrummy stuff some time ago, but we managed to work through it together, and it's now manageable. except when he's super tired!
argh.. i want this to get better now..

Can happily say ive yet to have any real terrible 2's other than the normal "see how far can go", but usually ends in laughter from both me and her. lol
Shes usually complying in most things.
Have had the worst sleeps here too though and I think its just due to the active mind they have now and not knowing how to shut down but will in time :fingerscrossed:
I prefer 2-3 wakes a night than to have tanty's so am happy with how she reacts to things at the moment...please let me avoid the terrible 2's again! ds1 we never had them but ds2 had the terrible 1's,2's,3's etc etc etc until 16! lol i think I deserve to not have them again
Whos still having bottles? We only have for nap and bedtime ( and the wakes ), I really want her to give it up totally but she breaks my heart when try so not game enough to try again

Cat...will try and post photo's of cake tomorrow. Turned out ok considering it started out as a bears head:p
jbie... Could he be teething? The 2yo molars are due? TJ has never slept through, but the past few weeks she's reverted to waking 3-4 times a night. I think it's the sudden arrival of the heat in Perth that's put her out.
Tabby...TJ hasn't had a bottle in over 6 months. She still has a sippy cup of milk at bedtime, both at night and during the day. I tried to convert it to a cup of milk before bed earlier this week, but then decided it's too hot and she might be thirsty. Will keep working on it. Mind you, she only has a sippy cup during the day for me. DH and daycare don't give her one, so maybe I should be strong and stop it too.
It's official, we're 2happybirthday! Gave TJ her pressies this morning, she was so excited. Found a Playskool Dressy Daisy doll the other day in Target. She loved it. Have got some Little People bits for her to open this afternoon to add to her castle. She wore her new crocs (Pink target ones with the octopus) to daycare, no doubt everyone will get to see them during the day, she's a good 'show and tell' girl:D.
Have a great day,
Lisa

Hope you all have a great day today.
Daniel is just the easiest baby - we may have had more thyan our share of problems with Caitlin but wow, this guy has barely cried, goes to sleep by himself and feeds beautifully. And Caitlin, despite being a bit grumpy today, loves him.
terrible 2's - i did read that terrible 2's was more terrible 18 months to 2.5 years. I guess just consistency and distraction are our best tools here.
Well, I have 2 sleeping kids so i better go get some shut eye before ti all starts again in half an hour.

Im not too fussed by it, as long as shes not wanting to walk rnd all day with a bottle in her mouth it doesnt bother me..yet

Happy Birthday TJ!
Milk, M has a straw cup with brekkie in his high chair and again straight after dinner. DH wants to get rid of the dummy but I'm in no rush, he only has it for his nap and bedtime and it rarely leaves the cot.
Happy Birthday TJ!
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one still offering a bottle. I love our little snuggle cuddles before bed at night as he drinks his bottle and I read a story. I was going to stop at 2, but I'm not sure I can (it's only a week away!).
And I'm also glad to hear that I'm not the only one happy to keep the dummy going! dh told Josh yesterday that once he's 2 the dummy is gone and I'm quite happy to wait til 3 ... so we will :)
cordelia ... glad daniel is going well
jbie ... hi! we've been having bad sleep for the last week here too - quite out of the ordinary for Josh. I wonder if he's still feeling the effects of Christmas where he went for days being sleep deprived and overstimulated. Maybe that's an issue in your house too? I hope it improves for you really soon!
chrini ... welcome!
Us ... Josh has been a little different this week. Earlier in the week it was the tantrums, but they seem to have lessened a bit (I can at least get him in the car seat!) and now he's just anxious quite often. He heard sirens (admittently lots of them and I was getting concerned too) and although he was playing at the park (which he loves) he turned to me with tears in his eyes and said 'home mummy' and then rushed into my arms. He's also woken 45 minutes after going down at night screaming twice this week - he hasn't done that in a very long time.
Then yesterday he screamed (crying interspersed with 'cuddles mummy' and 'more cuddles' - oh it was hard not to rush in there the whole time) for a whole hour before his afternoon nap. I think he was overstimulated and overtired as we'd spent 3 hours at a friends house and her toddler has heaps and heaps of Thomas wooden trains and duplo trains and he thought he was in 7th heaven! He's still asleep now and so that's nearly 12 hours, and I hope he's feeling better today.

Mim: Ive found with all 3 of mine that they can react just like that for anything up to a week before getting ill...Katie did it just before xmas, i thought we had got the terrible twos but she got a terrible head cold 4 days later! Just like the boys when young, could always tell when they were going to be unwell. hopefully not the case and just a passing phase for Josh but worth keeping a eye out for.
we look like gettting a rather large above ground pool!!! :smiliedance:
Will know tomorrow and if so then there goes the patio lol..Its still in council approval so no biggie to cancel, will lose my 350 deposit but hey?! I think it will be worth it
I cant wait, am sooo excited! Love my fresh water swims. ds1 said he would be over more often too so thats another plus

Thanks for the Birday wishes girls, TJ had a great day.
She loves her new dolly and after opening another couple of pressies when we got home yesterday asked for more presents to open, LOL:laughing:.
Mim...love the new avatar
Tabby...a big pool sounds exciting. Will you still put up a small patio?
Dummy...TJ still has hers for bed and sometimes when she's having a bad day. DD1 didn't give up her dummy until she was nearly 3. Though she was much more of a dummy girl than TJ. We'll just play it by ear and see how things go. I see TT as being far more important than getting rid of the dummy.
Hope you have a great weekend. We've got a hot one on the way. Might go to the beach if it's warm enough first thing (9am) Sunday.

We still use the Dummy here- bedtime mainly and same- if its a bad day- so much quieter having it in her mouth:laughing: DD1 was the same- gave it up at 3- Santa took it for the other babies;)
Delta last night was great- DD1 was on such a high when we left- must say though that Brian Mcfadden is a bit alright:cool:

will try to pop on and wish appropriate bdays but if im late in doing so i apologize now!

More belated bday wishes for TJ  Cool cake 2snuff!
Also bday wishes for 3Divas' DD1. Hope I haven't missed any others.
Tabby, have fun doing the prep for the pad. We know all about it - have just done same in preparation for a 6mx6m carport. Now it's done and so is Cameron's playground we don't know what to do with ourselves!
Milk before bed - Cameron has a sippy cup of milk while we read a story before his afternoon nap and still a breastfeed before a book or three at bedtime. If he wakes during the night he'll now go back to sleep with minimal fuss if DH goes in with a sippy cup of water but if I go in he won't resettle without a feed. DFB - how are you going with weaning Clea? I think we were/are the last remaining breastfeeders? I've been reducing the length of the bedtime feed and don't think I have much milk left at all (Cam says "all gone" after about 4 sucks on the left side!) and am hoping he'll lose interest soon rather than me have to actively wean him.
sleeping - we are bucking the trend and my horrible sleeper has actually started sleeping through more often than not (I hope I haven't jinxed myslef!). I think it has alot to do with the larger dinners he's started eating and also that he's waking up in the mornings with a dry nappy. We went from no interest in toilet training at all to having several wees in the pot each day and now he wakes up dry from most sleeps and we take him straight to the pot for a massive wee.:yelclap:

Wow Cat thats fantastic that Cameron is going well with the poptty- have tried Bridget after xmas for 2 days but kept missing her- but she knows when she has done a wee- she tells me and sometimes takes her nappy off- its just the potty- she hates sitting on it- screams when we sit her there:confused:
Tabby- goodluck with the pool installation- you have been quite busy round the home lately!!
DD1 has had a gr8 day- been very spoilt by family and friends. Bridget has enjoyed the day aswell- she will love her bday on friday I reckon- she has enjoyed the pressies and cake and all the fuss today, but went to bed very very tired:sleeping:

cat: Katie is actually having the bot to go to sleep so probably my mistake here :(
Will have to "talk" her way to no more and do what you do with a sippy cup at reading time..
talk her way means I build her up to it by telling her often in advance whats coming! lol
TT, the interest was here but now gone! she mostly just say "no" and runs off ! cheeky monkey that she is..I got a new one though and more rounded so more comfy and shes sat on there a few times but still no real interest..hmm which to do first..the bottle or the tt lol
might go the bottle....
ill let yous know how it goes lol
have just drawn up the site plans for council for the pool and fence, 2-3 days he said over phone for approval so thats better than the patio was lol
Ordered 2 sails from dealsdirect for a bargain $20 each! for now and we will go a smaller patio later when i can be bothered the hassle.

3Divas, before he actually started using the pot we spent many weeks where I just got him used to sitting on it for a few minutes by holding a scrapbook for him to use his favourite stamps on. Initially I would get the stamps (or a sticker) out each time he sat down but now the excitement of doing a "big wees", 'helping' tip the pot into the toilet and flushing seems reward enough. Hopefully the novelty doesn't wear off!
tabby, Cameron was fed to sleep for a long time and still would if he could! Won't offer advice because not quite sure how we managed the transition but it did seem to help a little with his sleeping. Good luck :fingerscrossed:

the swings and one castle are off to the inlaws on wednesday, thats two of the biggest things..the cubby has been moved over to the paved side, under house eaves in a corner..
Leaves just a childs picnic table and her slide...slide may have to go to, depends once pool in with space..or might shed it till cooler weather and get it out to play with when need.
ill sell the other pacific creations castle if i cant work out where to go safely with it ( away pool etc )
so yup..my playground will have turned into what am sure will become a public pool, ds1 says he will be here nightly after work, dh's boss says he LOVES swimming and will be here..sil says will be here often too lol
Cat: Oh, well thats what am hoping for...i dont care if she still wants bot to sleep, just this constant waking nights! 2-6 times for the last 3 months or more..
now last night. sent to bed after read time and had sipper cup. quite happily went in bed..called out and i went in with bottle with water in it lol..yes not happy MUM! anyhow did the take it or leave it approach and she grizzled ( more complained ) for 2 mins then went to sleep. only woke once at 3 am so hopefully is working?
when she called out over monitor and i took that water in we could hear her say 'aww bot bot no water.. 3 times LOL..yep she only likes water in sippy cup with ice blocks so didnt go down well in bot bot.
2snuff: I know where your coming from ( cept only one here )there hun, I just got up dh this morning as Katie would only have me and dh got upset...thats what you get when you spend 0 time with her over the weekend...! hopefully we can both get some time soon without the shadows to get things done!
Ive felt like a single mum all over again these last few weeks..not good..time for some serious talking to dh i think...and they wonder why we so tired / stressed etc ! If only they got half a clue aye?

Tabby...have you tried giving K a does of worm medicine? Sometimes worms can disturb their sleep. I'd forgotten all about it until DD1 complained of an itchy bottom the other day.
And no, Men just don't get it. DH washed my car for me over the Christmas break. He'd got sick of how dirty it was. He said if I just washed my car regularly it wouldn't get too dirty. So when should I do this I asked? Inbetween work, grocery shopping, washing clothes/hanging them up/taking them down/folding them up/putting them away, bathing the kids, feeding the kids (happens every 5 minutes at the moment), getting them drinks (inbetween the feeding)......I still don't think he got the idea:hair:.

2snuff- Nope men just dont get it and if at all we do get a spare 20 minutes during the day we choose to take that for ourselves and not waste it washing a car!!! I tell dh if he is that passionate about it- there is nothin stopping him from doing it- knock yourself OUT!!!!
Tabby- Big pool then? Sounds like you need it over there in WA.
Pretty warm here today too. My fil just annoyed the sh!t out of me- I went shopping and left mum at home with the kids and my 2 nieces- had my pandora charms and beads on the table as I was getting a new bracelet downtown- the other was too small. Anyways- get home and a bead is missing- one of my nieces had been playing around with them- putting them in her pocket, jumping on the trampoline and stuff- but could not be honest about it- As I am trying to find out where my bead had got to the FIL walks in to get the kids for a swim and starts telling mum and DH to tell me to get over it and stop whinging as it is only a bead!!!! Gggrrrrrr- he makes my blood boil- how rude- I was just trying to work out where the bead was- after all that I found it on the grass under the trampoline!!! So luckily I had enquired as to the girls movements after palying with them!
I will stop :ecomcity:, just had to vent.

But like I keep telling him..You are asked to do very little in and out of house the least can do is maintain our cars?...still didnt get done. *sigh*
Will get this pool done then its time to talk to rectify..

Yes I have been using the nurofen- and panadol sometimes- Phoebe is actually asleep now and has been for about 2 hours so thats a big positive:thumbsup: She has not been sleeping much at all- and lately up rather early.
I put Bridget down at 11.30 today too- only cause it is hot and I will take her and dd1 swimming later this arvo rather than in the middle of the day before her sleep.

Jealous of the hot weather 3Divas. Here it is WET WET WET :gloomy:. Without exaggeration it has only stopped raining for a grand total of 2 hours in the last 48+hours and no sign of letting up. Looks like Cam's bday party on Friday is going to be a washout. Starting to get cabin fever so took him to an indoor playcentre today with some friends which was fine until about 930 when it became a madhouse - and then the vacation care groups arrived too. He didn't seem to care though and at least we were out of the house.

TJ's always been a bugger of a sleeper. DD1 woke at least once a night for a drink until she was about 3.5. Now she wakes some nights, but doesn't wake me as she has a water bottle beside her bed. Evidently my dad was a night drinker:rolleyes:.
Hope the rain lets up a bit. We feel the cabin fever when it's hot and we're shut inside in the air-con. TJ stands at the door saying: "side, side. Tubby House". She loves being outside.

Hey everyone!
Hope the sleep issues are resolved soon for everyone. Michael went thru a really bad patch over 6 months ago and used to watch Night Garden for around 3hrs in the middle of each night (it was the only thing that calmed him down and stopped the screaming) These days he wakes almost nightly but I only go in if he cries for more than a few minutes and usually he's dropped teddy. Luckily DS1 almost always sleeps thru his waking. M also wakes if DS1 gets up to go to the loo but he has finally learnt he's not missing out on anything exciting and resettles quickly.
DH had to day off so we all headed down to the beach. The boys love chasing the waves and being chased in turn. The surf was a little rougher than I would like and both boys got seriously dumped but bravely brushed themselves off after a cuddle from Dad and went straight back in.
We've all just had a massive sleep and I feel all fuggy, I'd best go do some chores and wake myself up a bit.
David was 2 months old yesterday had his 1st bottle of EBM last night. I went out for the 1st time on my own for more than 1hr. I'll probably see if he will drink formula occasionally too as M hated the stuff after he self weaned at 6months.

Sammy - Sounds like you had a nice day at the beach. Sierra loved the beach when we took her a couple of weeks ago. She got dumped a few times but went back for more. She was blue when she came out & took about an hour to stop shivering but loved it. DD1 loves it too but DD2 hates it & is scared of the waves.
Tabby & 2snuff - Hope the night wakings improve for you. That would drive me crazy.
Cat - Hope the rain lets up soon. I've been watching the weather channel about the wild weather up there at the moment.
3Diva's - Loved your new fb pics of DD1 b'day. She is stunning!! Hope Phoebe's teething gets better real soon too!
Us - Well i'm trying to toilet train  Sierra keeps taking her nappy off everytime she does a wee so i thought it would just be easier to put her in undies & keep an eye on her. I'm not sure if she is ready or not though cos when she has an accident its like it just falls out of her & she cant stop it so maybe the part where they can hold it has developed yet.. Not too sure but we'll see how we go. She also decided that today would be the day to raid my wardrobe for her b'day presents  She ended up opening 3 of them before i realised she was in there. I moved them but she keeps going back looking for more lol.

Cat: I forgot to mention, weve not had a day nap in months either! We had them back again about 2 weeks ago for a few days but then they went as well! had thought we were back on track cos day naps = a better night sleep too!
I thought that whatever it was we had solved :(
She was up every hour last night!!!!! Im knackered! 2 of those is enough to do me in.
Yes...from 3 months she was sleeping through and only had issues when she was sick or teething..shes been like this since we were all ill with the flu and then gastro..
I do try to nap her but no matter how tired she is after a hour in there its too late to nap so I let her out as she was only playing anyhow..Rest is better than nothing
Dont think its the heat here as mine has been ongoing for 3 months now..some nights better than others but no where near how it used to be...
hope you ladies who are off swimming had a great time! i cant wait to get this pool up and filled!

Tired...LOL at the birthday pressie raid. Have tried nickers on TJ, but decided she wasn't ready. She does wee on the potty, but hasn't worked out when a wee is coming. So nickers just mean puddles. I've decided to wait a bit londer. Have you tried pull-ups for S?
Tabby...:hugs::hugs: hope K has abetter night soon. TJ had a couple of the on the hour every hour nights after Christmas and it floored me. I think I'm just starting to catch up now.
Strawberry...hope all is well with your lot.
Last night TJ woke at 10, fell out of bed at 10.30 and was unsettled until 11. Then slept 'til 3.30, woke at 5.30 then just after 6. A fairly standar night for us.
TJ moves around a lot at night. Does anyone else find this? We're going camping for 2 weeks soon and we have camp beds for the kids. But I'm wondering if it will be too small and that she'll fall out of bed all night. I don't really want to take a mattress for her and I don't think she'll go back into the porta cot. Any suggestions?
We're set for a couple of stinkers here. That's bound to help the sleep patterns, NOT!
Have a great day,

Bed at 10, woke at 3 and 630 and still asleep now.
Feeling heaps better
That's a thought, will look into it.

back..yep anything even a couple of inches higher than bed and fairly long would do...when ds1 was growing up that was how we did his bed when first in it..used 2 chairs facing the back to the bed so was like a bed rail lol
so are they in a side part ( tent extension? ) if so youd have room to use something substantial in size..anything you are already taking..chairs?
yay for the new hair cut...has it made her look different?
Katie seems to stay pretty much put regardless of her wakes..she will go sideways occasionally but always up the half where the bed rail is..so far.
Yes, am sure these two very hot days and nights to come wont help us both.
fingers crossed for us both for better sleeps to come
am knackered...so much to do and so little time to do it in..feels like the xmas period all over again..am tired and then i get stressed cos am tired but have no choice but to find the oomph to do what needs be done :(
mil usually helps while she sits with katie today but as she has the little one there will more than likely be more mess than cleaned today..
and i do so look forward to her days as i come home and all washings done and dishes and mop and vac! not today though :(

OH the joys of TT. I dont know if you know but on the huggies site you can actually order a toilet training pack- and it is free- just have to print off a claim form and send in one bar code off pull ups- it is a pack with a chart and stickers and stuff- I have printed the form, just have to fill it out and send.
Tabby- are you working this week too?
2snuff- poor tj- falling out of bed- do you have the rails for the bed?
Quite hot again here today- Bridget seems to have a UTI- has been crying and holding herself everytime she needs to wee- and the nappies small very potent- got some ural into her though- so hopefully she gets a bit better.

Have I said how tired I am?
I have Mum and Dads surprise bday here Saturday too! and havnt even started cooking etc and will need to tidy up the yard as best as can :(

Sounds like lots of hard work Tabby but I'm sure it will be worth it!
3Divas, hope ural works quickly! Not pleasant, poor Bridget.
2s'nuff, when do we see pics of the haircut? M had his done professionally for the 2nd time last week and DH swears it was the worst hour of his life (all 3 big boys went to the barber together) The result was good though - DH will also learn not to rock up on a Sat morning when M is due for lunch followed by his nap!
Tiredmummy, I'm definitely not ready for TT here, good luck next week!
Hot one here in Sydney today so we headed off to the covered play centre. It was hot outside but airconditioned in the cafe and toddler area. Came home to a cool house as I'd left everything closed up from the heat. We then got thunder, lightning and such heavy rain that it was frothing bubbles as it hit our courtyard tiles.
Just spent $200 at Target but certainly got a trolley full. A new port-a-cot for Mum's place, new foldaway high chair, bulk packs of wipes, a little baby shower gift for a friend plus a pacifier/thermometer for us - I had never seen them b4 but it looks brilliant - gotta be easier than holding one under a squirming arm.
Hi all!
Sorry to hear about those of you with sleeping issues - I thought 2 year olds know how to sleep! Josh is having his own issues right now too. Screaming for ages before sleep, waking up crying and grumpy after a sleep, and waking once most nights crying. I think he's still unsettled by all the changes in his life recently - not helped by the fact that he had a sleep over at mums the other day cause dh is away and I wasn't feeling well.
tabby ... you are one busy woman! Working, not sleeping, putting in a pool and organising parties! oi!
sammy ... sounds like you had fun at target! I just got a few tops in size 3 for josh, quite an uneventful target shop today actually :)
2s'nuff ... sounds like you have a wriggler on your hands! That is a challenge. Can't she sleep on a blow up air bed when you go camping? She'd only need a small one.
3divas ... hope bridget feels better soon. poor little chicken.
Josh is in need of a haircut. Mum cut his hair when he turned 1 (or thereabouts). Then mum's taken him to the hairdresser at least twice. It's starting to grow into his ears again (ok, so just over the edges) so it's time for a trim. He doesn't mind having his hair cut - finds it fascinating apparently.
josh's birthday is this saturday - eik! he's nearly 2! i've spent the evening washing 2nd hand duplo from ebay - can't wait to see his face light up when he gets it - he loves his duplo!
Tabby
15-01-2009, 11:07 PM
Mim: I read of your duplo win on FB! nice one..been trying for some for ages for Katie..not much over this way to even try for mind you.
If I dont get on before or I forget!!!!
Happy birthday for Josh on Saturday!! hope it all goes well and am sure he will have a ball with his duplo!
Sammy: Sounds like a few bargains there in your shopping spree.
Am actually thinking of selling my porta cot very soon...I dont think its going to happen for another really...and its just in the way..i rarely used it so its still like new so hopefully get a few dollars for it.
Its times like these ( sleepless nights and working ) I wonder if I can cope with another but then again i wouldnt be working so tiredness wouldnt hit me so hard ..maybe?..
I havnt had AF for 4 months now anyhow.. previously it was a 3 month wait..pretty sure regardless of the blood tests i had that indeed am peri-menopause so decision is made for me really.
ah well
Last week Katie threw up after dinner, pizza and I had thought it was the actual peperoni being spicey..obviously not...took off the peperoni and was just base, sauce and cheese and again she threw up when put to bed..
something in the sauce? anyhow, no more pizza for the girl..

Happy Birthday for Bridget, Cameron and Sierra for today
Happy Birthday for Josh tomorrow
Sammy...will try and get a photo of the new haircut this weekend. How do you find the Target wipes? I'm using a box now and don't like them. I find they're a pain to separate.
Mim...I don't know if we'd have enough room for a blow up bed in the kids room. It's only 2x2m square. Tabby gave me an idea the other day. I'm thinking of buying double bunk camp beds, and using the rails for the top on a single version. Should hopefully act like rails on her toddie bed.
Tabby...maybe the pizza is too rich, or too full of preservatives for K to handle.
It's a warm one here today. Already 30C before 8am. Have left DH home in bed with the air-cons on.

Had pancakes for breakie- have made a bday cake- am just about to go and re-arrange B's bedroom to fit everything in!
Going to the park this arvo for pizza and cake with family and friends- although quite a hot day again!

Firstly a huge Happy 2nd Birthday to Bridget, Cameron and Sierra. I hope you all have a fantastic day.
2s'nuff - Have you already got the new camper? T1 sleeps on a air mattress when we go camping. Will email you later and up date you on whats happening.
Tabby - Hows the pool coming along?
Cat - Saw C's cubby house on fb. Wow you and DH did a great job on it.
Us - Both the little ones are down sleeping at the moment so enjoying the quiet time. The two older girls are over at my brother's place, playing with their cousins. T2 is walking everywhere today. Everytime she falls over she gets back up and keeps walking. She's such a cutie and has grown up way to quickly. Off to look at a car today. Need a second car just for me and the kids to get around in.
Take care

strawberry; its on hold! We may have to move out. dept housing says we may be earning too much ..sigh..as if dh's wage is high, we dont know anyone who earns lower other than gov benfits.
anyhow I will most likely have to quit my job asap BUT we most likely still find we are still over the limit as they take in to account FA payments.. result move out asap
option 1: buy own home....will put us back into **** city with no money to spare cos all will be on home loan and current debts
option 2: rent private and give someone else the money to their mortgage..
oh and home loan = finding fees etc as we cant get 1st home owners as you all know when i tried before so yer... prob not going to go that way
basically a no win situation for us at the moment imo
i fully under stand the low income earners for gov housing but we are by no means very much above that still..we would have left eventually once strong enough to pay mortgage comfortably without worrying where food and bills were being paid from yaknow?
Ive cried all arvo, we really dont know what we can do now
sorry, so angry n upset i just had to get it out
oh and all this cos i asked for app for a patio n pool....they think we are made of money..never mind the loan we took out for it!

Happy bday for yesterday for Cameron's birthday buddies Sierra & Bridget.
A big happy birthday to Josh for today and belated bday wishes for Hunter.
Man, it seems like their 1st bdays were not so long ago!
He really didn't know what was going on but Cameron still had a great day being centre of attention with all his little friends over for a party, presents to open and the cake his mummy made him (all he really wanted was the matchbox cars I'd put on top as decoration!)

He had a bit of a late night after all the excitement but even managed to sleep right through until a bit after 7am - that's a HUGE sleep-in for us! :yelclap:I hope he doesn't go back to his old ways just as I start getting used to the extra sleep.

Hi everyone
Firstly thanks for all the happy birthdays for Cooper. We went and had morning tea in the park across the road with friends and family. Was good except poor mite was a bit sooky lala cause of his teeth! Wish they would just come through already!
happybirthday to Josh!
and
Belated happybirthday to Hunter, Bridget, Cameron and Sierra!
2's nuff - When we come over we are staying at Hocking and are coming over on 19 march and leave 31 march. Would def be good to meet up. Any ideas for me on what family stuff we can do in Perth for free/cheap?
Tabby - that sucks about the dept housing kicking you out (maybe). don't they realise that we work our butts off so we can have nice things! Are they taking your loan into account when working out their figures? I really hope they let you stay after all the hard work you've put into that house! How is the b'day party going?
Mim - hope Josh is enjoying his day and how is the duplo building going? Hope you are all having a great time!
Sammy - hope all is going good with the 3 boys!? I honestly don't know how you make those gorgeous cakes you make all the time! I tried to ice fruit cakes for christmas and they were pretty pathetic! I only bought marzipan as I had no idea what I was doing and then I had to go out and buy the fondant a couple of days later when I actually googled how the hell I was suppose to do it! And although I swore that I would never use it again I made Coopers birthday cake and used the fondant which I coloured blue and it was pretty bad too! Too many lumps and bumps and my finger nails kept digging in and argh! Anyways kudos to you!
Strawberry - are you still at your parents? you will have to let me know when you are settled in in Brissy and we can meet up! how exciting that T2 is walking! Geez they grow up quick!
3divas - hope Bridgets UTI has cleared up! My goddaughter got one just recently and was in hospital for a few days and has to go back for tests soon incase she has kidney reflux. And thanks for the tip regarding the TT kit from huggies - I had no idea they did them! Not that I will need one anytime soon - Cooper won't be ready for a while yet!
Us - going pretty good! just got our a/c installed which is lovely and of course cheeky me had to msg my bro in Perth to rub it in!
Cooper is being such a joy and little terror at the same time! He is becoming such a little person now its crazy - I'm really enjoying this stage although its challenging when he wants to throw a tanty over something! he is really starting to talk now - stands there and has a great conversation (although can't always understand him!)
And Darcie is my lovely golden child! Have had a few bad nights with her but such a sweet smiley baby that it makes it all worth while!
Ok I've :ecomcity: enough so I'm off to do some scrapbooking while it is quite!
cheers, Shaz :D

They fully understood how we are right in the middle, a little high for here but not high enough to rent private or buy.
She also said there shouldn't be a problem with the pool approval as its above ground, they thought it was inground!!! lordy if I had that sort of $ I would be in my own home..oh and now you see why we were looked into closely..cash for inground pool so someone thought LOL. and she growled about the idiot who told me wrong info re $ friday for upsetting and worrying unnecessarily all weekend.
tabby ... that's great that you get to stay and get your pool!
Thanks everyone for Josh's birthday wishes and happybirthday to all the bubs who have celebrated in recent days. Love the photos on facebook!
All a bit hectic here. Dh is having issues at work, I'm trying to tie up all the loose ends at my work (I finish the end of next week), it's very hot, and Josh's reflux is playing up. We worked out that it's probably a different formula that we tried that has upset the applecart with Josh, so we changed back yesterday and hopefully he'll feel a bit better.
Josh had a good birthday though - he helped me cook his cake (yes, it was messy, but it was fun) and once dh got home (5pm) he got his presents - lots and lots of trains. He hasn't stopped playing with his trains, puzzles and books since then. He was quite upset with his cousin (same age) who wanted to play with his toys last night (we had family over for dinner). So cute!
Better go, big day ahead! Sorry no more personals. Also having camera issues, so no photos on facebook yet.

Glad you enjoyed the movie 3divas. I haven't been to a movie since I was pregnant with Cameron and trying to escape a heatwave.
Feeling a bit lost here at the moment. Got the news today that one of my bosses from the Sydney firm I work remotely for was killed in an aerobatic plane crash this morning. It was a dangerous hobby of his and my heart would stop everytime I heard of a plane crash on the news but I don't think I ever believed it really would happen to him one day. Feels strange to be here alone and not in the office with my old co-workers - it's a small firm so everyone is pretty close and this is really going to hit it hard. I know it's not like I could do anything even if I was there but I still feel pretty useless being so far away. :(

Tabby- hope approvals get in quickly- the heat this year has been tremendous!
Took the 2 little ones swimming this arvo- they really enjoyed it. 2 little water babies!!
Better go, off to bed early tonight- I really need to sleep.

Had one of the housing centres ring earlier. They seem to think they can indeed get us into our own home...

Be interesting to see what they can offer anyhow.
Just might fore go my pool for that!

3Divas...it's always the way when you can get to bed early. If I get an early night, TJ usually wakes 10.30-11:no:.
Tabby...Maybe this is telling you to hold off on the pool until you really know what direction you want to head in.
An uneventful day here yesterday. TJ decided at 5 this morning that it was time to get up. Managed to keep her in bed until 5.45. I'm already dreading the change back from Daylight Savings.
Have a great day!

Not good news, can only borrow 200,000 :(
Its that loan we took out a bit back holding us down, so she said get as much off that and the car and try for a pay rise for DH and we could get 270,000 and she said they could do something for that for sure..She said we are soooo close!
so I say maybe in a couple of years yes :)

Cat, more :hugs:, another family I know were close with your colleague, very sad.
At least you can see it happening Tabby!
Just when the year ahead was looking positive DH just lost a contract (they decided to go with gyprock instead of render and set plaster) and he doesn't have anything as yet to fill the gap. So annoying as this developer has kept calling DH to talk about this job and met him on site so many times, told him to keep the beginning months of the year free, only to back out at this late a stage - didn't even have the decency to ring himself, got his foreman to call.
Sorry for the rant.

Tabby- sux its not rigjt away but it is gr8 that the possibly of buying is so much closer than you thought!:yelclap:
2snuff- hope TJ sleeps a little longer tomorrow- dread the end of daylight savings too!
I had to take Bridget to the Dr today- she had a temp of 39- they said just a viral thing- so regular panadol it is to keep temps down.

Sammy - :hugs: Hope something comes up for DH.
Tabby - Great news that you can stay in your house, bummer about not being able to buy though. At least you know where you stand.
Us - Pretty uneventful here at the moment. We are going away over the weekend down to the beach & then to the Australian Open on Monday. DH got centre court tickets thru work so DH, DD1 & i are going... never been before. I don't really like tennis all that much but it will be fun & something different.
DD1 isn't too well. She has been complaining of a tummy ache since monday night. The pain is just above her belly button. Its on and off (more on then off) but when its on she really doesn't look very well. Gets all pale & just wants to do nothing. Not eating as much as usual. I thought she might have a bug but hasn't thrown up or been on the toilet so i'm not sure what's going on. Will take her to the dr's tomorrow if it's still around, but my dr is pretty slack these days. He will usually just check her over quickly & says she's fine. So not sure if its worth it. I really have to find a new dr but don't know many good ones around here.

Tiredmummy- I could not see my Dr yesterday so had to see this one that I usuallyrefuse to see- I had to ask him to check Bridgets throat as he was not going to do it yesterday- I was in with him for a whole 2 minutes and it cost $48- just to tell me regular panadol and if she is not better by Friday come and spend another $48 and we will have another look! I hope your dd1 is ok though- my DD1 complains of very similar pain- have always worried about it being an aggrovated appendix after my MIL said she had similar pain for years as a girl and it got really bad one day at went to hospital, they ruled out appendix as the pain was in the wrong spot..... but after further investigation it was her appendix and apparently got them out just in time.
Phoebe slept through last night- 1st time ever!! 10pm til now (7.30) - think she is awake in there now though. I feel like a different person after having a whole 8 hours of undisturbed sleep, apart from the engorged boobs!

3Divas, great about the sleep thru, not so great about the Dr. Makes me appreciate my Drs surgery as they bulk bill for under 16's. Such a crack-up too as we see a Dr David Wynter & Dr Michael Armstrong - didn't even realise we'd picked their names until David was a month or so.
Tiredmummy, hope DD is feling better.
2s'nuff, Michael is doing the 5:30am wake-ups at the moment too, don't know how you've managed to not go bonkers after doing it for so long though.
Well, 2 nights in a row David is skipping a feed and lasting 8-9hrs. Felt great to get 6hrs sleep, he goes into a really deep sleep from the 6/7pm feed. He's also becoming a little chatterbox, his cooing noises are adorable.
DS1 is away which is fortunate as Michael has a cold and is very grumpy, managing to keep him quiet with all his fave shows. We can't play outside because it's too hot and can't go anywhere because the car is stuffed and waiting at the mechanics to be fixed. Hoping it's fixed today so I can get up to mum's. Otherwise she'll have to take DS1 to my godmother's funeral. I'm sad I can't make it, it's just too far away for me to leave the boys with a babysitter and I definitely wouldn't attempt taking 3 little boys on my own.

Yay for those sleep throughs ladies!
just quickly as am off to work soon.
GP's I had one of those 3 divas! He was bloody hopeless and unless I went in there armed with knowledge and pointed him in the right direction we didnt get anything helpful either.
I changed..I now pay $40 up front to a husband and wife team and they are fantastic! They were the ones who got Katie into emergency quicker with that lung infection with a letter where as the other one said just flu , water n panadol go home.
He didnt even check/listen to her chest that day!!!
Me no AF for 4 months now, he did bloods and said okay not menopausal..but "probably" heading there.
No further checks?!!! Have been waiting for a day off so can go my new gp to investigate further.

3divas - :smiliedance: for the sleep thru.
Sammy - Great that David is sleeping for you too!
Ended up taking DD1 to the Dr's at 11pm last night. Called Nurse on Call & they said take her within the next 4 hrs because it sounds like its her appendix. Dr said it could be the start of her appendix flaring up but just to.... (wait for it) take panadol & nurofen together for today & if its not better come back friday morning. Unbelievable! She is still complaining about it this morning even after she has had nurofen. She isn't as pale as she was but still pretty lethargic & doesn't want to do much. She slept next to me last night & slept ok but did ask me to hold her hand a few times last night, poor love.
3Divas&me
22-01-2009, 12:18 PM
Tiredmummy- these Dr's must get commission from the panadol and nurofen companies:laughing: to be sending us home with- just take pain relief for a few days!!! Atleast you did get it all checked out- just take her back if she gets worse or you get worried.
Sammy- Woohoo on the sleep for you- I am guessing Phoebes is a one off- hopefully it continues though. Hope Michael feels better soon. Dont blame you not going to the funeral with the 3 kids- as much as you might want to, would be difficult- I can appreciate where you are coming from.
2snuff- You must dread going to bed most nights- knowing what you are in for- the waking I mean- I dont know how you function.
Tabby- strange about your a/f- how do you feel about it possibly being menopause?
Going out to have a coffee with a friend- just at her house- but leaving dh at home with the kids:thumbsup:

Tired...I wouldn't accept that docs advise, instead get her to another doc or Emergency. It's been going on too long to be fixed by a dose of panadol
Sammy...:smiliedance:for longer sleeps. I think I'm always on the edge of going bonkers with my sleep (or lack of) patterns. I'm hoping 2 weeks on holidays in kalbarri will change TJ's sleep patterns. I'm hoping lots of activity will wear her out enough to sleep longer. I'm also hoping it will revive me enough to try something new with her to try and get her to sleep. After so long now, it's easier just to give her milk in the night to settle quickly and at least give me some sleep rather than battle with it and get no sleep.
3Divas...enjoy yur kid-free coffee break

3divas - enjoy the kiddie free coffee . Such a simple pleasure but one taken for granted pre-children!
tired mummy - :hugs: for your DD1. Doesn't sound like an average tummy ache poor thing. If you are worried I'd take her back to the Dr (or another Dr) sooner and hopefully get some more constructive help. Hope she feels better soon.
2snuff (sigh..I still always start to type 'mouse' first!) - better sleeps tonight hopefully:fingerscrossed:. If knew why Cam sleeping so well lately would bottle it and send it across to you. Don't know how you manage to hold down a job. Hope the holiday does the trick - maybe a chance for your DH to step in.
Thanks all for the condolensces after my boss's tragic accident (it was Temora 3divas). Not surprised you know other people effected Sammy, he just had so many different business & social connections.
On a lighter note, Cam's latest trick is to copy me when I'm calling "sweetie" to get DH's attention. It's so cute him walking around the house yelling "sweetie" at the top of his voice and searching for his dad!

Waiting for the Dr to call me back right now- Bridget is on the lounge- temp of 39.6. Tried to give her panadol- she just threw it up- is sipping at water, has not eaten today. I managed to get a look in her mouth and it is her tonsils- they have puss! So let the receptionist know how disappointed I was in the Dr yesterday and requested to talk to my own today and told her i refuse to pay another $48 when I suggested she had tonsilitis yesterday!!!!
tired*mummy
22-01-2009, 05:02 PM
Hope Bridget is ok. Good on you for speaking to the receptionist. It is disgusting how they get paid a fortune for doing nothing, especially with little kids.
DD1 is still not too well. She isnt complaining as much but i have noticed she gets worse/complains more after eating  So not sure whats happening. Will still keep an eye on her though.

22-01-2009, 08:08 PM
So the Dr rang me back but not til 6:20pm- and I have to take Bridget in tomorrow at no charge- but in the meanwhile frequent panadol- which I have to give to her via suppositry as she keeps throwing up the oral liquid. It has dropped her temp heaps but her poor throat is sore and while I was having a quick look I also noticed her top molars coming through- so that could be causing some extra discomfort too.
Tiredmummy- hope dd1 has a better night for you.

LOL the "Sweetie". For a while DD1 called DH "Babe".
Tired....Hope DD1 starts to feel better soon. I'd still have her checked out by another doc.
3Divas...:hugs: for poor B. :yelclap:for standing up to the docs. Our docs are great. They'll often give me a prescription for the kids and say, try panadol for a day or so and if there's still no improvements, start the ab. More often than not we don't need the ab, but at least they are there without another trip to the docs. Ours also bulk bills for under 16's.
Hope everyone enjoys their Australia Day break. DH is out, so no great plans here. Might go to the beach if I'm in the mood and get some more sleep. If not, might visit a friend with a pool. At least they've revised our temps for Sun/Mon down to 35/34. Better than the 37/38 they predicted earlier in the week.

I don't think any of us are seriously TT yet (girls or boys).
I put TJ on the potty before a bath and first thing in the morning. Sometimes we get a wee, sometimes not. Aside from that she doesn't seem to be getting the 'need to wee' messages yet. When I have her in nickers, she just leaves puddles everywhere:p.

Hi Aries, Wow - can't believe Rohan is already 6months but then again I can't believe David is already 2months. TT - will try in Spring in readiness for pre-school next year.
Don't know how much more mischief Michael can get into this morning. 3 days without leaving the house is driving us crazy (too hot & no car till this afternoon :fingerscrossed: )
1. Tried to run over David with his toy stroller (not sure how intentional???)
2. Brought the bubble machine inside dripping liquid right thru the living room.
3. Tipped over a load of newly hung out washing on the airer as he was playing with the coat hangers a bit too vigorously.
4. Was annoyed with me when I wouldn't let him have his toothbrush while I was in the shower (not now that I know dirt is his preferred choice of toothpaste) So instead he threw a pile of his own toys plus my paperback over the courtyard wall into the common garden.
It's not yet midday!!! Bring on naptime!

Aries- Nice to see you popped back in- see your pictures on f/b- your boys are very cute!

Trying to catch a wee with one of those plastic bags is impossible. I refuse to use them.
Try sitting her the potty with a big drink infront of her fav DVD. Yuo might have to sit with her to keep ehr on the potty. It's the only way I've ever been able to get a sample form the girls prior to TT.
I don't know why they haven't figured out how to get a sample out of a wet nappy.

3Diva's - Big :hugs: & happybirthday for tomorrow. I would've come to your party if i wasnt so far away  Hope Bridget is feeling better today!
Ended up taking DD1 to the hospital last night as she was in quite a lot of pain. Couldn't sleep & when she fell asleep woke up crying in pain. Couldn't lay still & was doubled over so thought i'd better take her to emergency. Dr's said it could be the start of appendicitis as she has white blood cells in her urine or she could have a bad urine infection. I have to go back later today cos they sent her urine to the lab for more testing & hopefully should know more by this afternoon. He said if its not a urine infection & looks more likely to be appendicitis then i have to just watch her & WHEN she gets worse take her to the Childrens Hospital... oh and of course just to take panadol
We are supposed to be going away tomorrow morning, so hopefully its just a urine infection or something so she can get started on antibiotics. I dont really want to take her far away if it could be her appendix.

Tiredmummy- hope your dd1 is on the mend- poor little duck! Hope you enjoyed the beach.
Tabby- always the way with kids- sleep in when you need to get up and go somewhere and wont when you have the opportunity to sleep!!!
Clesthaven- :hugs: sorry to hear about you and dh- was it a mutual decision? Must be very difficult- do you only have the 1 child?
Bridget is finally on the mend- she is still not 100% but so much better than 2 days ago.
What are you all doing for Australia day? Not sure what we are doing except cleaning and washingthis morning- I go back to work tomorrow!!

3divas - glad Bridget is feeling a little better and glad you enjoyed your bday party. Happy birthday by the way!
clesthaven - sorry to hear about you and your husband. You are welcome to come and chat here any time
tabby - not too many sleep-ins here either. At least DH will get up during the week if it's close to his normal work wake-up time of 6am and then I can stay in bed until nearly 7. And we try and take turns on weekends although will be a different story while he's away the next 10 weeks.
aries - good to hear from you. I guess you could say we are toilet training here although it's really just trying to get him on the pot at the right times at the moment. Had him in undies all day one day last week and went through 5 pairs. But at least he would stop and tell me as soon as he realised he was wet and so I could get him to the pot before the floor actually got wet.
tiredmummy - hope the antibiotics do the trick and DD1 feels better soon. Pity they didn't suggest urine tests any earlier.
Happy Australia Day everyone. Hope you all have a great day! :)

Tabby, gorgeous pics as usual!
Tiredmummy, did you enjoy your day at the tennis? How is DD1 feeling?
Mim, hope you don't mind but after seeing Josh's cupcakes I definitely want to try out my new train & plane cutters for Michael's Birthday? Josh looked so cute in all your new FB pics.
Us, well I'm up preparing for the next few cakes, a 4oth plus Michael's cupcakes and big cake. David slowed me down for a feed around 10pm. Why do I always find my groove so late in the night?
sam ... go for it! Thanks for your help with answering my questions about cake decorating.
tabby ... that's one cute photo!
cat ... all the best with the TT. We're still working on getting Josh to actually sit on the potty! All the best for when your dh goes away.
clesthaven ... welcome. Sorry to hear about you and your dh spliting. :hugs:
tiredmummy ... how is dd1? Better I hope.
3Divas ... glad you got anniversary presents after all! Looks like your party was fun. happybirthday :)
I didn't realise I hadn't posted for a while, I read the thread a few times a day. It's been hectic here mostly with the preparations for Josh's party yesterday. We had so much work to do to get the house and backyard respectable and childsafe. But sitting back on the deck watching the adults sitting down enjoying lunch in the shade and the kids happily running around was worth it. And if you haven't seen the cake my dh made, then check it out on facebook (send me a pm if you don't have my facebook details and want them). He was up til 2am 2 nights in a row to make it happen ... and I had no idea he was such a good cake decorator!
It's my last week at work this week ... I'm leaving after 3 years. Then I start my new job next week. It's going to be mega hot this week which isn't what I need as I've got a lot to do in the coming days to tie up loose ends at this job and the heat saps my energy. I just hope we don't get bad bushfires this week.

Hi everyone
Sammy - The tennis was good. It was better than i expected it to be  I'm not a huge sports fan but it was a great day out.
Mim - I'm not looking forward to the heat this week either. I dont mind when its hot but i hate it when its 38-41.
3Divas - Looks like you had an awesome night. You looked stunning
DD1 is still complaining of tummy pain. On saturday night we tried to get an early night as we were leaving early for the beach but she was in a lot of pain again & ended up waking ever damn hour. So i was so exhausted when we got up at 6am. She wasn't too bad through out the day but then on sunday night at the holiday house she was in a lot of pain again but this time the pain had moved over to her right side. I started to worry a little because where we were staying there was no phone & we had no service on our mobiles. But i ended up giving her her meds & pain relief & she slept thru. She wasn't too bad at the tennis either but stayed at my mums last night so not sure how she was overnight. I am supposed to take her back to my GP for another urine test later this week.

Tiredmummy, I'd be a little concerned if she's still in so much pain it affects her sleep. A few years ago I had a really severe UTI, it started as something mild but escalated really quickly and I felt like I had a hot knife twisting in my side. Turned out the infection had gotten up near my kidney and they gave me antibiotics thru an IV. It helped pretty quickly. Maybe thay need to give DD stronger antibiotics.
3Divas, have fun at work . I can't wait till DS1 goes back to pre school tomorrow.

3Divas...:p hope you got it together this morning and got to work on time.:yelclap: for you anniversary and b'day pressies. Lovelinks do some beautiful beads. I've got a few on my bracelet.
Here's the link to where I buy all my glass beads: http://host.pappapak3.com/~nelliema/catalog.php?category=5
Tabby...I'd give DH a kick about the weekend get-ups. What I'd give for a 7am sleep in. We are up before 6 every morning.
Clesthaven...:hugs: hope the separation goes smoothly for both you and the kids.
Cat...:yelclap: for the TT. I only find out after the puddle when I have nickers on TJ.
Sammy...I don't know how you manage to product fantastic cakes with a little one.
Mim...Great to hear J's party went well. Good luck for finishing up work this week.
A non-eventfull weekend for us. Didn't even make it to the beach. A couple of cr@ppy nights sleep, so I wasn't in the mood to lug everything down to the beach. Have reverted to giving TJ half a dose of Phenergen a couple of nights. If her second wake-up is still early in the night, she gets a dose. Means I get a couple of hours sleep at least.
Take care,
Lisa

I expect today to be questions and bloods taken. I only have a missing AF nothing else lol....sigh! and that was that lol
I read that to correctly see via bloods you need several over a time period.
Ill get her to get the ball rolling with those tests and a fertility specialists referral while we wait
as for rest, best can do is sit around...Katie hasnt had a day nap for months! My whinging FB is combined broken sleep and the no break from being a mother and a wife...
LOL! What am i thinking going for another? yes. mad am I :D
but I would quit work for that

A quick questions out of the blue - what is everyone planning to do about kindergarten/pre-school. Pre-Cameron I'd always planned to send any of my kids to 3 year old kindergarten just like me and my siblings had been. But that was in Victoria and here in QLD it seems a fairly uncommon practice. I've only managed to find one centre that is a genuine kindergarten centre, all others are kindy programs at childcare centres(the programs are probably fine but just not what I'd had in mind). There is one nearby pre-school but because of their cut-off dates Cam won't be eligible until he is 4. Goodness knows if we'll even still be living here then!

TJ's in full time daycare now, so I'm not worried about 3yo kindy.
In WA kids start Kindy the year they turn 4, if they turn 4 before the end of June. If they turn 4 after the end of June, they start in the year they turn 5.
DD1 started Kindy the year she turned 5, but I'm lucky TJ will start the year she turns 4. (one less year of full-time daycare to pay for:rolleyes:)
If you can't find a 3yo kindy, have you thought about daycare 1 day a week to give him some interaction with other kids (without you there).

Cat- thats a hard one for me to answer- cause I work 3 days and mum looks after the kids for me I have not considered any of those places yet really- I cant offord daycare- and I only know of one place here locally thats more of a kindy but dont think they take them til they are 4???
Dd1 went to daycares eversince she was 1 and when she was 4 went to transition- which was like a pre-prep thing at one of thr private schools here- not sure though that I can really afford it all with the other 2- might be able to afford one day each at a push. Have noticed though all states do things a bit different re: pre-prep/kindy.
Tabby- hope Dr appt went well.
Tired- Hows dd1/ I am with Sammy- bit of a worry if there is pain still after being on a/b for a few days.
2snuff- good old phenergan hey- I even use it on myself when I need to sleep.... hey theres an idea:rolleyes: Thnks for the bead site- went and purchased some new pandoras for my pandora bracelet today so now it is just about as full as my lovelinks. They are expensive though.
So work went really well today- nice to be back- though the kids dont arrive til tomorrow. Have taken on some extra responsibility this year as yr 11 advisor- not sure if I have dont the right thing there or not- but looking forward to the challenge.
Bridget seems to be on the mend, though today she acted up a bit for dh while I was at work- we thought Phoebe would be the problem- but she was gr8, Bridget not so good.
Better go help dh get the dinner finished- just chicken and salad.

3divas: Am sure youll rise to the new challenge and love it, glad Bridget is on the mend..might explain her playing up cos shes feeling better?
2snuff: whats phenergan anyway?
Cat: sorry, same here as 3 divas. Hopefully wont have to even think about it while yet, Mum and Dad are healthy enough even though old. They love doing it so I think they would be sad if took that away, and mil does fridays
But I agree 2snuff, was thinking even one day a week child care just for the interaction if i do.
Gp was awesome as expected! Taken bloods with lots of things to check, fsh, thyroid, iron..etc Plus a rubella check to make sure alls well there if we are all okay. Was over due a pap smear so that was done there, with the extra charge for a more indepth check. I go back in 2 weeks for results and then the referal to the FS, with the name of previous FS so can follow along from his, not going back that one as wasnt that keen on him so will take relevant info from old one to new one :)
Kinda hard not to be a little excited that i might be heading down the same road as pre Katie, clomid and i just might get my dream and be pregnant again soon! :fingerscrossed:
oh and had a breast exam too and need go get a mammogram as there is a family history and its free every 12 months then, so may as well

Tabby, great that you got a thorough 'going over'.
3Divas, sounds like a good 1st day back!
Cat, I can't afford daycare but DS1 started /pre-school the Jan after he turned 3. He went 2 days last year - some say they get more into the groove with 2 days and 1 day can be a bit unsettling ??? This year DS1 will go 3 days, next year he starts school. It has been a great experience, Ben has made loads of new friends and learnt heaps of cool stuff. His kindy has more mature teachers (all 40+) and it seems like a very nurturing place.
I'm putting Michael's name down at the same kindy the day he turns 2, they don't put you on the waiting list till then but he does get a little preferential treatment as a sibling. So this time next year I'll be preparing to send Michael off. 2 years later as Michael goes on to school we'll repeat the process again with David.

Tiredmummy, how's DD? Is school still on in the heat wave?
3Divas, how's Phoebe's eating going, do you have to worry about BF during school hours still?
Us, well DS1 woke early last night complaining of sore tummy and ear. Popped some 'magic' cotton wool in the ear and dosed him with Nurofen and he promptly fell asleep with DH. Woke up this morning and cheerfully announced pain had gone :D
Michael woke a few times as usual but I rarely get up to him, he usually self settles within minutes and usually it's only moments (enough to wake me up though)
David went from feeding at 11:30pm thru till 5:30am but that wasn't going to set up 4hrly feeds well for kindy drop-off so I popped the dummy in and he slept for another hour which was great. Did the kindy drop-off with David in the Bjorn for the 1st time now that he's too heavy to lug around in the capsule. Also leaves my hands free for Michael & kindy bags. Only drama we had was getting Michael to leave, he was having way too much fun!

Sammy - School doesnt start here until Monday... thank goodness lol. DD1 is ok. She is staying at my mums until Friday & mum said that she hasnt complained about tummy pain so hopefully the antibiotics have kicked in now. But she did ring me & say she has broken out in some sort of rash all over her face so not sure what that is from. How is DS1 enjoying kindy? I used to have the same problem with Sierra when i had to leave... she would crack it cos she wanted to play with all the toys etc
Us - All i can say is it's BLOODY HOT!!! Trying to keep the house cool & keep giving the girls as many drinks & icy poles as they will take. Have housework to do & uniforms to label & really cant be bothered moving. Might have to wait til the weekend. DD1 has had bad tummy pain again overnight  Mum said she asked for her heat pack & was doubled over for a little while but then fell asleep & has been ok since. Did everyone hear on the news & in the news thread about the little girl thrown over the west gate bridge in Melb by her father? I'm so shocked as to how someone could do that. Alas our toilet training success has taken a big (hopefully temporary) leap backward - me thinks the novelty has worn off and toddler stubborness has taken over. We had a big accident tonight. Was just about to take him to the pot under much protest and when I picked him up it was like a water balloon had burst - all over coffee table, floor, couch and me. Sigh...what can you do. For a couple of weeks TJ has been saying something when we do her hair in the morning. yesterday I figured out she was saying 'at the side', she wanted piggy tails (yes it starts this early). So for the past couple of days she's been heading out the door with little spouts of hair sitting out the side, very cute. Will try and get a photo this weekend.
I'm catching up with some of the Perth BH mummies on Saturday night for dinner. Can't wait. My sister is babysitting. :smiliedance: I get to go out and have adult conversation without hovering kids.
Have a great day,
Lisa

2snuff, Im like stuck in a hard place, each one wont move on approval without the others approval first! so annoying. Hopefully the council guy will give a pre approval based on my doing the right things which should be enough. failing that I give up! and will certainly be getting homeswest to fix every little thing that comes along and not us as usual and ill be telling them that.
They need kicking up the butt for failing to recognize good tenants when needed..always focusing on the bad ones well how about aknowledgement of a good one for once
Am so close to saying to hell with it but i want it so bad!
lol at the want for little piggy tails, cute! cant wait to see a pic, glad u got a better night..
and mostly YAY for the night out!!!
cat: same here, not much interest and when is, its gone as quick as comes..not really trying now, will wait until she shows more interest
3divas: :smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedanc e: to Bridget! What a clever girl!
its IS momentous, its a very big girls step to take
good news. i think my mini blast @ dh the night before did something....He spent ages with katie laughing and playing last night and was more attentive to me..just hope it stays that way..When time is right over weekend Im still going to tell him he needs to change and stand up and take his place as Daddy and not just a father..like trips to the park weekend (even if for only an hour ) failing that at least go sit out side with her while she plays, that sort of thing.
I love nothing more than seeing Daddys little girls giggling away with Daddy..I had that...I dont think DH was allowed to ever be a kid from what he and his Mum say..

Cat- LOL out the explosion- can never gage how much or even how little they may have stored in there. I am not actively tt, more getting her use to the concept and hopefully when she has the idea she may choose to do it without too much fuss- well atleast thats my plan. She loves sitting on the big toilet and getting the toilet paper, wipping and flushing and washing hands- has notmrealise she needs to wee first though:laughing:
2snuff- how cute... already styling at the age of 2!! Hair on the side- gr8 look!!! They are funny arent they- think it is different for them when they have an older sister- I have noticed Bridget modelling the behaviours of dd1 on many occasions!
Now Bridget seems to be on the mend- Phoebe is not well- was up with her lastnight with temps up to 39.7- so off to the Dr today to see what may be wrong with her.

We were posting at the same time Tabby- Hope you get your approvals quick enough- this week being a scorcher would have been gr8 to have had it in by. Glad Dh is finally getting the picture about giving you some time- some men naturally know how to be a daddy and some men do need to be led/guided into the role- past experience usually has alot to do with who they are as a parent.
Should have commented too 2snuff- woohoo for the girls night out:smiliedance:- that will be gr8 for you- adult conversation is priceless.

Now I missed you too Wild... posting at the same time:laughing:
Good to hear from you again- tt is hard with 2 little ones thats why I am not pushing it too much- just before I accidently locked Bridget in the laundry- did not know she was there- made Phoebe a bottle and sat down to feed it to her- heard Bridget banging on the door- came out and she had done a little wee- so totally missed that one- very hard to divide my time- thats why if she gets the idea then leads herself- it will be easier on me!

Wild...glad to hear all is going well with your boys.
3Divas...Adult conversation is great, and when it involves serveral Mods, you learn all sorts of things
TJ's definately modelling behaviour. Though I think the hair came from one of her daycare friends who has lots more hair than TJ and often has it in piggy tails:p.

Hey everyone!
Toilet training - sounds like it's all go for some!! Caitlin has done a few wees but she' s quiet unsettled atm with a new baby so not goign to push it right now - she has asked a few times and i just give her lots of praise and we talk about it a lot.
Hair - that's very cute 2snuff... caitlin has no interest in making her hair look purdy atm!! But none of the other girls she "hangs with" do their hair specially. Peer pressure!!!
3divas - youch.. nothing worse than tonsillitis. apart from feeling lousy you can't swallow anything. hope you phoebe gets better soon for you
Us - Daniel's 4 weeks old today! he is wonderful and gaining weight really well now. DH is back at work now but have been getting out by myself a few nights a week which is lovely!! (altho i take daniel so i can feed him!)
Mmmm.... no more goss. thinking of you in Adelaide/Melbourne. It's about time you got some miserable weather tho!!!!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes, cake looking ??? It's all in pieces and I have to finish the 40th cake before I can touch it again!

Thanks!! Its been ok so far. The first week i have been alone with the three its stinking hot
Went to the Mchn today. That was a bit of a struggle lol, even with someone helping me. Boys are (DS2) 16.6kgs and (DS1)15.4kgs. DS2 is 3-4 cms shorter too, so hes a lil fatty. He is in size 3 and some things are a little tight on him. Funny though cos he eats less than DS1. They are hardly talking though but she didnt seem worried. They both had grommets put in in November so Im guessing the lack of speach is because they couldnt hear up till then.
I am finding it pretty easy with the three at home. Its just a bit harder atm because of the heat and I have got an infection in my scar that makes me feel like ive been hit by a truck - but apart from that lol.
But going out is another story. I dont really go out anywhere by myself. I need 4 hands for the boys - and at least one is taken up by Max the new bub hehe.

Ah Mel, I sympathize with the scar infection Mine got so bad i ended admitted back on maternity ward for iv antibiotics when dd was about 7 days old! All was good day 3 though and sent home with ab's . I thought it was just recovery pain! little did i know, had I clicked sooner I would have gotten ab's from gp. now i look back and realise the sweats I was having wasnt the heat alone..and the extreme tiredness not from a new baby.
They have you on anti biotics yes? Hope your feeling better soon :hugs:
Katie is also a chubby bubby size 3 lol
well 2's fit her but we have huge trouble getting her arms into things and over the head lol as they are just too narrow across! She also doesnt eat a lot so i think its her bottle intake of juice etc, shes still attached to it in a big way, not milk though.
ah well, shes very active so am sure will taper out with height growth
im Perth, where abouts are you?
Im sure given time your ds's will be nattering your ears off yep lol ds was a late started but once he got going!!....
Hope the heat eases soon for all of yous who are having it :fingerscrossed:
hi mel ... welcome! glad you could join us! My ds is just going into size 3 tops, but size 2 jeans and some pants still fall down - he's tall and skinny. My ds had grommets at 15 months ... and the bad news from our week is that he's got an ear infection this week and it looks like one grommet has gone! :crying: yep, it was there 2 weeks ago, but now it's gone and almost immediately he has an infection ... so 2nd set of grommets here we come! My brother started his grommets at 10 months and had six sets by 6 ... I wonder if Josh will beat that. At least your twins started that little bit later ... wish josh had.
yep, this week has been crazy. night waking in the extreme (ok, so josh has slept through for 10 months, so any night waking is extreme in my book), extreme heat (44 degrees is just unbearable!), it's been the last week at my current job and on monday I start my new job. Oh and we've got 4 guys staying at our house from today til monday. oh and we're still recovering from josh's party last monday. mmm ... it has been a busy week!
should go to bed, got a big weekend and a grumpy baby to deal with (he hasn't coped well with the heat). sorry for no more personals.

OMG! Im sooo hoping thats not the case for us. We really dont have much money and put the money to do the grommets onto the credit card..so we couldnt possible have them put in again. Especially cos everything was X2!
They started with their ear infections at 12 months, poor lil things. They only got the grommets done Nov last year - so we had basically a year of both waking each night at least once and constant ear infections. I think thats why the transition to having another baby hasnt been TOO tiring for us, because we are used to getting up to kidlets at night lol.

Hi everyone
Sorry its been a while since I've actully posted. My laptop keyboard has gone stupid and keys keep getting stuck which makes it difficult to make any sense! I only just had the smart idea today (I blame baby brain) to plug in the wireless keyboard - works a treat!
Tabby - glad to hear the housing/pool dliemma is sorting itself out:thumbsup: You sound so excited! And I don't blame you! That pic of Katie all worn out is a classic - definately one for her 21st! Fingers crossed for when you get the results from the bt and/or see the fs.
2'snuff - I always go to call you mouse too but can normally correct myself in time! Will be great to catch up! And the Landsdale Farm looks great - will definately be going there! I think we are doing a trip down to Margaret River too (they prob just want me to drive them around the wineries)! lol @ TJ and the "not here" comment! It's amazing what they pickup isn't it? I didn't even realise they still made phenergen (mum loved that stuff cause she actually got a sleep)! Gotta love pig tails on lttle girls - can't wait until Darcie has enough hair. :fingerscrossed: TJ has some more good sleeps for you. adult conversation - whats that!lol!
Sammy - lol @ Michael and his "cleaning" teeth episode! Definately a boy thing to do! I'm always amazed how Cooper can get so dirty (normally in the space of an hour too)! I'd be really p!ssed too about your DH loosing that contract. Has he been able to fill the gap yet?
Mim - glad to hear Josh had an enjoyable birthday! Another boy who loves his trains huh! Cooper has som many "toot toot" now I don't even know where they all are! It's interesting cooking with a 2 yo isn't it! I've done it a couple of times and it has definately tried my patience! Did you get everything finished at your old work? Excited about Monday?
Tired & 3divas - hope all your sick girls are feeling better soon. They all sound pretty sick - poor little chicks.
Cat - sorry to hear about your loss. But how cute is Cam walking around calling "sweetie" lol! I've been thinking about looking into kindy too cause I remember I did Kindy, Preschool then school. Oh no about the burst water ballon - lol! That would have been fun to clean up! Hope it's only temporary for you.
aries - wow I can't believe Rohan is 6 months already - time really does fly! And no TT here for us. Will prob wait until end of the year and then he will hopefully go straight to weeing while standing.
Clesthaven - hi and welcome! That sucks about you and DH. Was it a mutual decision?
wild - hi and glad to hear things are going good with the boys.
Cordelia - good to hear little Daniel is going well! Can't believe its been 4 weeks already - where does the time go? Do you write in the Jan 09 group? I'm trying to get my SIL who just had her baby on 28 Jan to join so she has some support.
Mel - Hi and welcome! There are a few of us who have recently had bubs along with our Jan bubs! gets a bit hard doesn't it? But oh so worth it! Belated happybirthday to your twinnies! Seems a few of our kids have had grommets put in. Cooper got his done June 08. Actually goes back for a checkup end of next month so hopefully they are still there cause local GP thought one was moving. Makes a huge difference though doesn't it?!
Anyways this has taken me ages to type and I'm exhausted so I'm off to bed.
night night, Shaz :-)
mel ... we were told that grommets usually last 6 - 18 months and then you can hope that they fall out in summer and hopefully it will be another 6 months til winter time colds and ear infections. Yet, here we are in 44 degree heat and Josh has an ear infection! go figure! Your two had them at nearly 2 years old, so if they last 18 months, then don't instantly get an ear infection they could be 4 before you know it and hopefully they will have grown out of the problem by then. Hopefully that's what happens for your two. Btw you and I live near each other - 5 or 10 minutes away :)
shazza ... great to hear from you!
tabby ... I forgot how all the night waking makes me feel. I feel groggy and sick and I'm much more grumpy ... and so is Josh. It's really not a pleasant combination. I escaped grumpiness by watering the garden with him just before - he ran into the water coming out of the hose and thought it was great fun!
I started typing this post over an hour ago and got busy, so I have to leave it there ... btw Josh started the day at 5:20am today :(

Its made a huge difference in the ear infections. They havent had one since! I dont know how much difference its made in the sense of hearing though. Either they cant hear me or they just ignore me:rolleyes:

Oh really? I live in Cranbourne, right near the Centro.
I was told the infection is caused by the fluid that cant drain from the ear. Which is supposedly why now when they get sick they still dont get an ear infection. Theyve been pretty healthy though since the op.
Ohhhh a question to those who's bubbies have had grommets, how the HELL do you bath them? I tried to get ear plugs but they just pull them right out. The only way we can wash them is by holding their arms and putting them in the shower with one of us...its bloody hard!

happybirthday Michael! Can't wait to see your cakes Sammy :)
Mel ... we use bluetac - it stays in the ears a bit tighter and is just that little bit harder to get out for little fingers. Josh can still pull it out, but usually doesn't. My ENT was more worried about water getting in during a shower or when swimming than in the bath, so sometimes I don't worry (or just I forget). I looked at your postcode and thought you were in Wantirna - I'm in Ringwood, Cranbourne is still reasonably close though - we should catch up sometime :) For us the grommets made a huge difference in Josh's speech. He had 6 words when he got them and within days he had at least 6 more. Now, at 2 he's got probably 500+ words - he's a real chatterbox.
Tabby ... all the best for the house! Sounds like a great idea!
We went out to my nephews 2nd birthday party today and Josh fell asleep on the way home (only 10 minutes from home), so we both had a lovely afternoon nap. He's so tired though ... he's currently lying on the couch watching tv under his thomas quilt. Now I remember why I was happy to work full time a year ago - it was so much easier than dealing with a tired and grumpy baby. If this continues though it will be horrendous - I'm still full time in my new job and dh is going to be working 4 days not 3 from monday.

YES!!!! to him buying an investment home just for us! He said he would have been thinking of another soon anyhow as they have no retirement funds etc and investing in housing was his.
Wont happen until after July when his taxes are done and he can see just how much but either way he said we will do it, but by waiting if work keeps up as good as has he can spend more than expected on something very nice indeed. when he is ready to sell we will have first offer which wont be for a while..unless we decide we want to sooner its there waiting!
So now the plan is while cheaper rent to get as much of the credit down as possible
he said it will be something fairly new ( 2-3 yrs as he prefers established easier cos everything done ) and will be what i want and will be in by next xmas if not sooner and rent will be minimal !!!

We have been using blu tac too. Maybe we should start bathing them again in very little water hrrmm.
I know Ringwood quite well, I grew up in The Basin and both MIL and my mum still lives there. We only moved out here when I found out I was having twins hehe. Do you ever have meet ups?
WOW! My boys hardly talk still. They look right at you and speak in a major jibberish language, but I have no idea what they are saying. Hayden uses his hands alot too to explain things. I swear they talk to eachother though because if one sees an opportunity to get into mischeif he will go and find the other one and they will be both into it within seconds!:laughing:
