View Full Version : Worsening MS after 10 wks?

Just wondering if anyone else has found that their morning sickness worsened later on in their first trimester? I had very little initially but the last week I have been sick every morning, it all starts when I brush my teeth and I can't stop.
My first pregnancy I had textbook morning sickness just in the morning from 6-13wks, the next pregnancy I had evening sickness up till he was born at 19wks, but only vomited a handful of times. This time just feels so strange as I feel like I should be 'coming out of it' but I'm getting worse instead of better.
Hey Nic,
My m/s has been so on and off, though it didn't peak until about 10wks, maybe 10.5, I had a few very sick days. Then the frequency diminished so now I feel sick every 3 days roughly, but when I do feel sick I feel just awful, and the burps are so bad! :o
I guess anything goes in the pregnancy game...

Apparently as hormones rise from weeks 10 - 14, so does the m/s in some cases. this happened to me this time around. it kinda hits a peak at 14 weeks and then dies down if not so already.
so hoping these next four weeks go fast for you.

Thank you Lukie and Moonstone mumma! That is good to know. I didn't realise the hormones peaked at 10-14wks! I have just been feeling so so yucky and thought I should be feeling better by now! Thanks for the advice!

I vomit the whole way through my pregnancies - on to No.3 at the moment and currently 18 weeks
with all 3 I have found my vomitting peaks at 10-12 weeks where I vomit all day and night whereas during the other weeks it's generally just first thing in the mornings
if toothbrushing sets it off for you then have you tried mouthwash instead?
my dentist told me to use that if I couldn't brush as it's better than nothing
hope you're feeling better soon - and if nothing else you know it will end at birth! :hugs:

I didn't know about the hormone level thingy either! But I am 11 weeks pregnant and this last week has been a SHOCKER! :barf::barf:
My first pregnancy got bad around 10 weeks too - but I just put it down to being on holidays in a very hot place. With that pregnancy I continued to feel really bad with all-day-sickness until 14 weeks. Then one day I suddenly realised I only had half-day-sickness for two days, then shazam! Gone! Never to return! :flowerz:

I'm 10.5 weeks and my m/s is definitely peaking. I just feel almost unbearably sick most of the time. The thought of this continuing for another 4 weeks is horrible. I do not know how I can go to work tomorrow.
There are a lot of medications you can take to help with m/s. Unfortunately for me they clash with other meds I take :crying: Im 32 weeks and still suffer it REALLY bad. I feel like a revolving door I usually get 5-10mins after I eat before its back but bubs is growing fine so the Drs arent bothered, mind you I am!

I'll update and says that I'm now almost 18 weeks and the nausea has mostly gone! :yelclap: Still have the odd moment and the other day I was fine and then :barf: all of a sudden without warning, but doesn't happen very often.
