View Full Version : Fitted cot mattress protectors??
Where the heck do I find some?
Today my washing machine chewed the last of my cot mattress protectors to pieces (more so the elastic straps) and so I'm going to have to replace some relatively soon.
Can anyone recommend some brands that may have the fully fitted kind? (Like a fitted sheet)
Please keep in mind I'm in Tassie and our shopping sucks but if anyone has found some in the major stores I'd love to know!
Thanks! :)
I'm 89% sure that I saw some in Big W today, Anna... near the lamb skin liners
Only 89% sure Nikki?
Geez, I'm not sure if that's sure enough to make me go to Big W tomorrow - however it might just be sure enough to warrant a couple of phone calls to the stores to check! ;)

I have 2
One from baby2kids in rosny which is like a fitted sheet and was $30 and it is really good- and- then I have another cheaper one that i got from Big W that is a bit crinkly and not like a fitted sheet- just floats on top of the mattress- I use this as a backup.
good luck.
Ooo thank you! I try and avoid that shop as they're majorly expensive - however I might just call them tomorrow and see what they have (do you happen to know the brand??)
I do have a couple of those ones that sit on top of the mattress too however my kids toss and turn something shocking so I'm forever adjusting the protector underneath .

I just got mine from our local baby shop, was also around $30. But I'm in Canberra so it's probably not much use to you!
I wouldn't imagine they'd be too hard to come by though.
Thank you MrsPotts! I don't suppose you remember the brand? We've got a few baby stores here that do stock most brands (or could get them in) and also Harris Scarfe sometimes stock some obscure brands and might be worth a phone call tomorrow.

I can't remember which one it was...but it was either BigW, Target or Kmart....about 2 months ago (I'm in QLD though).

Anna, sorry no I don't remember the brand.
Actually..... I just had a look (DD2 is still in the bassinet so the protector isn't on the cot yet - didn't think of that before!).
It's a Snugfit - and it's even Australian Made
I buy my fitted matress protectors from spotlight, and they are only $10 :smiliedance: bargin really, its even better when they have so much percentage off storwide :smiliedance:

Ooo thank you! Snugfit - I'm pretty sure I bought a couple of single bed waterproof mattress protectors in that brand from Harris Scarfe!!

OMG! How ironic that our one and only Spotlight store just had a fire yesterday! So they're closed til further notice! :( However might look out to see if they're going to have a fire sale - OR I might call the store at the north of the state and see if they'll post some down!
I knew my protectors were on the way out - however last night my darling boy had a coughing fit and threw up a bit but poor thing went back to sleep all through it! So after I stripped the bed and got him all washed up - I realised that it was definitely time to upgrade - that these ones just weren't going to last til the new baby arrived - ahh well, they've lasted 4 children! Mighty effort!!
Spotlight, Holy Sheet and Better Baby Deals ;) Good luck...

oh no, always the way, hope you can find some
I must say the ones you've got now have done well  with 4 kids, thats inpressive, mine only ever last a few mths, cause I do stupid things with them like put them through a hot wash and melt the waterproof backing, or for some stupid reason put them through the dryer  I really shouldn't be let loose with the washing lol, too many disasters
Lol! Oh believe me - I'm a GREAT one for washing disasters myself! I have a wonderful stain removing product that's awesome for getting rid of small amounts of colour that has run or for things like pen and realllly hard stains. It's a dylon 'ointment' that you dab on - you get it from spotlight () or from some supermarkets :).
Found some of those snugfit ones online Mrs Potts - might go hunting around tomorrow so I can see what they are like before I buy!
Oh and Rowie - believe it or not, Hobart has a Holy Sheet! But ours is ULTRA expensive and teeny tiny - I'll call them and see what they've got anyway!
ooooh I might have to get that "ointment" i've had to throw out tones of clothes and stuff because of marks on them  thanks for that
hope you find some protectors soon

yeah those floaters are less than ideal- dont look that comfortable to sleep on either.
Just had a look and there was not a tag or anything on it to say the brand. I *think* the brand was bubba blue.
I called B2K today and although they were a bit rushed on the phone, they gave me a good enough of idea of what they had in stock.
Also, Babyworld had the bubba blue ones for $20 and most of the other stores had some type of protector but I'm probably going to go to one of the baby stores and pay the extra. Although Spotlight had a tontine one and a playgro one and can post them down from Launceston since the Hobart store won't be re-opened for another 3 weeks! Geeez it must have been SOME fire! Although I guess they have to throw most of the fabric away and re-stock :(.
Do you want me to see if I can get you one and post it over?
Rowie:hugs:
Probably too late, but I'll let you know anyway, I always get mine from Target :)
