Today I tried my brand new (:yelclap: ) green nappy on Cj for his day sleep.
He woke up early crying, so I went in & he was saying "fall". I thought he was saying he fell off is bed....
So I picked him up & he was SOAKED!! took his trackies off & his nappy was 1/2 falling off  !! :(
Has anyone else got their toddler in them? The website says that they will fit up to toilet training (30mths). Cj is 25 months. It looked like it fit him ok, but as it fell off ( i dont imagine he did it coz his pants would have been off aswell, but he might have.)
Any way I might try him again tomorrow not in sleep time & see how it goes again. But any feedback would be great. Cheers!
oooh .. interesting... ummm
what have you stuffed it with???

A Hemparoo from green nappies. I didn't use the micro fibre insert coz he usually only sleeps for 2 or 3 hours. today it was 1 1/2. :(
ok ... how much overlap was there on the velcro around his waist (work with me,, I"m thinking... thinking )

Oh, umm ( thinking)
Not a huge amount. He's not fat or anything... but he is 2!! :p
I've got a Greenkids also - tried it for the first time a day ago, just during the day though. They are quite a snug fit on DS (15 months old) but I haven't had a leak yet. I am careful to make sure that the inner isn't rolling out of the top of the nappy though as I thought that might increase the chances of a leak. I have put the hemp prefold in for the day and that had lasted him three hours so far and probably could have done another hour as it wasn't completely soaked through when I changed him. DS is an absolute piddle-pot ATM also. I haven't ventured into nighttimes yet.

Was the velcro actually undone?? If not I dare say it may be too much stuffing, but by what you said it dosn't sound like too much!
I am lost if the velcro was still done up nice and tight and it fell off!
Just a thought the velcro didn't perhaps catch on the pj's in his sleep and undo????? (Grasping at straws here)!

Well one side was undone.
I was actually thinking maybe that's what happened. I will try again tho, not giving up yet!! They are waaaayyyyy to cute!

If you have a couple of safety pins just pin the sides tonight and see if it happens again if it falls off still it obviously wasn't the velcro undoing that made it fall off.
OOOH no safety pins!!! not with PUL surely!!!

Yep  if you put it right up near the end it isn't going to make a difference to the nappy being waterproof or not!!!!;) It isn't like you would be shoving the pins through the crutch area leaving huge holes! 2 tiny pin pricks isn't going to affect it!
oooh I am such a chicken... I dont know if I would try that
I know people who have used medium nappies on kids who are two.. and the greens are the same size... so I'd be suprised if it was the cut that was the problem...
dammit... becca rae.. I want to drive to your house tonight to see for myself ..

Yeah i would have to say it has something do with either overstuffing making them too bulky so easily removed by a squirming bubba or the velcro has caught on his trackies. Or maybe he is like Boof & likes to undo them in his sleep lol !
You sometimes have to be careful how their pants sit especially if you have a squirmer like mine !
Boof is a big boy even at 14mths he is the size of the average 21mth old & his Greens still have plenty of room.
Good luck i hope you find out what to do.

I would have to agree that the most likely cause would have been the velcro grabbing on the clothing and coming undone. That's why I only buy nappies that do up with snaps or snappis now. Not knocking Green Nappies at all, they are a great nappy, we just can't use velcro/applix with our DD :(
Hi
Just wanted to say that I'm a new user of Greens Nappies and I love them. My DD is almost 2 but she is pretty small and has no gut or bum at all so don't know if that makes a difference. Also, I've had her in them all night (12 hrs) with a hemp prefold and a microfibre booster and they were fine and she normally soaks a disposable.
So, I'm with the other girls and think that maybe it snagged on his pants. Good luck with it tomorrow and let us know how it goes.
Jo :)

Yes this might be another option.
I have just started to get a few with snaps because of Boof loving being a rudie nudie as i call him lol !
Sandra Stuffables has some great ones & they have a great reputation. I got some Swaddlebees from ebay which once i sorted out how to stuff them ( they are super super trim even more than the Greens ) they are great & had no trouble.
But im hoping that your Greens work out ok because they are fantastic !

Ok so test run #2 went well!!
I put it on him after his day sleep. And changed it 3 hours later (coz he pooed), but I think it would have lasted a little longer!!
It looks so cute on!!
I think that yesty I mustn't have put it on properly, coz no dramas today. Though I did check that the velcro wasn't caught on anything!!
Will try him during his sleep tomorrow!! :yelclap:
:smiliedance: YAY!!! glad to hear it went better!!!! :smiliedance:
now you just need to buy more

I found a PUL nappy cover that is Raggety Anne.... SOOOO CUTE!! :D
I'm only gonna get plain unisex ones for CJ coz he'll only be in them hopefully for another 6 mnths or so.... Then Elly can use them.
