Okay I'm useless now that we're in a new thread as I forget all personals.

c38 yes should have set up a betting thread for MOS

babywez re the mantra cry, I found at the start, it helped to have me in the room but not looking at her. Just sitting there reading a book in her line of sight so she felt reassured that I hadn't 'abandoned' her lol

Thanks everyone re bottle advice. It has all been welcome. We will just perservere  I am trying not to stress about it but it is heartbreaking trying to feed her from it when she cries and exhausts herself :crying:

Welcome back kelectable

Hmmmm I texted my so called bestie this morning (thought I would be the bigger person and all) asked how her xmas was etc. Anyway after a couple of texts back and forth she asked me out to lunch on Wednesday - PROGRESS

Miss S is catnapping today, but she did do a 2 hour morning nap. I shouldn't complain lol. We went shopping today and I spent $100 in PP  BUT in the sale I saved $45 and I got for that her first pair of jeans (been looking for ages for a nice plain 'trendy' pair without the pink flowers or bits of patches on them etc) a pair of denim cutoffs, a white cheesecloth singlet top (so pretty with a little ribbon weaved through lace around the middle), a pair of white trackies (white I know....but can go with any top), a pair of white pants and a pair of aqua blue pants that look so pretty with her eyes.

She loved her mesh food thing today, had it for the first time with a piece of apple.

She is still not up to crawling yet and sounds like most bubs are/or on their way. She is still trying to master the art of rolling from her tummy to back though rolls all the time from back to tummy. She is happy enough like that for a while, then she is stuck and screams and cries and it escalates so not even up on her knees or anything yet. Should I be worried about her development in this area?
c38 yes she loves to stand. Maybe she'll just go straight to walking without the crawling in between......

k8y -The CD is great. DD put it on for him & was singing along to him & he thought it was fantastic!

C&L's mum -I was your SS. Hope they liked them.

Kelectable -Great photos. Sounds like you're going to have your hands full, LOL! It's so hard though with older kids. Don't know about yours, but mine are forever leaving things around on the floor that they shouldn't & of course they're the things he goes straight for.

As for sleeping through the night, I've been lucky in that Chais has slept through since about 4 months. But now with this teething, he's woken up twice this week around 3am wide awake! The first night I gave him a bottle as he wouldn't settle, but the second night I just ignored him (wasn't crying, just kicking his blankets around & chatting) and he must've fallen back alseep cause he then woke me up around 6 ish. This better not be a new habit!

He's gone from an easy going baby who was happy to be on his own, to a baby who needs constant stimulation! It can get very draining, especially when I feel terrible. Has anyone else gone like this?

Yes my older kids leave stuff all over the place, Kara hasnt ventured out of the lounge room yet so, so far so good.

The other week Kara decided to wake up at 1245am and went back to bed at 4am, she was playing and squealing so loudly that i had to bring her into the lounge room so she wouldnt wake anyone up. she was up again at 6am.

Yes we need constant attention in our house. Im lucky the older girls play with her a fair bit. but she pulls hair if they get to close or she bites and im not sure how to handle that. any ideas??? Of ciurse the girls then get the s**** and wont talk to her.

Kotakai - Yeah very full on now that he is up and moving i cant believe you turn your back and he is out of site in a sec. The older kids are great with him but sometimes they worry me coz they are constantly laughing at him and makes me think they are going to turn him into a clown coz he loves it when they laugh .
Its funny he has all these great toys but as soon as one piece of paper is on the floor he is instantly there and straight in the mouth it goes.
Was very funny his first reaction to crawling on the tiles his first touch then he was laying on it giving it a lick to see what it tasted like.

K8y - re those mesh things ive wondered about them do you soften the apple first or just chuck it in there and they mash it with their gums? if so sounds like it could also double as a great teething rusk.

Thanks for the welcome backs :D Have a nice night all.

hi all,
welcome flicka and welcome back kelectable- the photos are cute....flicka you'll have to share a photo...

well soo much to catch up on so no personals!

about rusks- Pip has tried it once and loved banging it but no sucking? will try again soon, she has one of those mesh things but haven't tried it yet. she is lazy and doesn't care that I feed her- not that it is less messy!!

we are very lucky with sleeping, Pip typically goes from about 8.30 to 7am...:fingerscrossed: and touch wood this continues after reading that. occasionally she'll wake. don't really know how it happened, but not trying to change anything!!

taswegians the taste thing sounds great...glad you enjoyed it.

Pip is sitting up all the time no and rarely loses her balance. anyway someone is whinging so better go feed her

night all if I don't get back on!

My mum was worried cause I didn't crawl until 8 months & even then not very much or very well. But then I got up & walked at 9 months. I learnt to crawl after I could walk

k8y -How is Summer's reflux going? Is she still on the meds?

Oh am glad he likes the cd :goodvibes:
Summer has always been a constant stimulation baby, right from day dot. It is exhausting but perhaps it's a passing phase as the constant stimulation might be distracting him from his teething pain? :hugs:

I just put a piece of peeled apple cold from the fridge in there and she loved it, gummed on it and sucked it (like I would LOVE her to suck on a bottle!).

Yes - lucky girl

k8y -How is Summer's reflux going? Is she still on the meds?

I guess all babies are different and I shouldn't compare, but it's hard not too.

Re the reflux not so good. The past 3 weeks she has been chucky and the past week very whingy like in the old days. I was wondering if it was her teething but am not so sure. I am increasing her losec dose (she is still on 10mg/day) so will see how she is in a couple of weeks of doing that. Do you give a dose in the morning and night? I'm not sure whether by increasing her dose I should do so by giving her some at night or just increasing the amount that I give her once/day in the morning....

How is Chais goingwith his?

Let us know the results. Poor Miss C.
Best of luck with your IL's..... what a way to ruin your new year by seeing it in with them :hair:
Did you end up talking to your DH about what you wrote down? It must be hard because it's his family, though DP never misses an opportunity to bag my mum out. Probably because I do it regularly :o so he feels it's licence to do the same! (must stop doing that)

No I wouldn't worry at all hun,Casey is not crawling he looks like he wants to as he gets up & rocks but he just rolls everywhere @ this stage, hes not sitting up yet, although when I sit him up he is getting stronger & doesn't fall over for a min :D Jacob was 8 months before he crawled & he was off...then climbed furniture @ 9months but didn't walk on his own fully till he was 15months,first tooth 8months...Casey already has his second,so they all different love.

Re:Did the paed say reflux can settle down a bit when they are 6months & over?

:thumbsup:Good for you making the first move with your friend.

Casey needs more stimulation now,he can cry when I leave the room thats if he wants me,it all gets draining as I have a 3year old who constantly craves my attention aswell.
:hugs:

Casey can pull Jacobs hair but of course Casey has know idea what hes doing,Jacob's pretty good actually he usually laughs & moves away, poor Casey has coped his fair share from Jacob, as Jacob used to hit him a bit (jealous):(....very hard
I think just explaining to the girls that Kara is only a baby & she doesn't realise what she is doing & for them to be patient & just sit further away if she starts to pull their hair etc.
Soon they will all be the bestest buddies

How do you post a pic??? I cant remember.

babywez
29-12-2008, 19:21
I don't know if you can post a pic here, most of us post them on facebook or somewhere else then put the link here.

We came home tonight to a MOUSE IN THE GARAGE! I had got out of the car and got screaming Nicklas out of the back, before DH put the car in, walked in, saw a mouse like shape on the floor (DH had turned the lights off and just had the parkers on) ...DH said he has never seen me jump that high. AND I screamed, which made Nick scream even MORE. Now the poor mouse is under a bucket, on a rug, in the back yard. I asked DH what he was going to do with the mouse, he said he doesn't know! The weird thing is its been eating poison in the garage for days now and still isn't dead!?

We were at my mum's having dinner and a killer storm is rolling in so we high-tailed it home. Didn't even have time to shower or change Nick into his jammies b/c he was screaming so much, so I just fed him, now he's asleep  Putting him in his jammies will be lots of fun. Not.

But we did get half an apple pie to bring home! I shouldn't...but I'm going to. I walked this morning and went to tennis for an hour tonight.

Hi :ecomcity:ers

BB I had yummy food too. Didn't get there until about 230 and was there until 530. My friend bailed at the last minute, and my other friend who is ALWAYS there..left not long after I got here as he was so hung over. So I got a pile of food and went and sat watching the buskers... Though theres not as many as in past years. The woman on the trapeze is good. Gabe was facinated by her. He liked the crowd...ended up asleep in the middle of all the noise.

I dont like mice on the floor... If they run near me Ill jump. but pet ones in someones hand are ok. Lizards and snakes I hate...

Baby wez, dont worry about putting him in jammies..I wouldn't, I 'd just slide off things like maybe jeans that might be uncomfy.....but if I thought it might wake him, I'd just leave him be

Such nonsense on TV tonight. I'm waying up watching a dvd or having an early night with a book...

back gain and I apologise flick- have been calling you flicka!!

about photos on FB apparently you can be quite specific in your privacy settings to ensure that people you don't want to see piccys or your profile can't..will have to look into it more. Flick I don't blame you for being careful! I am too and am without ex's baggage!

oh DH and I were talking today and he said he'd be ready to have another bub:eek: we have talked about it and want to start trying atthe end of next year- but he is happy to bring it forward. in some ways I am keen, but for 2 selfish reasons would like to wait, one is my 30th next June and the other is we plan to go overseas next year and would not do it pregnant and don't really want to do it with 2 little ones- figured we can do another big trip when they are older....food for thought though!
given I fell pregnant straight away I am a bit iffy on just letting it go IYKWIM???

I am not afraid of mice, but could be by a big lizard a think....and of course get scared if something jumps out at me...hope you have settled down now babywez.

just copying Pip's photos onto a dvd and then of to bed methinks!

Have to get to bed, but what is this mesh food thing you've all been talking about?

I have been talking more and more lately about "just" having Nicklas. Given that when he's older he'll be able to live here or the US, if he decides to move over there, we could move too! If we had another child here, we couldn't. Or, we could, but when they were older, we'd always be apart from one or the other and that makes me sad already!

But then DH was playing with Nick on the floor a couple of days ago and said, "I want another baby". I said, "What, bored of that one already?"

I too would like to be back in "shape" before getting PG again. But then I think "all that hard work to just get fat again! Might as well just do it now then lose all of it!" :D

Ok really must get to bed now!

aww k8y wish i had the magic bottle answer:hugs:. i never had so much trouble with the other 2. he wont even try just screams his head off. then when he finally gets the boob he kinda does this little chuckly/laugh thing and latches on like a pirranah (sp?). i have let him scream histerically for up to half an hour when im feeling particularly stubborn about it but i never win. he either goes to sleep and is up in 30 mins to try again or i give in cause i feel like the worst mother in the world. dh is just like let him scream he will have to take it but ijust feel so bad. i try him every 2nd feed. tried the cup the pram someone else doing it etc dont know really what to do except keep trying

Morning All

I have a new username, bit nicer than sk6!

K8y, no I didnt give DH the letter re the ILs, i thought it sounded a bit nasty. I truly cannot think of a more horrible way to see in the new year babysitting the MIL. Im sorry if I sound like a b!tch, but how can she think of staying with people when she is completely incontinent??

babywez, you made me laugh re the mouse, I personally dont have a problem with them, although I freaked out when a rat fell on my back when I was pulling down the rollerdoor on the shed..ewwww. BTW, the rats in the shed have been long gone, thank goodness.

SMO3, I was exhausted just reading your post, you poor thing.

Back soon.

babywez
30-12-2008, 07:50
Wow SMO3...how do you do it? And look after 2 others as well??? You truly are supermum! Have you started him on solids? Or thought about trying one of those day-sleep-monitor things? I am pretty sure the CHN's in QLD do day-sleep things (can't remember the technical name for them, obviously!). Nicklas sleeps much better than that and I still feel like a zombie! The last 3 nights he's slept 7:30-4:30, 8:30-3:30 then 4-5:15, last night he slept 7:30-9:30 then 10-4:30. Its the early mornings that are tough. I don't know why he has this internal clock that goes off at 4:30 every morning. And even if I feed him he won't go back to sleep. He's sleeping now. Have to move him into the car to go to tennis. Hopefully he stays asleep through the car ride and into his stroller at the tennis courts!

He's 6 months old today! I can't believe it. Anyway, I called the Dr yesterday to make an appointment for his 6 month shots (been meaning to do it for, oh, 3 weeks now) and the girl who answered said "I don't know when our nurse is coming back. You'll have to call in the morning and speak to the girl at the desk then. She'll know." Grrr. Is it a big deal if they get their shots a week or so late? His 2 and 4 month shots were to-the-day.

During the day its sounds like you have a good routine going its just the night time that he wants to play....A night OWL......maybe ask the CHN for some suggestions,is he really hungry when he wakes @ night or is it by habit? I know its just so easy to feed them I was getting into that habit with Casey but have stopped, but if hes really upset with his teeth I have fed him.
Can he self settle on his own? Use a dummy?
I dont know how you DO IT!! I would go mad:dizzy:

SMO3 - We were up every hour till 2am and then i thought has to be her teeth so i went to get her some panadol (bonjela wasnt working) and the cheeky little thing was asleep when i got back and slept thru till 6am. i used to be able to time her wkeups, 3hrs on the dot now its all over the place.
Babywez - I dont think it does matter. Kara didnt do to well after her 2mth old needles (had nearly all the side effects) so i was a bit reluctant to get her 4mth old ones. so i waited till she was 5.5mths and the doc didnt have a prob with it.

Toddler!!! well i was having a convo with my 4yr old yesterday and i said something and she replied "well DERRR MUM, as if i didnt know that" What could i say, I was in shock.

Well we found a place to have our wedding. now we just need a spare $5000 to actually have it. I found my wedding dress to. Its not the one i originaly wanted but i like it, and it was 80% off because some of the beading had fallen off, but that is easily fixed, other than that its perfect, and its silk so nice and soft and unlike my friends dress i dont need help in going to the toilet lol (she didnt realise until after she had paid for it that she will need 2-3ppl to elp her go)

Morning all

Forgot to say yesterday that I went to Myer & got Chais some cute shirts yesterday. I love their Sprout brand, and some were marked down to $7 each!!!!!!

Kyles I also saw in Myer they had these all in ones that have no sleeves but come down to the knees & are very thin & light. Might be good crawling clothes cause they're cool & they cover the knees.

That's exciting that some of you are thinking more babies! I wouldn't worry about your weight though, you can always sort that out once you're finished. That's my plan anyway

I do believe teething & solids can muck around with their reflux. Chais is on the 20mg tabs & he has half at 6am & half at 6pm. I was told it's best to do that as they last 12 hours. Maybe try that with Summer's. I just cut it in half with a sharp razor blade. His seems to be under control at the moment.

Both my girls.

Morning ladies - blinking heck you lot can talk. Sounds like we are all having our ups and downs. I'm at work writing this. It's still killing me to leave DD 2 days a week even though she's at home with her dad:) I can't wait to get home at the end of the day and the train doesn't go quick enough for me!

We've been really lucky in that DD has slept through from about 6 weeks. She occasionally wakes up at night but usually sends herself back to sleep. She rarely wakes up crying (in fact I can't remember that last time that happened at night). Mind you day sleeps are still hit and miss with her.

It's been really hot here the last few days so it's a battle keeping her cool especially when she's a hot baby at the best of times.

She's still not rolling, but is sitting up unsupported without problems, and is desperately trying to crawl. I think she'll miss the rolling stage all together.

She was grabbing her bottle and feeding herself but has gone lazy and won't do it anymore, she's also not very interested in feeding herself.

She now has 200ml of milk 4 times a day and the day usually goes like this;-

-6.30ish milk
-7.30ish farex or cereal and apple and pear or peach for her brekkie
-8.30ish sleep for 40 mins or could even be an hour
-10.30ish milk
-short sleep
-2.30ish milk
-3ish veg and chicken or mince
-sleep for around an hour
-6ish bath
-6.30ish milk
-7ish custard and apple and pear or peach (gave this to her last night for the first time)
-7.30ish bed

So when should I start giving her food before her milk, and should I move her 3pm feed up to lunch time (though it feels like I spend all my time feeding her!) She has 3 big tablespoons for her main meal and then a couple of tablespoons for her other meals. I'm going to reduce her milk to 180ml too at some point - I just don't know when!!!!

Still no sign of teeth tho there's a lot of finger in mouth action happening.

Ok better go and do some actual work - sorry no personals today but just Hi and big hugs to all.

SMO3 you must be exhausted
Gosh 3 months you've been trying re the bottle? I've only just started and her reactions sound just like Dylans
IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE GOING BY THE NAME OF "THE BOTTLE WHISPERER"????

Oh yeah MOS is on holidays but she still managed to sneak into an internet cafe to check up on us

Gorgeous pics flick

oconky another bub!!!! how exciting. DP not ready to talk about another one yet and I promised myself I wouldn't start trying until I'd lost the baby weight from Summer and was fighting fit! Plus an engagement ring thrown in wouldn't hurt proceedings

ha ha - I forgot about that reason so three selfish ones- lose weight as well!!
well there you go when DP says that Summer needs a baby bro/sis you know what to say!

His 2 and 4 month shots were to-the-day.

congrats on the 6month half birthday, and as long as you get the injections soon it won't matter.

SMO3 and Flick - :hugs: re sleeping

Morning all

Jeez smo3 i was thinking i was sleep deprived but until i read your post i now feel bad complaining about hunter waking a few times. Where do you fit in your sleep?

Not sure if any of you have them up in your house yet but is anyone using any saftey gates i must go buy some now he has finally realised there is more to our house than just the lounge room.

re babies who arent crawling yet i wish we were in the same boat i was hoping hunter would stay just rolling around in one spot i dont want him to grow up to quickly :hissy: He is most probably our last and i was hoping he could stay a baby until he was 5

Must go get dressed been up for over 4hrs you would think i would of found time to already or mebe im just to lazy.

Have a great day everyone the weather is great here a beautiful 23.

SMO3 -does he wake up at the same time every night, like out of habit? 1 thing I read in the Baby Whisperer is if they wake up at say 3am every night, you wake them up at 2am & then resettle just to break the habit. Have never tried it though, so not sure if it works. Is there anyone that can watch the kids for a bit during the day so you can have a nap?

Tiggles, love the new name.

I tried Chais on chunky food last night. I got him the 7-9 months pasta bolognaise one. He pulled a few faces at the chunky pieces, but ate it well. I also got him a large jar of 6mth + fruit muesli for brekky & he ate the whole jar!!!! Little piggy

Well the washing has just finished so I'd better get off & go & do some work.

Have to get to bed, but what is this mesh food thing you've all been talking about?

I got mine from woolies. It's tommee tippee and sort of like a dummy but the end is mesh, just pop fruit or whatever in there to munch on and the holes so small that what gets through they won't choke on. Summer didn't manage to even dent her piece of fruit though.

aww k8y wish i had the magic bottle answer. i never had so much trouble with the other 2. he wont even try just screams his head off. then when he finally gets the boob he kinda does this little chuckly/laugh thing and latches on like a pirranah (sp?). i have let him scream histerically for up to half an hour when im feeling particularly stubborn about it but i never win. he either goes to sleep and is up in 30 mins to try again or i give in cause i feel like the worst mother in the world. dh is just like let him scream he will have to take it but ijust feel so bad. i try him every 2nd feed. tried the cup the pram someone else doing it etc dont know really what to do except keep trying

Well today we're trialling (my idea) 'happy times' with bottle.
Lay her down on the floor where she is happy after a feed, put about 10ml EBM in the bottle and let her have a bit of play with it while she's happy, sticking it in and out of her mouth, have a brief chew, she even managed a brief suck but nothing major as not hungry. Then I put the bottle away while she was still happy and will do it again after her next feed..... I have no idea how it will go but at least it's less stressful on all of us.

i think we have a few probs going a once
1. he has been teething for like 2 months i think he is cutting the eye teeth first poor kid
2. he has a cold every 2nd week, the joys of having a big bro who is a preschooler
so thats his excuses done but they are good ones
3. he does not self settle very well at all and loves a comfort feed
4.he rolls in his sleep then gets stuck in an weird position and cries till i help him
so all that and i really think he just is a person who doesnt need a lot of sleep as he never seems very tired and cranky... well.. except for now he is whinging as i speak:rolleyes:

Just a thought but now that they are 6 months old they don't need as much milk as they get most of thir food from solids. This might resolve your problem.

Michael just had his dosage increased as he started throwing up again. The medication is apparently weight based so each time he puts on weight we need to readjust it.

afternoon all,

SMO3- you poor thing, thats an awful routine when you have other children to get up to. The only thing i thought when i ready that is that he is having alot of short naps during the day. Maybe you should try and keep him up a bit longer between naps in the hope he will have longer ones. goodluck, i hope that he started sleeping for you.

BB- well done on the weight loss. I have been kinda watching what i'm eating and doing more excersize lately. I don't want to feel huge when we go on holidays in feb. So anyway got on the scales last night and am down to 64kgs. I'm so happy. I should have a look and see what a healthy weight for a female my hight is, not exactly sure what my goal should be. Maybe just till i feel good.

I bought a safety gate from bunnings and haven't had any troubles with it.

well as i think everyone knows i was waiting waiting for my sister to have her baby. Well little Lachlan (not so little at 4.3kgs) was finally born yesterday after a very fast 3 hour labour. unfortunately it was not without it's problems as i was hoping for her. Bub had his hand up at his head so they had to do a cut and she said it was so painfull as it was so fast.

Seeing my new nephew yestrday made me very clucky again. Dh said he is happy to have a 3rd just a little further down the track, say 5 years or so. With one exception, i haemoraged straight after birth and lost alot of blood and he wants me to ask the docs why and whether it's likely to happen again. He said i was in a very bad way (i don't really remember) C38? any info?

Well done on the 6hrs :fingerscrossed: it is a regular occurrance.

We use omo sensitive and that seems to get out all of our food stains. Sometimes i have to chuck in a little Vanish Nappysan seems to do the trick :)

BB A huge congrats on the huge weightloss you are truely inspiring me to get a move on with my own WELLDONE!!!:yelclap:

Thats a total loss of 17.3 KGS!!!!!!! :smiliedance:

That's fantastic!!!!!! Well done.

Michael just had his dosage increased as he started throwing up again. The medication is apparently weight based so each time he puts on weight we need to readjust it.

How much is he on now?

With one exception, i haemoraged straight after birth and lost alot of blood and he wants me to ask the docs why and whether it's likely to happen again.

Congrats to your sister.

I haemorraged with Dakotah & needed a
blood transfusion & was also in a pretty bad way, but had no probs with my next two.

Well done on keeping up SMO3

Question for those cooking their bubs solids:

How do you cook their meat? say chicken, do you still just steam it and puree it
I have annabel karmels top 100 purees book, I should really just go and read it

Summer is still on just one meal per day and even then it's a struggle to get her to eat it. She is taking to it very slowly but am not concerned at this stage. God knows everything with her has to be an effort

Oh and DP is the one that feeds her and is constantly getting food on her clothes. Any hot tips on getting out carrot and pumpklin stains

I am just going to grill/panfry my chicken & then put it in the blender, also with Jake I pan fried it (sounds bad but NO oil was added) just olive oil spray, you can then start to add a little onion & garlic

it was due to a torn uterine artery rupturing 7days after my emerg c-section,what I would do is request your medical records as I did then you will know exactly what went wrong etc, also have a de-brief with a Gyno/OB.

LOST 1 KILO THIS WEEK :yelclap:Im glad as I had been over due to xmas etc........then tomorrow new yrs eve having a quiet bbq @ our place with just a couple of friends......so I will hit the champs.

Thats a total loss of 17.3 KGS!!!!!!! :smiliedance:
I do feel better & fitting some bigger size 10's now,but I still have 7kgs to go to my first goal of 60kgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then my big goal is 55kgs:goodvibes:

Wow, the weightloss is fantastic!!
Sounds like you had a very scary time with first bub.. you are so brave going back for more.

Re my new name Tiggles, its one of our cats nick names. She is the only pedigree Ive ever owned, she is a Maine Coone, paid just under $1000 for her 7 years ago, when there was only 6 breeders in Oz. She is a runt (but didnt pay for a runt), but I love her to bits. Her "Show Name" Is Cool Coones (name of breeder) Sweet Charity. We called her Tiggie, but DH has heaps of nick names for her Tiggles, Tiggly Wigs, Stinky Witz (due to the odour when she uses they litter tray), Stinker cat, and Brain Dead (she is sooo pretty, but not too bright, lol).

So I used a name from a very pretty little girl who smells, lol!

hello Mums!

BB - Awesome effort with the weight loss! Especially over the silly season

K8y - Love the sound of happy times with bottle, it makes a lot of sense. :fingerscrossed: Summer gets used to it soon

SMO3 - Well done to Dylan having a big sleep last night! So glad to hear it, I felt exhausted reading his routine. Hope he keeps it up for you.

4.he rolls in his sleep then gets stuck in an weird position and cries till i help him

This sounds very very familiar! Little monkeys! Sigh, gotta love 'em:goodvibes:

Any hot tips on getting out carrot and pumpklin stains

I use Preen Vanish and wash straight away. A little bit of pumpkin and carrot goes a long way doesnt it!:rolleyes:

C&Lmummy - Congratulations on the arrival of your nephew! Big bouncing bubba!:goodvibes:

Well, not much news here today. Liam had a great sleep last night 8.30-5.30 then feed then 6-8.30! Thats 3 nights in a row hes slept well. Hopefully it will continue

i was also wondering about adding meat to babies food. At the moment, Im just using the cans of food with meat in them. Ive also got a jar of the baby pasta bolognaise there to try on Liam one day. Tried chocolate custard at Christmas, was prepared for him to be bouncing off the walls, but he wasnt bad at all......the poos the next day on the other hand!

Well, obviously rambling on so I will go. I wish all Mums and bubs a peaceful night. Take care all:flowerz:

Hey girls,

Tell you what, I typed a massive post last night, then the computer cracked the sh!ts and I lost it all. And at that precise moment Khirra woke, so I gave up, lol.

So will type what I remember!

K8y - don't stress about Summer not crawling - she's perfectly normal.... and a whole month younger than a few on the bubs here! Just remember, it's not like we're going to have 18 year olds laying around kicking on the floor; in the end it's all irrelevant. :hugs: I say enjoy her while she's not moving - I'd give anything to tie Kiz down at times now, lol. And I think what you're doing with the bottle is a fantastic idea - hope it works hun!

SMO3 - glad Dylan had a good night for you! Far out, I don't know how you do it. I worry about having 4 kids like DP wants to... I don't think I can function on that little sleep!

BB - that weightloss is amazing! You are amazing! Far out, they should nominate you for those WW awards :yelclap:
:hugs:for the terrible threes... Working in CC, and with the 2year olds, I dreaded the end of year coming around, as they got closer to 3. They just turned into defiant little monste...darlings, lol, with serious attitude. Gee, I can't wait til Khirra gets to that age.

Flick - Your girls are just gorgeous :goodvibes:

OConky - I second your  about more kids! lol. DP wanted to start in March.... oh my gosh, I can't imagine only having 3months until being preggers again... but thankfully I'm getting the cervical cancer vaccine while it's still free, so have until June.... then we're "on the pump" again, and DP so eloquently puts it. lol. How soon are you thinking??

Kotakai - 12 weeks already. That's crazy! How did your scan go? Wasn't that just before christmas??

Oops, little miss is awake. Will try to get on in the morning.

How did "happy time" with the bottle go?

I had to be cut with Nick b/c he was posterior and couldn't get through the last little part of the birthing canal. 45 minutes and god-knows-how-many stitches later...I couldn't sit for about 2 weeks. Sounds like requesting medical records could be a good idea...see if it details what happened.

I hemorrhaged so bad with DS1 I nearly died

That is scary BB! A friend of mine almost bled out. The DR came out of the ER covered head to toe in blood and told her DH that she'd lost a lot of blood and they would have to see how she went over night!! He said it was like the whole world went dead quiet and he was the only person in the hospital.

Nicklas, too, gets himself in all weird positions in his cot and wakes himself up. And when I put him down and try to get him to just "fall" asleep, he ends up with all 4 limbs outside the cot through the slats and his head up against the slats.

:fingerscrossed: Nick sleeps well again tonight. He has slept pretty good 3 nights in a row now. Last time I said that I jinxed myself and we had an awful night. We'll see if this has landed me the same fate!

Think we're going to head to the beach tomorrow night for early fireworks and "family entertainment". supposed to start at 6 with fireworks at 8, but not sure who will conk out first, me or Nick! Also not sure about him and fireworks, but then he isn't phased by the thunder, and we've had quite a bit of that lately! The main thing I'm worried about is his schedule getting disrupted.

What's everyone else doing for the new year?

Evening :ecomcity:ers

BB I am so in awe of your weight loss.:yelclap:
I recon Ive put 2kg of the 1kg I lost lately back on. ...:( Haven't really eaten a lotof fattening food as such, I think it's more that I haven't had time for my usual walks, plus YOGA and weekly Physio classes have finished.
I'm still about 16kg bigger then I want to be. Keep catching view of myself in windows as I walk along, and wondering who the fat lady is with MY pram:o {in the windows as I was walking back to the car from my second afternoon at the TASTE}

K8Y.. "funtimes with bottle" sounds like a good idea..... :fingerscrossed:

C&Ls mum: There are many reasons why a post partum haemorrhage may have occurred. These can include, prolonged labour, large baby or large amount of amniotic fluid, tear in umbilical cord up near placenta, early partial separation of placenta, tear in cervix, large tear of perineum and or vagina, tear of varicose vein at anus or in vagina... Sometimes the actual reason is not 100% clear as it's something internal that works itself out. The likelyhood of a second one would obviously depend upon the cause of the first. Though I'd say for most causes the likely hood of reaccurance is low. As other havesuggested it might be a good idea to havean appointment with your gynae to disuss it. Or if you went publically you could ask to see your medical records.. thought the best way to do it is to ring teh maternity dept an d ask if they can have a midwife or Obs doctor debrief with you and your hubby....as then they can interrpret the notes for you.

Tiggles willbe thinking of you tomorrow.
Can you slip some valium or something in her tea....so she goes to bed and you dont hear from her:laughing:

Keep nodding off..so Im off to bed...

Morning all,
Im so happy its new years eve, cant wait for 2009. Apart form Kara being born its been a very hard year.
C&L'sMUM - congrats on your nephew. 3hrs wow! thats why im worried about having another one, apart from getting OC again plus it was a horrible pregnancy the total opposite to DD1, but my labours were natural 4hrs, induced 3.5hrs.
We want one more, DF is ready for one now, but im not sure when to try.

Kara only woke up once last night, I took her for a swin then gav her a bath before bed so hopefully i tired her out.

For NY's we are going around to DF's mates house, (just been told the IL's might be there to) he has a great view of the city, so we will have a swim they have a water slide to, have some drinks on the balcany and watch the fireworks. His mate said if i dont show up, or the girl he likes doesnt show up, that they will be going to se some strippers. DF said he doesnt really want to go, but he wont let his mate go alone. not sure if thats the truth or not.

Thanks everyone who said my girls are gorgeous.

BB - congrats on the weight loss.

Morning,

Thanks for all the info i do have my brith report but they were unsure as to why it happened. I did ask my midwife but she couldn't tell me the reason. Sounds like it happens quite frequently.
The other thing that there was NO info on was that my placenta was unhealthy. I have no idea what that meant, whether it had started to die or what. I guess this could have been the cause?

Something else i've been thinking bout which someone might know the answer to. With dd1 i had an epidural but as soon as i was 10cm they wanted me to start pushing and then she wasn't coming fast enough so decided to cut and use forceps to get her out. With dd2 i also had an epidural BUT i was not even checked to see when i was 10cms. Midwife said we will just let her slowly come down the birth canal on her own so when she said to push we could already feel her head just there. Why would they have done 2 completely different ways? The only thing i can think of is that dd1's birth was getting close to 24hours which is when the cut off is for a cs.

Ouch babywez, that sounds awful. Birth is really not a nice experience is it. I had the works with dd1, all the intervention that ended in an awful experience.

tiggles, i hope the inlaws arn't to awful this time.

Well i hope everyone has a fantastic new years eve. I think we are going into melb city for the family entertainment and then fireworks at 9pm. Then well see if i can stay awake till midnight, i haven't seen midnight probably since last new years eve.

How much is he on now?

I have put him on the liquid now as it's much easier and less time consuming. Not sure how I will take it on the plane or pack it in the back but we'll see. He's on 2.5mg in the am and 5 in the pm. The peadiatrician said he's on a higher than recommended dose because he's over 9 kilos but looks like Chais is on a higher dose.

k8y - c38 is right! We tried giving Elliot a bottle every day for a month and he wouldn't have a bar of it. Then, when I go into hospital, he just opens his mouth up for Daddy and Nanny and drinks from the darn thing! Summer is not silly. She knows that if she doesn't drink from it, you will oblige by BFing her. :hugs: She'll do it when you're not around! I promise!

Has anyone else seen Practical Parenting mag for Jan? There's a few of us quoted in there in the article about what the first 3 months is REAAALLY like. I made a silly grammatical error which bugs me, but I am otherwise rather excited!

Have had a quick scan through but can't remember much for personals. Hm. Mum has a walker at her house where I am now and El is zooming around in it so i'm trying to keep an eye on him and type at the same time. He is chasing the dogs, currently, bless his cotton socks. (and yes.. bad mummy for letting bubs in a walker but it's only for 5 mins!)

Spoke to DPs mum and her and her partner are going to give us some money for a wedding present to go towards a holiday/honeymoon so we are really excited. We've decided to go to Airlie Beach (whitsundays) cause we can stay longer than if we go overseas and spend about the same amount of money.

Now where did that baby go.....

The Dr rang this morning re the path results, poor little chook has Salmanella (sp??). So has antibiotics to clear it up.

Dr says unusual to see in bubs, as normally adults/kids get it from reheating meat etc and nasty food in bay maries (another spello..) that isnt heated to the correct temp.

Im very padantic re her bottles re cleanliness and steralising. But the Dr says she may have picked it up from another bub at CC, but the Dr didnt say how it was passed on from one kidlet to another. C38, can you shed some light?

As we had no plans as the outlaws were meant to be here, we are now going down to the neighbours for a quiet drink, its so hot here, too hot to drink a chardy (bugger!!!) so beer it will be.

Hey girls,

Just a quicky to say Happy New Year. We're doing absolutely bugger all.... we sure know how to have a good time :rolleyes: Be lucky to make it to midnight, I think! lol

Tiggles - I feel for you with the outlaws hun. :hugs: Mine may be staying for a week when they come back from visiting DP's sisters in Darwin and Cairns. Sigh. But nothing like yours - they adore Khirra at least. I wouldn't worry about cleaning again - if she's going to b!tch and moan anyway, give her something to moan about :p Or just use C38's idea, lol.

Lambkin - I'll have to buy the mag - I wanna see!! :yelclap: Have you made your SS pressie at all? :D

Flick - I've tried Khirra on Weetbix, but she really wasn't keen. I just added a bit of formula, or a little cow's milk. But she just wasn't interested, so she usually has natural yoghurt with pureed fruit or some fruit with some avo on toast... and she scoffs that... lol, I'm weak and don't want the battle, lol.

BB - You will look AMAZING by March. You'll have to post piccies when you reach your goal!

Alright, well, I might go fool myself and write a couple of new years resolutions down, lol. My main resolution, as meger as it sounds, is to drink more water.... because I'm terrible. I'm surprise my body hasn't shriveled up.

Oh, just and because I'm bored, here's a couple of videos of Kiz laughing her head off with DP in the pool, and one of her a few weeks ago crawling after the dogs on the deck (my mum in the video too)

Ems - what great vids! I love the one of Khirra and the dogs. DD and Bella (our dog) are getting to like each other now too. DD laughs as soon as she sees Bella and giggles her head off when Bella licks her. Poor Bella is going to be harrassed as soon as DD can crawl I'm sure:laughing:

Tiggles - you need a big shiny medal for putting up with your outlaws.

Birthingbeauty - you have done so well with that weight loss:yelclap:

Chaiseandlarasmummy - I lost a heap of blood with DD too - and they spent 1 and a half hours stitching me up. Then one of the midwifes asked if I wanted a de-brief before I was discharged and I said no - didn't want to think about it leave alone talk about it. But I wish I had now - going to go private next time (if there is a next time) but will ask for my notes to see what happened.

Well I'm very pleased with my day today. OH went into work for a couple of hours so I walked the dog and baby at 7.30 before it got too hot (37 in Perth today). Then I vacumned the whole house, steamed mopped, cleaned the bathrooms (3 of the bloody things!) and did a load of washing. Then this arvo we went to Toysrus. I've been researching strollers to take away on our hols with us to the UK. Didn't want to take my strider as I don't want it damaged. Had my eye on the Quicksmart easy fold stroller but they are so hard to come by. Managed to find one for $199 but wanted to go and check it out and it was miles from where we live. Then had the Toysrus catalogue today and saw them in there on sale for $139 (starting Friday). So took my OH along with me to check them out and see how easy it was to open and fold (I'm such a procrastinator I needed someone else to tell me if it was any good!) Asked them how many were in stock - only 3!! So the blokey sold it to us today for the sale price that doesn't start till Friday - result! Means I don't have to drag DD out in this heat on Friday to fight for one of 3 strollers, and I can tick one thing of my 'to do' list:D

Not doing anything tonight - I doubt very much whether either of us will see 10pm leave alone midnight:p So happy new year to you all. I'm not sure how next year will top the year just gone though:D

I went to bed at 9:30 and was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, I think.

I'm feeling a bit weird about this new year. New Years tend to signify new beginnings and new hope. 2008 was so great, I don't really want a new start! But now I'm just overthinking things :) Its just another day, right?

So bloody hot here the last couple of days. No rain to bring any relief. Supposed to be 31 today. Just heard going to be 15 in Hobart...might pack up and head to the airport!

Its is cold today in Hobart.....they even said mountain snow:eek:.......where is the summer gone.

Yes its just another day to me:yes:

Hi everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR:smiliedance:

2009! Sounds weird doesnt it!

Ems - loved the vids, so cute hearing Khirra giggling and squealing in the pool - I cannot get enough of the sound of giggling babies!

Tiggles - Big:hugs: and all the best for you and your outlaws. I agree with the others - hope you didnt clean the house again. You know where we are when you need to vent hun!

Well we did nothing for New Year, just had a couple of quiet drinks (seemed to go straight to my head:rolleyes:) and watched The Full Monty on TV for the upteenth time. Liam woke up twice during the night so both DH and I are feeling a bit ordinary today! Might go for a walk later if the weather clears up. Its grey and drizzly here today.

Didnt make any New Year resolutions. I never seem to stick to them anyways....

Have a great day everyone and as always take care:flowerz:

Hi all
I had a great New Years Eve, went to a friends house and did lots of dancing and singing ourselves silly (ABBA Singstar...beaten by everyone ..incl an 8yr old:o). Another family brought some fireworks...so we had fountains and sparklers on the front lawn, while watching the uhmm slightly bigger, display in the caty across the water. Gabriel was good, gooed and gaahed and lapped up attention until finally sucoming to sleep at 930....and stayed that way until I picked him up at 030am. He fed when we got home then slept until 4 then until 830.. so usual night for him really...
The other baby there was miserable with a nasty nasty cold..lots of snotty and miserabliness.. so hopfully Gabe doesnt get it..

CUTE videos Ems. I love the one with her after the dogs...

Tiggles.. :hugs: Poor little Miss C. Salmonella is a nasty one. I think you should warn your Inlaws and they should GO HOME as it's contagious and like most of these things effects the very young or the old and frail the worst.
It' spread by contact with raw meat ...mostly poultry or beef or raw eggs. Also by contact with infeted faeces (like any Gastro). Hence washing hands is important. I seen a few bubs with it. One last year was really sick with meningitis.
It can hang around in the gut for weeks... the dirhoea coming and going. And it doesn't always show up in tests...( so she may of even had it for a while) Officially you need to have three clear tests before they say you are totally cleared.
Often its unknown how they got it, and others in the family are fine or may have had a mild illness that was barely noticed. (hmm didnt your older girl have tummy pains for a day or so) But it can be easily done... cutting up meat for tea.. bubs crys you rush over and stuff their dummy in with unwashed hands... Letting kids lick the bowel/beaters of cake mix with raw egg in it.

Here (and Id imagine up there ) it's a Reportable Disease ... meaning the lab that tested the poo and or the GP has to report it to the local Health Dept. Here they usually come out and ask you a series of questions and sometimes take some swabs of your fridge, kitchen etc. They would also check out the CC and often Resturants youve recently eaten at. So be prepared that you may have someone turing up to ask questions. They arent doing it to point a finger at you, more to try and sus where it came from so they can help contain the spread.
Tell the In Laws it in their health interests to LEAVE:D

Hey girls,

Just a quicky to say Happy New Year. We're doing absolutely bugger all.... we sure know how to have a good time  Be lucky to make it to midnight, I think!

Happy New Years Everyone...hope this year is as good as 2008....

well we had a good NY went to one of the mum's groups' places for a BBQ, Pip though would not settle only sleeping for 1/2 hour at a time- I think cause she sleeps on her tummy now and she couldn't in her pram, so ended up leaving at 11.30, had another drink at home and cheered in the NY and went to bed. Pip went straight to sleep when we got home, stirred about 6, but woke up at 8.30...what an angel given it was 12.30 before bed.

today we went around the bay with the same group of people as they have a boat and I tried wakeboarding for the first time and did pretty well, took Pip in the lake splashing about as well, so we are all pretty tired here, in fact 2/3 of us are asleep.

tiggles sorry to hear about Miss C...I agree with C38.

ems love the photos...chasing the dogs....

anyway going to have a snooze before making dinner...would love to get take away but soo much food in the house don't want to waste it.

Happy New Years Ladies

Haven't been on because am suffering the past couple of days with the 'can't be bothereds'. My house is such a mess  and have been in my jimmy jam pants and singlet top ALL day lol.

On a lighter note am back on WW. The first day is so hard :crying: I woke up and kept thinking I'll start tomorrow, start tomorrow, but .... I hung in there by the tips of my fingers.

New years eve, came home from neighbours early, laid in bed watching Prison Break (it's so stupid now) and fell asleep before midnight. DP said I rolled over around 11.30pm with sheet crease marks in my face, hair sticking up everywhere and drool down my cheek telling him to turn the bl00dy tv off but I don't remember it. He was asleep too lol. Oh the joys.

ems Khirra is just the cutest bub, loved watching your vids.

tiggles, a minor reprieve for you. Don't think they deserve you doing an extra clean of the house for them.

Oh and I've put weight back on from all the 'holiday' eating :o I think it's from knowing I was going to go back on WW so probably stuffed myself more then usual knowing I wouldn't be able to eat like this in the new year.

Anyway, I also watched my fit ball dvd and did the toning exercises and my thighs and abs seem hardest hit at the moment, but I'm going to have abs of steel, the exercises were great. I could feel myself toning up and they were easy to do and also relaxing as well as the lady on the dvd did them by this running stream and manicured garden with pipe music etc...tomorrow will be cardio! (should have done cardio today too but that fell under my 'can't be bothered' attack).

Sorry for blathering on :ecomcity:

Oh forgot to say. DP told me today he would like to propose early this year but won't say when as he wants it to be a surprise and he's got a few 'ideas' up his sleeve. He also said he wants to go ring shopping after as he knows what a fussy twit I am and wants the ring to be perfect. I must confess, I've been online today looking at tiffany and hardy brothers lol as am so excited. YAY am going to get my ROCK :smiliedance:
I am not telling close friends or family as I want to surprise them too after we get the ring, but I thought at least I can share it with you all.

How exciting K8Y!!! I remember when my husband proposed...a couple of months earlier he had told me that it would be "at least 6 more months" and said that proposing on Valentine's Day was cheesey. So when he gave me diamond earrings the day before V'day in 2005, I was completely shocked when he got down on one knee and proposed! Mind you, he proposed with a $10 plastic ring so I could pick my own. Sometimes I wish we'd gone shopping so he knew what I want and had proposed with it, but we got to go to a wholesaler and get our rings, so it probably worked out for the best anyway! He said he had the ring in his pocket at dinner, but was too nervous. I didn't even notice! In any case, very exciting for you! I would love to do it all over again!

Semi-related, my sister got all bummed last night bc she doesn't feel like her life is going anywhere. Her DP said, "Maybe you'll get married in 2009" which is kind of a cr@ppy thing for him to say, since he's already said he wants to have a job before he proposes and they get married (he's told her and my DH that) and he's got 3 more years of uni left! And they live with his parents...he wants to be in their own place first. Poor girl, trying to not get her hopes up, but why would he say something like that!?

Not much going on here today. Put Christmas away, went to BigW and got a couple of things for Nick, plus some more food cubes! Made some baby food, cleaned house...have had the AC on all day. Soooo hot. Did some laundry...all in all a productive January 1!

DH took tomorrow off and we have Nick's 6 month shots at 11. Hopefully that goes ok. :fingerscrossed:

Now I am :ecomcity:ing. Gonna have to have some apple pie, b/c I would hate it to go to waste. And once we have these last pieces, its all gone and no more cr@p!

Tiggles I forgot to say.. Miss C should be fine, now you know what it is and have started antibiotics:yes: Its highly possible her sister has or has had it too. I read somewhere today that some babies/ children can actually carry it in their system for several years... So I'm sorry but your IL will just HAVE to go home and stay away. If MIL is already incontinent...IMAGINE if she got salmonella....ew... Tell them and hopefully they will run home!!

K8Y that's SO exciting...

Many thanks C38 for the info, I really appreciate it.

Yep, I have to admit I have been preparing tea, Miss C is howling, so Ive quickly rinsed my hands and put the dummy back in..never occurred to me I could make her sick. And Yes My big girl and I have been baking a fair bit on the holidays and yep, she always licks the bowl. She said about a week before Xmas she had a bit of a sore tummy and passed loose stools for a couple of days, so I think you are right.

Well the IL left Toowoomba at 10am yesterday and arrived at our place at 5pm...260km drive, how it took that long, I dont know.

But, seriously it took over an hour to get the MIL out of the campervan (remember she cant walk due to arthritis), then she was too tired for dinner, took another hour or so for the FIL to give her a wash. So by the time she had a cup of tea and a wash, and getting her back to bed, then we start the bbq, we didnt eat till after 8.30. Miss C was ratty as, as she was so tired and hot.

God knows how today will go.

Morning girls,

K8y that's soooooooo EXCITING!!! :yelclap:
Just heads up... Diamond's International is having a 50% off sale at Chermside, or the city too I guess, at the moment.... I may have been wistfully looking around in there the other day...:o lol. Ohh, I can't wait to find out when/where he does it :D

Tiggles - Poor Miss C. Sounds terrible. Hopefully she's on the mend. And as for you... I dunno, if I were you, it sounds like I would have to carry around a little flask with some vodka in it or something to get through the day ;)

Babywez - good luck with Nick's shots. I hated getting Khirra's this time... having to pin them down. Yukky.

OConky - sounds like a great NY! Wow, wakeboarding. That's meant to be really hard to get up on, isn't it? No doubt I'd face plant straight into the water. lol

C38 - woohoo fireworks. Sounds like a fantastic NY! Gabe sounds like he was an angel.

Kyles - hehe, I agree, there's nothing better than the sound of babies giggling. :goodvibes: When I was working in CC, there was one particular little boy, Seamus, who just had the most fantastic laugh. At nappy changes I'd tickle him under his chin and behind his ears (where he was particularly ticklish) just to hear him laugh, because it was seriously the most beautiful, infectious laugh ever. Would bring tears to my eyes! lol

BB - sounds like you had a great NY too. Cleaning up before you went to bed, crazy girl! Although I'm a bit the same... nothing worse then walking out to a sink and bench full of plates and wineglasses.

Thanks for the lovely comments re: the videos... just thought I'd share cos they make me laugh, lol. Although, I am biased, I know.

In our news... Khirra and I got up this morning and I popped her on the rug to have a crawl and play, while I went over to the sink to make her a bottle. I looked over and there is her head bobbing up and down on the other side of the lounge. She'd pulled herself up and was hopping/walking herself along it. (trying to reach the Nurofen bottle I'd left on the couch from 4am this morning - bad mummy ) I couldn't believe it. She's been standing up holding onto chairs and the coffee tables, but the couch seats are up high - I have no idea how she pulled herself up there. Then the fact she was actually moving along... will get a video when she does it next.

Our babies are growing up far too quick.

Have a good day girls. I have a mate coming round who is down from Emerald, so will be great to see her - she hasn't seen Kiz yet either, so will be nice.

lol, I wouldn't say 'advanced', it's just that this child just won't. stop. moving. I think she'd be driving herself mad if she wasn't able to move the way she is.... but I seriously wish I'd had a bit longer of having her stationary. lol. People keep saying to me 'you're going to have your hands full when she's a toddler', but deadset, she's flat-out now. Just has to know what's going on... think she gets it from her Aunty  My sister is a bit non-stop too... and a Gemini baby... hmmn. :p

Babywes - that glass of wine sounds like an idea. Might grab one and start folding washing... have Khirra trapped in her activity centre at the moment so I can sit still :o

BB - hope Casey feels a bit more settled tonight. Kiz has been so grumbly today but just won't sleep. Think it's to do with the heat... might have to come down to Hobart!!

BB hope Casey sleeps better for you tonight. snow in hobart for you and c38...gosh!

k8y how exciting:D hope he does it early in the year so does not keep us all in suspense, it is a lovely time...whenever we are in Melbourne we go to the restaurant where DH proposed..love it!!

well not much happened here today just a quiet one doing household stuff, DH back down to Sydney for work, but am going down tomorrow and the ILs will be away so will have the place to ourselves:yelclap: wasn't planning to but have to take advantage of these things. Pip was a bit off her food tonight but then I realised there was a massive poo so think that was distracting her.

for those of you FF have you reduced the amount since they have been getting solids, just curious?

well done k8y for going back onto WW so quickly, my start date is monday, given my crappy eating habits the last 2 days and the cornettos in the fridge courtesy of DH , I figured we'll enjoy the weekend before I start being a food nazi! I am still going for walks regularly, but need to get back into the gym next week as well. football starts again next week which will be a good motivator!

hope you are all well and :fingerscrossed: for a good nights sleep for all.

Hi all

All Ive done is washed up 4 times, made cups of tea, lunch, dinner, cups of tea......Ive been up since 5am and havent stopped.

Very P!ssed off, DD1 tried to show her grand mother (doesnt deserve the name) some pics of DD2 when the old girl said "Im busy watching the news" Christ she is a b!tch, DD1 heart sank..

About to have a shower, pour a huge vino and hopefully crach, what a sh!!!tty 24 hours.

Thanks for listening.

Clever khirra :yelclap:

BB I think gold. I love the white gold and platinum, but gold suits my skintones better. I love the pear shape cut and the princess cut. There is a ring on the tiffany website called 'tiffany novo' in the engagement rings section. Thats my absolute FAVE. I would like one made to look like that, only at a fraction of the cost as that one is.....$55k lol.....I have expensive taste :o but don't we all? :D

ems thanks I mentioned to DP that diamonds international are having a sale lol I looked on their web but couldn't see anything catching my eye, obviously they would have a lot more in store though.

Am still suffering through my I can't bothereds phase.....

Question for anyone who is still exclusively BF:
Has anyone bled yet?
I started today and I don't know if thats abnormal, normal, nothing to worry about, something to worry about i.e. will my milk dry up?
Might explain why I was so hungry at lunchtime today I felt light headed and I'd had honey toast and a banana for breakie so thought going back on the diet was going to do me in for sure lol

Mmmm wine babywez. Enjoy your movie, it's long but it's good!

oconky Monday is always a good day to start. It sounds like you're pretty active anyway. I have to work so hard at getting back into the swing of exercise, once it's regular I'm fine though.

Well Summer is in childcare on Tuesday and still no bottle action. Am very stressed...

MOS we miss you :crying:

Summer is in bed now and just ate my dinner (WW meal as DP is out) and am going to lay in bed and read my Who mag.

Well I've googled re AF and it all seems rather normal. It relates to my particular situation I think as it's now been 6 months and Summer the past 4 nights has started sleeping through again.
Also she has been a bit off the boob today, so this would explain why.

What a drag to have them back
Oh this could explain my attack of the can't be bothereds too. Can blame everything on AF :D

hi all!

K8y - sooooo excited for you hun! We will all be on the edge of our seats waiting for the big proposal!!

Ems - OMG look at Khirra go! Such a cutie. :goodvibes:Liam is so far off pulling himself up. He pats the couch and looks up at it - he knows hes meant to do "something" but is nowhere near that stage yet, still not quite crawling.

Tiggles - Hope those antibiotics have started to kick in for Miss C. As for those people staying with you - well, they are making my blood boil! I dont know what to say, so am sending you huge :hugs:.

Babywez - Hope Nick was a brave little soldier with the needles.

C38 and BB - sending you both some :hugs: to warm you up!! The weathers not that great in Vic either. Im in two minds about it. On one hand: where the hell has summer gone? On the other hand, Im glad its not too warm while Liam is still so young

C38 - I go back to work after Easter too. Have had some mad thoughts about getting organised also, but its all just too hard so Im ignoring it too!

BB - Hoping Casey sleeps well for you tonight.

Not much news here. Liams new year resolution must be to wake up every couple of hours:rolleyes:...we were almost there....never mind! Im trying to find him a nice sunhat. Have seen cute ones which are MILES too big, cant seem to find a nice one for babies. Hes got one which has elastic under the chin, but his face is sooo chubby that its starting to cut in! Saw some gorgeous denim caps in Pumpkin Patch. Might have to take him with me next week to try them on:D

Wishing you all a settled night, and hoping the weather adjusts for you to a comfortable temperature wherever you are! Take care:flowerz:

No AF here..but then Gabriel not even looking like sleeping though...so:fingerscrossed: not for a while.

K8y just looking at those rings...if you drop to a 1carot then it's ONLY 19K

I have one I had made similar to their "etoile" style in gold.. It's in my cupboard somewhere (loong story)... never knew thats what the style was. Now I'd go for something completely different.. Wnite or platinum for starters though with other golds in the design..Im really into the mix of white/rose and white.. currently.. Scary to think you chose something that in 20 years you dont really like anymore... Though I guess if we were still together, Id love it for the sentiment:rolleyes:

Tiggles:hugs: How long are they staying??

Ems shes SO cute..but then you know that:laughing:
At 4 months I thought Gabriel would probably be crawling by now.. but he's no further advanced. Very happy to be on his tummy playing...tuning in circles to get at things, bit of comando but mostly backwards still. Just as well as his slacko mummy still hasnt done a lot of baby proofing.:p

So jealous that its warm enough for her not to need cothes. SO sick of changing Gabe, between mini spews and his experimenting with solids, Im growing tired of scrubbing stuff. I didnt buy a lot of long sleeve stuff in this size as its supposed to be Summer..and its hard to buy much thats long sleeve at the moment. Though just noticing today it wont be long and he will be into some of his size 0, in particular with grow suits.. I swear hes grown a cm or two just this week. Will get him measured etc in a couple of weeks once he's 6mths.

Morning all

The outlaws are meant to leave on Monday, but arrived 2 days late, so not sure when they are leave. But we have DHs nephew arriving on Monday for a week (he is a sweetheart and DD1 looooves him to death!), so we are looking forward to the visit. SO they need to go on Monday as we have no other beds.

Now as for their arrival...

They get here at 5pm, it takes 1.5 hours to get her out of the campervan, having to put the wheel chair together, the ramp and the stairs for the campervan.

Then she wants a cup of tea, that takes her 1/2 to drink, then 1/2 later, she is too tired for dinner (bbq yet to be cooked), so she wants a sandwich. So another 1/2 hour passes. Then she is too tired and wants to go to bed, but wants a wash first, this took the FIL another hour to get her into bed, so we basically started to cook tea at after 8.30, poor DD1 was so tired and cranky.

MY BIGGEST VENT...she is always brushing her flipping hair at the dinner table, when we are eating.....then leaves her filthy hairbrush on the dining table. This is the most gross habit, I have to get up and leave the table, otherwise I will explode.

I appreciate all of your kind words, I swear if I couldnt vent on here I would explode.

Miss C is getting better, still a some mucky nappies, but I think the antibiotics are starting to work.

Morning girls,

Well ended up watching Batman Begins last night, thinking I hadn't seen it, and I had! But that's ok, b/c I couldn't remember most of it, and it is the prequel to Dark Knight, so we will watch that today. We also rented The Polar Express as it was a weekly rental and we had a voucher for a free weekly. We get home and DH goes "I didn't use the voucher!" DUH.

Nicklas was a very brave boy for his shots yesterday. Let out a small, 10-second delayed reaction both times, but was laughing by the time we walked out to the waiting area.

K8Y I love the princess cut, too and that is what I have. DH spoiled me with my rings since we got them at half the RRP. My engagement ring is princess cut with 4 tiny princess cut diamonds on each side in the band then I have 2 channel set princess cut diamond bands. :D Its a bit OTT but I love them. I mentioned hocking them the other day, and he said absolutely not! They are white gold tho, and there is not a lot of white gold here that I've seen.

Weather is :rain: here today. At least it is cooler than it has been. The humidity prior to these big thunderstorms is unbearable. The only problem today is that we had planned for bestie and her DH to come for a bbq. I am pretty sure we've had 3 or 4 bbq's with them now, and it has rained each time! Might have to go get some lasagna stuff and garlic bread or something. Was so looking forward to my hamburger and sausage!

Had a very weird dream last night, about having twin sons and one of them being named Philip with the middle name Hildebrand.

Enough :ecomcity::ecomcity::ecomcity: from me. We have to call our friends in the States who are supposed to be getting us buddy passes from LAX to Atlanta, so hopefully it will be about $80 each instead of $400. :fingerscrossed:

k8y - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :smiliedance: OK so I'm back... thanks for missing me girls. Although I Must admit I've read far enough back to know you were considering placing bets on how long I'll be able to keep away for. So I missed the details k8y. Can you tell me how it all came about? Did he propose? How, etc? I have a princess cut diamond solitaire with a small diamond on each side and I still love it. Always will as it's from the man of my dreams... aaaahhhh.... :D I tried on a ring in Noosa when on holidays and the lovely man who owned the shop drew a pic of it for us and wrote down measurements of the claws, etc. So when we got back home, DH had it made by a friend of a friend and he bought the diamond through a diamond dealer. He didn't pay anywhere NEAR the amount of the evaluation. It just goes to show how much a retailer makes off those things.

More news: I stopped taking my pill while we were away. We have decided we want another Sam ASAP. We love it and are in a position to have a few kids close together and for me not to work. In the end, wherever we are, I don't want to work. I want to raise my children without leaving them with the MIL, etc. So we may aswell do it now while we're living here and saving. It may even keep me here for a while longer. I may appreciate the help with the next one... who knows?! And the longer we stay here, the better off we are in the future. We will have a bigger house rather than a TINY 2 bedroom unit and hence, more room for kiddies which is all I want.

Gotta say though, that AF still hasn't returned, so I'm not counting on things happening soon at all. Sam's slept through the night for quite a while but still feeding 5 or 6 times a day - PLUS 3 slid meals so not sure when to expect them... ?

Ummm... what else? Oh BB - WELL DONE!!! I can't believe you've lost that much weight. Your 55 kilo goal doesn't seem unrealistic at all.

Tiggles - love the new name and :hugs: about your cr@ppy new years... what pigs! Hair brush on the dinner table?!

Our holiday was WONDERFUL. Our friend had a toddler and she was soooo full on - always wanting to eat what I was eating, do what I was doing, etc. It seems I was the flavour of the month!

c38 -I have a couple of questions that you may be able to help with.

Chais is no where near sitting. When I was chatting with the other prem mum's, it seems most of them didn't sit till they were over 1 & most of them walked first. It seems they don't have the muscle strength. I'm just wondering why? Do you know?

Also, he has his commando crawling down pat now & can move pretty fast. Would dragging himself along be good for his tummy muscles?

mosac
03-01-2009, 10:32
Oh k8y I jumped to conclusions! Well it's still wonderful news. Let us know how you go with the ring shopping.

After kotakai's post I'm a little worried. Sam only just sits but topples forward within a minute. When I put him onto his tummy, he rolls onto his back. He can go both ways but he doesn't like his tummy so ends up on his back all the time and doesn't seem anywhere near crawling. I'm worried he's behind Chais who should be behind as he's prem. Am I being stupid? Is Chais an advanced premmy?

Kotakai, I think Chais is doing amazingly well with his commando crawl. Maybe it's an issue with balancing his head when sitting? Not calling him a big-head but you've mentioned that before...

I wouldn't be worried about Sam, all babies are different. Chais has only mastered this in the last week or so. Literally, it was like a light went on & he seemed to grow up over night.

I was just curious why prems have poor muscle tone.

Chais can't sit at all on his own. If you do it, he falls straight over. Could be his head I don't know.

Hi All

Miss C still cant sit by herself, and can only caterpiller crawl on her back, so Im not worried. DD1 didnt walk till she was about 16 months.

I can never go in to PP without buying something :D but they have lovely hats in there don't they.

c38 $19k is still soooooooooooooo much!!! Oh well, I've downloaded pics of all the ones I like in the hopes that we can just get it made a lot cheaper.
How cold is it really there?
DP chucked a wondersuit into the trolley when we went shopping yesterday. I said are you crazy, do you want to cook her? I went and put it back. We do have the air con thankfully, but she gets around in short sleeve onsies and 1.0 TOG grobrag.

tiggles your MIL is gross. Hope they leave on Monday for you like there original plans.

BB WW pizza mmmmm
I'm off to the movies today so I have to check the points on popcorn as I can't go to a movie without it!!!!
AF may also explain too, those extra kg's on the scales hopefully (i.e. bloating etc) as I usually show a bit bigger before AF. Also the extreme hunger and need for choc. Really, fancy starting back on WW on the day my AF returns for the first time in 16 months!
Good to hear your boys are eating well.
Still struggling with Summers food, it takes forever to get her to eat around 1.5 tbs. Might start her on breakfast in the next couple of days.
Re CC I don't start uni until start of March so it's not too desperate but the plan was to get stuck into reading and getting a headstart on all the work. I will take her in on Tues and Thurs and stay with her and see how they go with getting her on a bottle too.
By March for Perth, you will be gorgeous with your nice cut hair and sexy figure :goodvibes: Are you going to buy a new outfit?

babywez hildebrand??? LOL
Those flights sounds lovely and cheap. Hope you get them.
Gosh I still remember some of the dreams I had while PG they were that weird.
Your rings sound divine. Nothing wrong with OTT when it comes to diamonds on rings lol

MOS WELCOME BACK :smiliedance:
Not engaged yet, but DP has said he would like to propose early this year. So now I can have all of you hanging on your seats waiting for it along with me  He did say he wants us to shop for the ring after so I have been 'researching'! He said he has a few ideas up his sleeve so am very excited.
I've NEVER allowed myself to so much as look at a wedding dress in all my life until I was engaged so I had no clue as to what I like or would go with, but really, the whole type of wedding you have revolves around the dress right? lol
So for the first time ever I hopped online last night while DP was out and looked at dresses and I saw the dress that was ME. It's gorgeous. I won't send the link though because I think it's too soon to start wedding stuff with everyone, but it was SO MUCH FUN to look at them all and WHAT is with all the hideous bridesmaid dresses out there???
YAY how exciting your officially TTC!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!

Re Summer she is still no where near sitting. She gets on her tummy and kicks her arms and legs wildly to try and get somewhere but obviously she gets nowhere, gets completely frustrated and just cries for me to come turn her as she still can't work out how to get from her tummy onto her back again lol

Oh k8y I jumped to conclusions! Well it's still wonderful news. Let us know how you go with the ring shopping.

You posted this while I was still typing my mammoth post so I missed it.

I don't think any of us should worry. Dondons was on earlier saying the average age for bubs starting to crawl is 8 months old and that a few of the June bubbies seem quite advanced - particularly Khirra ems!!!!
Summer as I posted before still hasn't got the swing of getting from her tummy to her back again yet lol
I let her whinge for a bit before I turn her in the hopes she will eventually do it out of frustration :o

katoakai: Caise sounds fine, Comando crawling is great. Prems have poor muscle tone just because they are born too early. The range of normal for sitting according to a chart i have is 25% by 6mths..up to 90% by 12mths with he average of 50% by 9 mths.. And I think its a chart for fulltermers.

DH is currently on the floor with Nick "teaching" him how to crawl. He gets up on all 4s, and rocks back and forth, so DH started moving each arm/leg one by one. And Nick just falls on his belly. Lovely of him to teach him to crawl a day before he goes back to work and I have to chase him around. Lucky for me, Nick's not taking to it very well :)

We had been trying to get him to sit up and surround him with pillows for when he falls, then Christmas night he surprised us by sitting the whole time we were all opening presents. Now he's pretty good at keeping his balance, even when he flails his arms all about :)

Watched The Dark Knight this morning. I quite liked it, but would have liked it more had it been about 30 minutes shorter. I don't have the attention span (or really the time) to watch a 2h 20 min movie anymore! My sister and I are going to see Marley and Me Tuesday night. I doubt its that long, though.

Ive just been looking at this for me and my friend. I thought id found my dress till we went shopping but there is just so much choice!! But i ended up finding mine 80%, its a bit different to the traditional wedding dress, made from silk.

Hideous Bridesmaid dresses are so over priced to!! My friend picked out one for me that she liked I didnt think it suited me but she liked it now im up for $400 for it.

Babywez - I want to see Marley & Me, let me know what its like. Looks pretty funny in the trailers.

Hi Flick!

Nice to meet you. I'm one of the two (other's k8y) the others blame or talking too much... don't know why though as I've only been on once this week! :D

Am no longer worried about Sam being behind. Yes, I think Khirra is a FREAK of nature! Oh OK I'm just jealous - perhaps she's just very very clever. :yelclap:

Bought Sam a lounge today so he can sit up in the corner but he kicks so much he ends up slouching, then lying down as he slides down.

We also got a set of digital bathroom scales and weighed ourselves. I am officially 54.9 kilos, so only stayed the same but had a few ice creams and stuff (beer!) while away... :smiliedance:

Hi All

I too am about your weight, think 53kgs, flat tummy till I sit...think not too bad after 2 kids and nearly 40.

All this talk about engagement rings... I have a a custom of an antique "London Bridge" style made with 3 ceylon sapphires (1/2 carot each) and 6 small diamonds. Sounds OTT, but very understated. I love antique jewelery. Im not a diamond type of girl (unless they are real and big and gaudy!!), but did ask the jeweller for a quote for pink diamonds, he said at least $25K, so I stuck with the sapphires. They are the beautiful violet colour, not the **** light blue the chain jewellers have. Took our jeweller in Sydney over 6 weeks to source 3 stones the same colour and clarity.

You girls will have to post some pics, I loooovee jewellery, bangles, earrings, anything..

Hi all!!

k8y - what have I missed? A ring? Whaaa? I scrolled back but couldn't find it I don't think.
Also, I just got my first AF as well. I worked out it was about 70 weeks since my last one! :yelclap: El is BFing less through the night now, so I think that is why.

ems84 - Kiz standing up the clever thing! El has fluked it ONCE in his cot, but not since. He is grumbly unless he is 'standing' though. He sounds like your DD.. always (wanting to be) on the move!
And YES we did a cast of his foot - it is aaawesome! I keep meaning to take a photo. I kind of messed it up because I used a cup that was too small, but it still worked really well I think!

What have I missed my loves? We went away for a few days.
Back now.
Totally missed all of you

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! by the way xx

We spent our NYE in the emergency department with a constipated bub (or a bub who possibly has an intolerance to dairy after his mum gave him cheese for the first time). All good, just scared us a bit because he was SCREAMING in pain and we couldn't figure out why. Boo. But yes he is fine now the poor little lamb. That's 3 times we've taken him to emergency! I'm sure by our third kid I shall be a bit more relaxed hehe

Oooh okay now I understand, k8y! Have read a bit more carefully now that bub is sleeping. That is so awesome and yaaaay!! Jewellery shopping is fun. I don't wear much so it's a bit of a novelty :)
DP and I have been looking for a wedding ring for me in the sales, but I've not found much I love. I don't like diamonds really, but the style I want all have diamonds! Have decided to look at some antique ones instead :D

MOS - Congrats on TTC! That is so wonderful! Good luck to you both :) Lucky Sam! I wonder if you will have a boy or a girl?! Oh I am so excited for you! hehe
Dp and I have been discussing it also, but we want to wait until we have our own place (hopefully a year or so), and I want to have lost a pretty significant amount of weight before getting preg again, also. It was just waaaay too uncomfortable last time.

MOS no whinging about the IL's yet. It's like a soap drama and am missing my weekly (well lets face it...daily) fix

Well that's because they left for a few days away with the rest of the family. Funny enough the SIL and her family has a holiday apartment near where we went so we saw them up there but the BIL and his family went up and stayed in the same place as we did and they left this morning. So the rest of the family convinced the IL's to go up for a few days aswell. So tonight I cooked a nice dinner and even got to eat half of it in peace with DH before Sam woke up. It's really nice and I feel like we have a little holiday of our own at home before DH goes back to work. I may even have a whole day alone here on Monday. Aaaahhhhh hopefully! Not sure when they're coming back either as they will not commit to anything - just say "2 or 3 days".... but I'll take what I can get!

News to report: Just spoken to shereejoy on MSN. She's doing well. The boys are doing well also. Riley's feeding is not perfect but it's OK now he's on solids. She's still BF as much as possible but he still has trouble and doesn't last long on the boob. Lachlan is now TT and has had no accidents... oh and she got AF back quite some time ago but not again since. Her words "Hope I'm not pregnant" but she won't get a test as supermarket sold out and she knows everybody in the chemist. So there you go - I asked her if it was OK for me to report back as I know we were all wondering how she was going... and I figured it was JUICY so couldn't wait really!

Anyway must get some sleep. I've crashed about 3 times today but not really slept much so must catch up.

Oooh I feel really bad but a friend wanted to spend the day with me tomorrow. She said she'd call me and organise something but she hasn't yet. I'm really happy because I really want to spend the day with DH. He sometimes only gets 1 day a week off work so I don't really want to be spending the day with a friend when I could be spending it with DH. Is that bad? Does anyone else have this dilemma? I feel like I'm constantly making excuses as I just want to be with DH on weekends..,.

Morning! MOS how lovely that the inlaws are gone just as you get back! Its like an extension of your holiday! I would think spending a whole Sunday with a friend would be a bit much to expect if her DH only had Sundays off. DH has been off for 4 days now and I hate that we're going back to our regularly programmed schedule tomorrow :(

Bestie and her DH came over last night. They are FINALLY talking about trying to get PG at the end of this year! Maybe we'll be PG w/ #2 by then, too. That would be fun. They bought Nicklas a little outfit and his first pair of "My First Volleys" but I think they're almost too small for them. DH put them on Nick this morning and put him on his mat (we got one of those rubber 0-9 mats) and he kept moving his foot back and forth, we think b/c of the sound the shoes were making. He's so funny.

Thanks for the update on Shereejoy:thumbsup:

I have been asked to go out with a friend for coffee etc on a sun...(without our toddlers:D)
But I said yes(unsure myself as I wanted to spend it with DH & boys) I would speak to DH then he said what AGAIN....hmmmmm........so I said sunday is family day isn't? He said yes....so I wrote back to her & said that she was cool with it all,but I guess DH was thinking I catch up with her during the week for playdates/coffees etc.
So no I dont think its bad hun, time with your family is precious,do you get to see her during the week? if not maybe you could do something on a SAT when your DH is working? Im sure she would understand:goodvibes:

Morning! MOS how lovely that the inlaws are gone just as you get back! Its like an extension of your holiday! I would think spending a whole Sunday with a friend would be a bit much to expect if her DH only had Sundays off. DH has been off for 4 days now and I hate that we're going back to our regularly programmed schedule tomorrow

They are cute "volleys" ;)

I got Sam a pair of those Volleys too but he kicks them off too easily. I think they're still a little big for him.

No she works during the week so it's not really her fault. I feel bad saying to friends that I'd rather see them when I can't see DH, like when he's working as it's like admitting to them that they are second best. Maybe this is why I don't have many friends... and can't be bothered with the ones I DO have! :o

Anyway as it happens today DH has woken up and doesn't feel like doing anything so I think I will call her as I feel the need to get out...

Well, your friends should know they are second best when it comes to your family. If they don't or can't understand that, then you have to wonder how much of a friend they are, I think.
Even my family is second best to DH and Nick. Isn't that how its supposed to be?

I kind of like meeting friends for coffee on weekends. Usually we do it first thing in the am, and DH stays home with Nick. Its a little bit of "me" time. Then again, I get excited to go grocery shopping by myself early weekend mornings now...what has my life come to?! :)

MOS well done on the weight! How tall are you? I'm down to 64kg the lowest I've been in a good few years. I'm 5'6" and I feel really good. Am hoping to drop a few more kilos before I go home in April.

Good luck on baby no.2 too - still not up for discussion by me in this house:laughing:

And I'm with you girls when it comes to see mates when my OH is off work - he comes first and with one or the other of us working now we will rarely get time off together.

DD is sitting up really well but isn't keen on tummy time and isn't interested in rolling. I think she'll be crawling before she rolls to be honest.

k8Y - I've got a white gold princess cut engagment ring - I love it. I went with OH to choose it as I didn't know if he'd pick what I wanted - I always thought I'd have a narrow band but I've got long thin fingers so a thicker band suited me better.

Yeah that's how it is for me too and yes I suppose people should understand... but it still feels bad saying it out loud to the friend. I just called her and she's forgotten and has a kitchen tea on today. It's for her new man's sister who she's just met and she asked her to come along. She said she needs to make a good impression on his family so is going. She was apologetic but I am more than understanding... and a little relieved too! So we're meeting for a coffee Tues night. Not sure about that either as our nights kind of go passed in a blur once DH gets home from work, but it will be nice to catch up with her. Not sure how I'll manage the solids, then bath, then sleep time around that one... Oh well!

Welcomeback Lambi Poor little El. What did they do about his constipation?? ahh well, 2009 already had a memerable start for you (for all the wrong reasons)....When he's older you can enquire about his bowels every New Years Eve, just to embarris him...:D

That's ok then - I was beginning to think I was feeling pleased with myself for nothing:D I'm still not sure how I've lost so much weight - I was 72kg before I got pregnant and wearing size 14s - I didn't put much weight on mainly I think because I changed my diet drastically when I found out about the gestational diabetes. And then the weight just dropped off me after I had DD - didn't breastfeed for long so can't blame that. I'm now wearing 10-12s - which is a bit of a bummer as I bought 4 pairs of new shorts last summer - size 14 which I'm determined to wear but they fall off me. I'm not complaining - just wondering... My BF reckons it's because I started walking daily with DD about a fortnight after she was born???

I can't believe how driven by "routine" babies are. I mean, I understand it, but it is just amazing. We had our friends over last night, and Nicklas went to sleep at 7:30, which is normal, but then was up at 9:30, and 11 and then would not go back to sleep. I'm sure the 9:30 and 11 was him being woken up by our noise downstairs playing Wii, and then he was just unsettled for the rest of the night. Same for NYE, we kept him up to watch the early fireworks but he was so tired and cranky and it took longer than normal to get him to sleep. I think if we're having people over on weekends, it will be lunch-time from now on.

Also, I just got my first AF as well. I worked out it was about 70 weeks since my last one! El is BFing less through the night now, so I think that is why.

Yes I think that is why my AF is back also.
We missed you too :hugs:

DP and I have been looking for a wedding ring for me in the sales, but I've not found much I love. I don't like diamonds really, but the style I want all have diamonds! Have decided to look at some antique ones instead

Yes very exciting isn't it!
sk6 your ring sounds divine and I love antique jewellery but I don't have much jewellery. Would like to change that but extra funds go to our little girl :cloud9:
Speaking of which, we've started putting money into an account for her and she now has $1600 :yelclap:
lambkin have you considered having the ring made?

Your funny K8y.....I know that movie POPCORN is soooooooooo salty you need a litre of water to wash it down.
What did you see?

Australia.
Hugh Jackman - phwoarrrrrrrr......... Nicole Kidman was not half as bad as the media portrayed her even though am not a fan of hers.
Want to see Twilight, wonder if that is out here or finished here? Will have to check.
My friend I saw Australia with read the book and said she read it till 3am as couldn't put it down. So she brought it to the movies for me yesterday. Started reading it last night and by 11.30pm I had to forcibly put it down to get some sleep but even then I was still itching to pick it up and keep reading.
She went out and bought the rest of the series and she is now almost finished book 3 lol.

Your ring sounds lovely.

Housework today.
Getting brow wax and tint and eyelash tint at 12.45pm.
Friend coming for coffee at 3pm today as she was going to break up with her boyfriend of 6 years last night. Told her yesterday to come over today (the one I went to movies with).

If you are walking daily and changed your diet for the better during your pregnancy, then I'd put $ on it that that is the reason for the weight loss. I had gotten good at walking every morning with DH to his work and home, but since he's had 2 4-day weekends, I've slacked big time. Will be interesting to see how this week goes as I will walk Mon, Wed-Fri, tennis Mon night and Tue morning. Will be buggered by next weekend probably. But I need to make that my weekly routine. Hoping I will be wearing size 12 by the time we go to the States in May. :fingerscrossed:

WOW to all of you girls RE; the weight loss. Congratulations! I can not lose weight no matter what I do. I am meant to be starting meds again to help control my insulin which should help me lose weight, but I keep putting off starting on it because it gives me bad stomach pains for the first few days. Neeeugh. Am also considering trying to wean myself off of the anti-d's as the only time I've managed to lose any weight over the last few years was when I stopped taking them. Hmm. We shall see. I want to be significantly lighter an dhealthier before we start TTC again, which realistically, won't be that far away. Sigh.

My sister's little girl has a UTI and is in hospital for a few days, the poor thing. I hope they are doing okay down there.

Mum and Dad have gone away so DP and I are housesitting for them and looking after the dogs. DP slept with the dogs last night, and I slept with DS. He said the dogs are worse than sleeping with the baby! haha.

lambkin glad El is OK...ordinary way to spend NYE

bella- well done I am 5'4 and about 66kg so 64 and 2 inches on me sounds great, sounds like you have done really well. I do the exercise, but eat to make up for it!! well tomorrow is the start of eating healthier...so we are having Indian for dinner tonight.

I know what you mean about routine..especially now with solids seem to spend most of the day feeding bubs!

Aaaahhhhh hopefully! glad you get a couple of extra days to yourself...totally hear you about spending time with DH....hence why I put up the my Ils so much so we can actually see each other. what we find is that he is only guarenteed one weekend a month and because people usually plan something...it is never free just with the 3 of us. I used to spend a lot more time with friends, but now we take advantage of time together as we don't get to spend nights after work together. gotta love shift workers!!

BTW thanks for the update on shereejoy- say Hi if you message her again

well have been for a walk this morning and then went down the road and got a salad and coffee for lunch Pip is lying on the bed next to me...should be tired but isn't.

Today DH and I went to the local and we shared a small pizza and salad. It was nice. Then we came home and once Sam went to sleep I started another batch of solids to freeze. I've done carrots and cauliflower is next in line. I just intro'd banana the other day so I will wait a few days and then start him on the cauliflower. I'm going to express some BM to put in with the potato when I intro that as I've tried it once and it went very thick and starchy and Sam almost choked. So I chucked that batch. I didn't want to add cow's milk or butter so I think BM would do the trick. We'll see... Just need to clean and sterilise the pump as haven't used it in a while...

DH has been pushing me to start something to make money from home. Am considering doing a personal trainer's course and doing mums and bubs excercise sessions. Ideas anyone? It's something I can do with baby, whilst pregnant and stay fit... and make money off. What do you guys think? Am still pondering it though, nothing set in stone... yet.

Oh while we were away last week, we went to an RSL type club for a coffee and cake as they had a nice cafe in there. Sam fell asleep so we sat down and played Keno (yeah we're 60 years old now!) and then as we were leaving, DH put a few dollars into a machine where you line up the flashing lights and if you get all the way up to the top, you win a major prize. Well he won it. There were about 10 kids standing around and they were all cheering, on of them touched the door and then next thing we know it won't open to get our prize out. Not sure if the kid opened the door and it closed again but he didn't get hiz prize. They said the machine is owned by someone else and they don't have access to it. The owner was supposed to open it Sat and they were going to call us. Now DH just called and nobody knows anything about it. We want his parents to pick it up before they come back... Ggrrr... :hair: Too funny though, you should have heard these kids - complete silence and then absolute cheering when he won. They were all glued to their spots watching. He said he felt like the cool kid!

oooooooooow. DH and I decided to walk to blockbuster to check out their Wii selections and movie selections, as we are pretty disappointed in our local VideoEZY. So then from there we walked to Australia Fair and walked around the shops then walked home. 5.2km not including the stores, and 2 1/2 hours later we finally made it home. My feet and legs are soooooooore! I feel like I should instantly lose at least 5 kgs for that one!

All that aside, it is sooooooo much easier to walk with someone else. Especially when they push the pram! ;) That's why walking to work with DH works, b/c once I am out, its the only way to get home, and starting out in the am with him is easy.

Try just mashing the potato MOS. I tried blending it and the same thing happened - then my cheffy OH said just mash it - a lot - and it was loads better.

I stocked up on fresh broccoli, sweet pot and carrot this morning for her. I love the satisfaction I get from giving her home cooked food. She hasn't been fed from a jar yet but I think I'd best start soon so that she will eat in an emergency. She had weetbix this morning and wolfed it down. To be honest there's nothing she won't eat - she wasn't too keen on the natural yogurt, a bit tart I would imagine, but still ate it. Mixed it with lots of paw paw the second time to hide the tartness of it.:D

Just a quick one girls, as I've fallen behind so much on the chatter!

Oconky - yay for Pip standing! Clever little munchkin... she has been following closely with all the same things Kiz has been doing - knew it wouldn't be long :D

And BB - woohoo for Casey!!! So clever :yelclap: You are going to be busy with two on the move, lol! I'm flat-out just chasing after Khirra all the time - those last few kilos will just drop off! I found with Khirra that once she started crawling, her sitting just improved so dramatically. The balance just kicked in or something.

See, Khirra's not the only freak ;)

MOS - how exciting to be TTC! Hope it happens for you soon.

Lambkin - poor little Elliott. Must have been terrible for him (and you). Glad he's feeling better now! And glad the casting turned out! They're such a great memory, I think

K8y - :hugs: for Summer starting CC on Tuesday hun. Maybe just give her a few short days to start with - see how she goes. That way you'll know that it's not to long between feeds if she won't take the bottle... I'm sure she will though babe :hugs:

C38 - I wouldn't be too jealous about being able to dress them in nappies up here. I'm finding it's been so warm that she just spends most days in a nappy, so she's not getting use out of her clothes. Lucky she's such a midget I guess... 7 months now and she's still in 000's... haven't even tried a 00 on her yet. So I guess the clothes are lasting! Plus, it's so muggy some days, it's so hard to get them to sleep.

Anyway, like you girls have been talking about today, going to spend some time with DP... rub some aloe vera on him... he played 18 holes today with a mate of his who's a Pro, and is red raw. Dufus.

Have a nice night girls.

We had a little inncident this morning, Halie was painting outside and when i wasnt looking she bought the paint inside and left it on the ground. Well little miss Kara found it and was covered in orange paint, luckaly she hadnt swallowed any.

Congrats everyone on the weight loss!! Im at the weight i want i just need the modivation to tone up. really need to tone up my stomach the most, been trying to use the pool for everything else.

DP and I have been looking for a wedding ring for me in the sales, but I've not found much I love. I don't like diamonds really, but the style I want all have diamonds! Have decided to look at some antique ones instead

Have you thought about another stone instead of a diamond in the same style???

oopsie daisy!! Did you get a photo of her all orange???
And yes I would love another stone in a similar style to what I like! I am on the look out but haven't found anything yet.

Hope your Neice is ok:hugs:Not very nice at all:no:
Casey had a UTI not as common in boys as it is in girls, he may have to have another test done? he was also in Hospital for 3days ultrasound was all clear but my GP thinks he may need another test we will see.
Hope you sister is ok? horrible being @ hospital I know how she feels.
Im still on Zoloft,I think thats why I put weight on at the start then had two babies:rolleyes: but I am loosing it now Weight Watchers has been great I think writing down what I eat helps & eating smaller portions cutting out junk food(except WW bars etc)

I took some stuff up to her this afternoon and left DS with my other sister and DP at home. They seem O.K. They've also discovered she has a heart murmur, but hopefully that is alright as well :( So scary and sad. Awful.
And you have done SOO well on WW. I wish I had the guts to go. I was thinking about doing it online, but I don't like spending the money on something I feel like I can just do myself. I should get Fat Club back up and running once I sort out all my meds!

oooooooooow.

Good girl!!

I love the satisfaction I get from that too. DP calls me Supermum!! Yaaay! Although he does eat quite a lot of those Rafferty's Garden ones also when we are out and about :) They're good! Nothing else added. might be a good option for emergencies if you don't fancy the jarred stuff.

What about doing/selling party plan, I looked into it,I was going to sell childrens toys but might look at selling something else, that way you can take Sam with you hold parties when you want & make some extra $$$$....there is babies/kids clothes...all sorts!

Not sure that's me. I don't like GOING to those things as I feel pressured, etc so don't think I'd look forward to actually putting one on myself...

Mixed it with lots of paw paw the second time to hide the tartness of it.:D

I tried mashing it with a fork after it didn't blend well but he chocked as it didn't mash well enough. How else can I make sure it's REALLY smooth? And yes, I get the same satisfaction from making my food too. And Sam still hasn't had anything out of a packet except for the Farex and teething rusks. Oh you should have seen him the other day when DH and I were having lunch. I had him (Sam) on my lap and as I ws bringing a hot chip to my mouth, he grabbed my arm with both hands and tried to steer the chip to his mouth. It was funny, he had his mouth WIDE open and was panting frantically! Sooo desperate!

DH took video of Nicklas laughing at me playing peek-a-boo with him this evening and I just uploaded it to facebook. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/video/video.php?v=43471153387
Hopefully that link works!

That was sooo gorgeous. Don't you love that scream they do with it too? Oh and I also checked out the one of your DH "foot jumping"..... he must be one very cool dad! :D:laughing:

Sam and I are at home alone today. Am going to cook a nice dinner for DH and change the sheets on our bed and get a few things done. I'm really enjoying this staying at home thing while the IL's aren't here. They wouldn't commit to when they're coming home but on the phone yesterday it changed to "3 or 4 days" so I hope they have sooooo much fun it changes to a whole week! :D

Must be off. Chat later.

Babywez - That video is just precious! Sooooo cute! I love the end where he does the gaspy wind-down laughs, lol. There really is nothing better than a baby laughing... and knowing that we're they're source of joy (for the moment) :goodvibes:

MOS - I forgot to say last night, I think that parent's exercise class last night sounds great - I was looking for that sort of thing over in Perth, and they had one, but is was really, really expensive. And think of all the benefits for you! I love that idea.

And I don't know if you like the sound of this pototo idea, since you don't want to add cow's milk or butter, but one of my books and the CHN has suggested adding ricotta cheese to bub's meals - says it's fine from 6months. Might help smooth it out a bit... or maybe mash it through a sieve? Just a suggestion

BB - Wanna swap bubs?? Khirra's sleeping has been shocking lately... I lost times how many times she woke last night... I dunno... it's been since she started crawling and furniture cruising... maybe she's just overstimulated herself

DP has a job interview today. They've already offered him the job, and he said no (they weren't offering as much money as another job he's applied for) so they called again and have asked him to come in 'for a chat'. We'll see how it goes...
